I mean, the Sons of Malice is the only proof that Malice exists but we still believe in his existence. We don't think it's Chaos Undivided or one of the Four.

I don't, or rather I do not believe it is definitive that he is a Chaos God and not just a very powerful Undivided Daemon, the same goes for the supposed 'god of atheism' who feels more like an old tongue in cheek joke than anything else.

Misc/Uncategorized
Doubling down on ruin exploration will only allow you to find what is there faster and will not change what there is to find, I have already determined that.
I cannot help but think of the Imperium Secundus.
One of the few Petty Imperiums that paid attention to logistics
they (Genetors) instead give a passive chance to find new species, I am very wary of giving you too many actions
Main advantage of Hive is that it is better defended.
40k humanity seems to be tougher then modern humanity, and it is militarizing the whole planet, why do you think I called it Cadia style?
How much would a juvenat clinic(with the brand new STC we found) catering to rich and powerful visitors improve our Tourism?
It would be expensive and require exotic material but wold massively increase tourism.
You started near the end of the 43rd millennium.
Everyone keeps mentioning four time that the Imperium disintegrated, I can not think of more then 2, and even then disintegrated is a serous exaggeration of what happened.

Also Chaos is not nearly as reliant on the Astronomicon, they can function in places it does not reach, such as the Eye of Terror.

Also you are forgetting the psychological shock of the God-Emperors' death, people will not react in the same way once their God is dead
Actually you can, the big difference is that there is an external threat - humanity is always better at cooperating in the face of an external threat to its existence.

Also honor and keeping you word, both as an individual and as a group, matters far more in 40k then it does in real life
I'd really like to be able to have our own artisan forges on Avernus... Would it be possible to do that in the future?
It might be possible but is unlikely, you do not have the right sort of culture
Given communication and travel issues forming any large polity will be very hard
Yes neighboring Sub-Sectors will be close enough to make deals with and even rule once the warp storm goes down, it is anything sector size or larger when you start having issues.
Polyamory is not standard in the Imperium though cheating on your spouse is among the Nobility. Imperial culture is massively diverse not much is standard
You do not have to worry about Thrones too much as you can order more of your production to produce Thrones rather then material.
In general Nobles are in favor of hereditary power
Will you ever implement mechanics for the benefits a economy of scale grants?
Possibly but unlikely for anything involving advanced material.
What'd happen if we get a Nat1 on an option where we get, say, +140 or something in modifiers?
Something would go badly wrong. I would then roll to see how bad it was but there is a chance that you might lose the adviser if it was anything dangerous.

Of course I roll every turn to see if each of your advisers are killed.
As a note it will be very hard to take a Hive or even get past the first layer of defenses within hours.
The big benefit is the Blink Spider detection, if you didn't have that Avernus would have soon become hated by the rest of the Nine Worlds
also it is happening in the background but doesn't get a mention.

You are also underestimating how useful blinking will be to Battle Psykers, if Xavier could have blinked he would have won the fight with The Angel of Betrayal far easier

Also some researches do not lead to major benefits, that is why you have to choose what researches you do.
NA means that it is too small to have any impact, treat as 0 except that you need to have at least one ship on the route
The impact of distance is already counted in the cargo costs
It will happen automatically and you will pay as much as it costs to build that number of Knights which is in military datasheet (4,000 Thrones, 196 AM, 4 EM)
Spy network does not apply the year the network is finished
I see was afraid it got destroyed or something before we could reverse engineer it.
If something like that happens I will tell you
You don't, also an orbital elevator is a major defensive liability.

Also shipping speed has not effected any of your orbital action times and is unlikely.
I do not anticipate you running out of things to research anytime this century, or next century to be honest.
Interesting idea, I have already determined what it is but I had not even considered that random friendlies may turn up, I will add it to the random events table.
On other xenos species, I will be using the occasional either minor or original xenos species in my quest.
That would be nice.

If anyone has any ideas please mention them.
The reason he can't reverse engineer it is because it does not have a large enough psychic imprint of it construction.
The imprint for the ship is big enough to be detected it is the smaller vehicles within the ship that do not have enough of a imprint remaining to use.
The main aim is to move the story along faster, I expect you to remain in the Warp Storm for over a hundred years and want to actually reach the next part by the end of the year.
Just as a comment basing your decisions on how often attacks have happened in the past is a very bad idea, there is a set chance of something happening every year and it dos not change which means that there is the same chance of an invasion arriving on any given turn.
To the first, no i would not.
To the second I will be rolling (for Events) every 10 years

also as a note there is a chance for an invasion to be too small to need battle turns
Yes it would be, that is why it was designed.
The reason why is in character because nat 1s represent very low probability events that do not show up in predictions and out of character because I do not want to make you immune to nat 1s.
The new war mechanic might mean that there are hidden benefits to the anti-_ training options, like hidden tactical/strategic avenues of action being unveiled by Durin.
is this the case, or is +5 the only benefit?
Not in this case, you are trying to find out the reasons behind the biology rather then the details which is what the Advanced Medical Scanner is useful for and the Flying Research Fortress is mostly useful for anything involving exploration.
Maybe, there is also a chance of Eldar Farseer meddling as well as modifiers for the enemy that you do not know about.
I wonder if we will have to deal with a Enlightenment movement that sparks revolutionary actions which we either have to stamp our or bend to their demands.

I can see Surt creating it cause we are not progressive enough.
Surt is patent enough to try to work though proper channels for quite a while before doing anything like that and was the person arguing that you need to unite to survive.
I will overrule any vote that includes you sacrificing your men for this reason, the governor is smarter then that.
Having them lead the assaults for the rest of the campaign yes but not deliberately choosing options that will get more killed then need to be killed.
The only people who developed that tech (soulstones) are the Eldar, I severely doubt that you would be able to mimic them.
What is possible for Dark Age humans is not necessarily possible for you, that would be like saying what is possible for modern humans is possible for people in the early industrial age.

Also while there are sects that oppose that law of the Machine God they are a heretical minority that does not have any say over the local Mechanicus.
You expect that their training modifier will reach at least +150.

So far no other worlds are planning on introducing either the Avernite military training techniques or the Muspelheim education curriculum though several are planning on watered down versions
It is safe to say that a member of the Governor's Own is a match for a Veteran Space Marines, mostly because of having far better equipment.
Interestingly enough if you did not have the tech-priests working there was another seven hours until the reactor went off.
Perhaps we can get a ruling that knowing how to turn xeno tech off safely is not heresy?
That will be hard to get but is actually possible.
So, how much of the irreplaceable timeless army have we lost? Percentagewise.
As far as you know humans evolved naturally.
Actually until then I had not made the connection between your discovery and an SCV but the basic trooper armour and Impaler do come from Starcraft.
Most of what you have found is not from Starcraft, I may copy one of the few know Dark Age relics but will probably not.
Do not rely on me not having another war, there is a set chance for an invasion each year and it is possible for there to be multiple in quick succession, also you know that there is an Ork Waaagh that promised to come back.
Do the imported education methods from Muspelheim include the Scientific Method, Critical Thinking, etc as part of their curriculum? If so, has there been any noticeable deviance in the average mindset of the newer Avernite generations in comparison to the Imperial norm (as normal as it can get for a Fortress-Death World, in any case)?

Also does being the Lieutenant-General of the Helltroopers grant additional security against the chance of wildlife-death in comparison to a PDF Lieutenant-General position?
except with more dangerous animals
The Imperial Palace is 10, the rest of terra is 8 or 9.
What did buying all of Atlas' non-restricted STCs give us? I'm comparing our incomes from before and after that final trade and there doesn't seem to be any major increases.
Given that you income doubled within two years of buying the STCs i think they had a major effect.
So without the Atlas STCs, it would be at +1000 rather than +1900?
You are currently at +2596.86% and would be at around +1800 without Atlas. You also gained the ability to build several military assets from that trade.
Those +50 to +100 are on top of your existing +2000 or so
for example right now +100 would increase your income by under 4%.
As far as Saren can tell the Life Eater will eventually consume the continent that it is used on but that this would take hundreds of years and it would be possible to wipe it out before that.
3. Xavier and Khol are both graduates of the Avernus Officer Academy but Khol seems to get more stats out of it. Did the instructors just wave Xavier through to get the hive-killing witch out of their academy as quickly as possible?
4. According to Lexicanum, it usually takes months to launch a Deathstrike due to administrative and religious rituals. I know we've got the former down pat, but were the religious requirements laxened by Britton or do they just not take very long compared to the admin stuff?
3. It is because Xavier had better stats when he entered and so had less improvements.
4. Both, mostly the latter
1. Is it possible to open this up as a major Saint Lin project after he's done reforming the Ecclesiarchy with Good Deeds or by "far easier said than done" do you simply mean we can't?
2. Are the Grey Knights open to corruption now?
3. Worship of wildlife is heresy, I believe? The constitution does say that it's illegal to worship xenos, after all.
4. Does Ynnead count as a xeno?
1. I mean that you can't right now but may be able to at some point (some very very distant point)
2. How would you know? But probably not as they have enough willpower to avoid corruption
3. They generally are killed by the wildlife before it becomes and issue
4 Yes
Looking at Avernus' character sheet and was reminded of some stuff, namely Military Tradition and the Pious population trait. If Syr hadn't already gotten it, would she have likely gained the 'Pious' trait just from being an Avernite? Will she eventually get a bonus from Military Tradition?
no, population traits are fa smaller scale then character traits
1. What does having high Mechanicus morale give us?
2. Why did some Living Saints grow wings? Are humans part bird?
1. Reduced Chance of trouble with the Mechanicus
2. Because that is how Angels are visualized by many of the faithful
1. So will Ridcully get a +13/14 from wearing the BC jewellery if he does Cheating?
2. Have there ever been problems with these Avernus warp animals leaking into the Materium due to psykers losing control of their powers and stuff? Have they ever been intentionally weaponised, either by cultists or our own forces?
3. This isn't a reference to the Black Irons...is it?
1. No, he will get a +9
2. Yes but not very often and usually when there are deamons present (which they then hunt and eat), No they have not been weaponised
3. No, it is a reference to the Death Korps of Krieg
what if the fleet was coming here to Exterminatus Helhiem and the planet mind just went "nope"
then it would probably be orbiting Avernus
1. Well what about surgically replacing a person's blood with Saint's Blood? We do that IRL occasionally (minus the "saint" bit).
3. When I asked about talking with the Sirens and Trolls to learn some of their ancient stories and legends, you said that there would be issues with the Inquisition. Wouldn't arming a violent species and having them be subordinate to us also raise issues with the Inquisition?
4. Can we continue to tutor Syr after she turns 18?
1. You have no clue what would happen and don't feel inclined to test
3. There would be little trouble if you gave the Trolls bottom of the line equipment, also the power of the Inquisition is in decline
4. Yes, but it will take longer and you will have far lower success chances (and lower limits)
1. How come? I'm sure we can get a volunteer from the Black Irons or Adeptus Astra Telepathica (psykers are heavily indoctrinated).
2. Does "bottom of the line" mean spears, stubguns, or lasguns?
1. Saint Lin doesn't want to donate blood for science
2. stubguns
But the planets are not in the Warp Storms. They are behind them, which is a pretty crucial difference. There is a time and place to call Warp shenanigans but this isn't one of them. I haven't read anything about Warp Storms messing with the timestream this bad outside of the Eye of Terror which is a much more powerful Warp Storm than the one we're in and actually covers the planets within it.
They might not be in the Warp Storms but they are maintained within them
Stop trying to apply science, it deosnt work
Here you go, . A quick question though, for things like this do you only take the proposals that got voted by more than 50% of the total voters?
yes I only take proposals that get at least 50% of the votes
if a proposal gets 50% I flip a coin to decide if it should be accepted
No, i determine what is in the ruins before you even open them
1) If we get Vanaheim's shipwrights to attend the post cognition learning project, will the chance for a success on the ancient ship construction technique study be improved?
2) Did Frederick visit his fiefdom on Asgard? This is his first time visiting Asgard, IIRC.
1. Probably not
2. Yes he did
1. (On getting Knight-Titans) Impossible in any large numbers, you can get the odd freeblade but no formations
he is not willing to put such an important duty as spreading the New Imperial Trust in the Nine Worlds in other peoples hands, once the New Imperial Truth is firmly rooted he will go about setting up a more missionary organisation for when the Warp Storm ends but that is for later
also the new Imperial Truth is going to be nearly impossible to spread outside of the Space Marine Protectorates as it contradicts the Imperial Creed and does not have a god backing it yet so provides no support or holy effects
yes you will be able to effect the nearby areas but the Imperial Trust is unlikely to ever cover a major portion of the galaxy and its missionaries will not be able to spread the Imperial Trust much beyond its borders
This, the era of galactic scale human anything is over
Wait what mistakes? Didn't they basically get caught with their pants down? I mean I'm pretty sure that DAoT humans only fell apart was the Men of Iron being corrupted by Chaos, and then suddenly dealing with shit tons of psykers out of nowhere. Not a whole lot you could do to counter that.
yes and then various previously peaceful aliens took advantage of the chaos, humanity seems to have decided to blame the aliens as much or more then the AIs or psykers
I thought that Humanity hated Xenos because the Eldar screwed them over. Though if that's why humanity hates xenos its a shit excuse. I'm sure that Chaos manipulated the previously friendly aliens just as much as they manipulated the Ais and psykers.
Sorta. As far as I can tell it started post the eldar fucking up literally so when there were warp storms everywhere all the Xenos turned on humanity.

Whether Humanity also turned on them however is unclear.
I am sure they did, however humanity blamed the Aliens, AIs and Psykers
it probably did, 40k humans are no saints
worshiping your planet isn't exactly xeno rasher and is actually very common among primitive peoples
they have so many examples that they are willing to give some away, particularly given the fact that they expect to find a lot more
1) has anyone on the High or Low Council expressed nervousness at the insane rate of psyker births on Avernus?
2) what does Klovis-Ultan think about the psyker-issue?
3) has either of the other Inquisitors said anything?
1. Yes there is a good degree of nervousness but the fact that Saint Lin is from Avernus helps calm them down
2. He views it as a great asset and a major danger
3. Not that you known of
It would only be "far easier" as far as we know. Just as blinking gives the opponent little time to react, it gives little time for its user to react to. If the angel managed to anticipate where Xavier would teleport (likely, considering Space Marines are very very skilled and Xavier was just a novice swordsman), he'd be able to place his sword or stab in the right place and Xavier would never see it coming. On top of that, Xavier hadn't been humbled at the time making the event even more likely.
Against the Angel of Betrayal phasing did not help, he had a deamon sword which could hurt Xavier even when phased. In fact most of the top tier combatants will be able to hurt Xavier even when phased
More important question...are Swordo's Crimson Crusaders canon in Embers?
if I get permission yes
are many of the Canon characters still... well alive, like Calagar He'tan ect?
most of them were dead before the emperor, it has been 3,000 years since canon and few Space Marines make it past 1,000
Any new famous hero's that we would have atleast heard of through the inquisitors
large numbers, most of which I can't be bothered to naem
However Ragnar Blackmane is the Great Wolf, Mephistion is still alive and Marnas Calgar is a Dreadnought
yes, the events involving Primarchs never happened
Even in Death will Calgar punch things to death with two giant power fists.
Power Fists with built in bolters even, he had one of the easiest times adjusting to a Dreadnoughts weapons ever
5. How well is the Ecclesiarchy doing at embodying the virtues of the New Imperial Truth?
6. What percentage of children on Avernus go to the Schola Progenium?
5. Moderately well
6. Well under 1%, closer to 0.01%
1. That's a rather small amount. If a third of the population is children, that's less than 150,000 children which is likely far less than the amount of orphans Avernus produces. Is there any chance we can expand the Schola? Not only to encompass Avernus but also the rest of the Nine Worlds. They're gonna run out of commissar sooner or later.
1. There are other orphanages
2) Who's overseeing the Rotbart fiefdom on Asgard?
3) If the fiefdom is being delegated, does Frederick have any kind of oversight?
4) Do our advisors get marriage proposals? I'm sure there are noble ladies trying to get in bed with that hunky Avernite Chief Diplomat.
6) Would giant insect lamps work on Avernite, specifically the damn spiders?
2. A carefully chosen Avernite administrator
3. Yes he does
4. Occasionally, none have accepted yet however
6. No
3: Jane's thought about approaching other systems with a plan for us to infiltrate the criminal element (because of the Avernite criminal element) and then coordinate with local systems to wipe them out?
4: If this is possible, would there still be opportunity to gain undercover agents? (Less likely of course, but still possible?)
3. She thinks that only some of the systems will agree but none will be offended
4. Not much of one
no, you don't have the DAoT humans, they were in a stasis field which collapsed thousands of years ago
With that in mind domesticating everything on Avernus and possibly Avernusfying some choice future worlds of Avernus Colonies might ensure that Fortress worlds are probably full of Avernus style lifeforms and Avernite style Warriors.
far easier said then done
the Imperium had buffer zones larger then you can travel in a year and had trillions of reserves
your biggest problem is that while your troops are a order of magnitude more deadly then the Imperiums if not more you lack their ability to throw army after army at a problem
also a lot of other armies are going to get more deadly then their 40k equivalents, the Eldar already ahve
You are underestimating how hard it is for a criminal to get from one world to another
as things are all creatures are purely your responsibility but that means if you take any offworld and they do any damage it could be very very bad for you (if it was a Siren who then killed a human you being deposed or kicked out of the Imperial Trust is a possiblity)
because someone going to Avernus and dying doing something dangerous is one thing but you taking a xenos creature offworld and it eating someones soul is another
their military can't permanently contaminate ecosystems, eat poeples souls ect.
also as things stand you will have to develop some system of getting taking Avernite creature offworld vetted or be blamed the first time there is an incident and given far more restrictions
metal is being used to make material, each material produced requires metal
Good thing that an Avernite is not part of the review board or else things they see as no dangers would get passed that could lead to the destruction of the whole Trust!
there is a good reason Avernites were banned
This is 40k there is no such thing as aerodynamics
Oh are colonies done by the star system or by the planet?
1: Does Asgard have any interest in us building them some Knight Engineers?
2: Does Vanaheim want to purchase any help on their colony founding?
4: Not allowed to buy colonists from Midgard any more?
5: Since Midgard has a Large Shipyard, can we purchase ships from them? (Up to Cruiser level?)
6: Since Asgard has a Small Shipyard, can we purchase ships from them? (Up to Escort level?)
1. Yes, they are among the other knights
2. No
4. No, the standard of living on Midgard has increased to the point that they do not want to move to Avernus for a better life
5. Not yet, they are focusing on building up they own defence fleet
6. No same
1) Do we have information on how Helheim's quarantine was handled During DAoT and Age of Strife?
2) Considering that food shipments is a major pathway for invasive species, will selling food to Midgard increase chance of something undesirable getting off-world?
3) Can we reduce risks of invasive species by moving all trading activities to Cumae orbit and implementing extensive quarantine/sterilization protocols?
1. No
2. Yes a bit
3. No, those protocols already exist
Which class is Vanaheim's flagship?
it seems to be a cross between a Hero Class Battleship and a Champion Class Battleship
So how The Well of Urd Would fare against the other Command Spaceships that we have found?
it would probably lose due to not being a dedicated warship
I mean, the only people who are probably better at boarding than us are Tyranids and SMs.
Nitpick: Custodes probably beat us too. Or Daemonships.
also the scarier Ork and Eldar
actually most eldar now
well Ork Waagh and Nid Hive fleets will be considered easy compared to what is to come
Presumably there must be stuff in there saying things like "there is much more we have to discover" like in all those wishy washy sciency thingies.
Given that what you have found are technical readouts, no there are not
, who won Kaurava in your setting?
sorry I got which one it was mixed up
Necrons won
I am not saying that there will not be a strain of super-nids who have taking something from the Orks what I am saying is that what is taken will be very different
I have already decided on the details
I will say that I considered spore-growth along with a few other ideas but will not tell you which idea won
And if Britton do as he has been doing with all the STCs and gives a copy to the Mechanicus?
I am not sure, they would definitely be willing to make an alliance with you
If we'd searched Storm's End first and found the STC Constructor During the early years, would you have restructured the Planetary Governor Quest to a Sector Governor Quest?
Unless Biel-tan mobilises their entire craftworld and dedicates themselves to destroying us, no one has the combination of quantity and quality necessary to kill us on the ground. Everything else can be fought off perpetually with natural birth counteracting the effects of attrition.
you are not the only force that are massively more powerful then their 40k equivalents, actually within a few thousand years most of the survivors will be
Eldar were the first to recive this boost
the difference between a pre-Yneard Eldar army and a current one is similar to the difference between a average imperial Guard army and a Avernite army with the tech you just found
It would be nice to find STC's for the DAoT starbases and defences that were in orbit around Avernus in the DAoT
very unlikely however, the only places left unexplored are the ruins on the lunar facilities which were pretty comprehensively razed
1.What chance do we have of finding the other parts of the Black Crystal armor?
2.When will Eugenetics start making a visible effect on the Avernite population
3.How exactly does the Juvnat work?
1. You have no clue
2. Quite some time, at the very least a hundred years after colonization and probably a lot more
3. In my world it is effectively youth drugs, when taken it can either prevent someone from aging or with a greater dose reverse the effects of aging. After a while lethal byproducts build up preventing any more from being taken which is whey basic can only extend your life by a hundred years
1) What do our advisors think about establishing a tradition of pan-Trust wargames?
2) Would Fabricator General Britton be open to having the Skitarii, the Techguard and the Titan Legions join in?
3) Would such a thing introduce economic maluses?
4) Would such a thing potentially strengthen inter-planetary bonds?
1. A worthwhile but expensive idea
2. He is fine with it
3. Yes
4. Yes, or weaken them
Given that the Planetary Governors fulfill the same role that the High Lords once did the execution for treason is not a problem, the reason is that you have the skills and experience to deal with psykers and no one else does
also if the psyker numbers grow high enough there ill be a push to give Ridcully a High Council seat and independence
there will be limits on what she can do even if she has enough learning to due Mechanicus
she will not be able to do anything at first but once you have started reforming the Mechancius she will be able to take forge actions
I am considering any world with 50 bil to be a Hive World
Can we have Syr study as a clergywoman? Her Pious trait shows that she has interest and the skills she'll pick up will be quite useful in a variety of areas.
no, Saint Lin is trying to have degree of separation of church and state and having a heir to a planetary governor train for the church would mess that up
What does Saint Lin think about the old noble favourite of Heir + Army + Navy + Church?
that it is possible but he only wants priests who have the calling, not those that join out of family duty
1.Not particularly, while Avernus may have been founded to assault deamon worlds that was when the Imperium existed, the situation has change so much that the old purpose is useless, you do not even know if their are any deamon worlds within a years travel distance
In general the resource colonies being envisioned would have an initial population between a million and a hundred million, be focused on producing large amount of raw materials and be on otherwise uninhabitable worlds. It is likely that they would have a relatively stable or slowly growing population, of which a major proportion is native. The native proportion is most likely almost entirely working class
don't underestimate nids and Orks
Can we tell if their main threat relative to where they were at the fall is numbers-based or if they've made significant advances in their individual stats? Cause I was more thinking that with our tech upgrades our normal ships could act in the role of fast ships against them pre-fall.
they were similar to they used to be when Garkill invaded, but that was over a hundred years ago for him
3. Since we already have the sheets for our most notorious generals, will we have the chance to get the sheets for our most legendary officers/soldiers (for example the leaders/heroes from the Governors Own, Phase Tigers, and/or Black irons)?
4. I think that we send some of our regiments to the Imperial Guard before the Empire collapsed, what were the review/reactions of the IG to the Avernites (more specifcely from their new Commanders and the normal soldiers)?
5. I don´t know if tthose Avernites of the IG may have fought alongside any Space Marine Chapters, if they did, What did the Astartes think about the Avernites?
3. yes I will be providing those sheets at some point
4. surise at how deadly and flexible they were, they were considered to be a terrifying hybrid of Catachans and Cadians
5. You do not know, possibly nothing or possibly suprise at how skilled they are
2. Is it heresy to worship a made-up god, even if you still primarily worship the Emperor? I'm just wondering if we can create Morr or Shallya or something.
3. Is xenos love still heresy?
2. yes
3. yes, though a bit less so
1. We had deathworlders, Dark Age tech, Beta psykers, a Living Saint, omakes galore, and the mother of all home ground advantages to help us win the fight. Terra aside, is there any other planet in the entire Imperium that could've survived this incursion on its own besides us?
2. Can we expect Jane to prepare a contingency plan in case of a future incursion?
1. Many astertes homeworlds, Cadia, Many forge worlds, Armageddon, some Fortress Worlds
2. yes
How many full fledged cadians do we have left in service? Have any retired to another profesion?
a bit over 10,000, a few thousand have retired
2) For future planning: On the event roll table, is it set up similarly for the other chaos gods? Cause a 1/1000 chance of this sort of event is very different from a 1/200 chance (5 major chaos gods)--for the later, there's about a 50% chance of another Incursion happening at some point in the next 200 years
did the DE even know the IT existed?
as far as you could tell no, there last information was from before the Emperor's death
3. Did the lions only help the Phase tigers, or were they all over the place helping.
9. Whats happened to the Turtle.
11. Did we see where the giant flesh thing went.
12. Has the wild life stopped attacking for a bit, or is it business as normal.
3. all over the place, the Phase-Tigers were just the only group they went out of their way to help
9. Its gone back to sleep, with several wounds
11. back south
12. attacks have decrease, probably as a result of casualties
1. What is our current admin bonus?
2) does it apply to upkeep, or also to building costs?
3)does each resource get the same reduction applied or does thrones have a bigger bonus reduction than exotic?
1. 51
2. both
3. all have the same bonus except AM which has a far lower bonus and EM which is even lower
10. How big a deal is a population trait
11. What are the parameters, if any, for getting a population wide trait like that
13. A proposition for the council, send greneder units and other elite troops to Avernus to be trained/ripped apart and encourage working with others. Possibility or no.
16. How much time do the GKs spend on Avernus.
18. How do title traits like Tranth's "Reclimator" and Garps "Resolute" appear? Is it just rolls, deeds or both.
10. Moderately
11. QM discretion
13. Possible
16. around half
18. both
1. Our requests for aid burned some of our relationship points with the other Trust members. In-universe, does that mean they have a lowered opinion of us or is it simply to reflect that they won't be giving us favours any time soon?
7. Back when we were preparing for Fjol IV we had the option to put all our psykers together to in a Grand Choir that would've let us perform massive psychic works. Could you give an example of just such a work?
10. Will our allies get their own versions of Lessons Learned for the fighting they're doing on Avernus?
11. Why does Speak to the People - basically just giving a speech to our citizens - cost the equivalent of $3.6 billion?
12. Will we have lost more to cults than we did to daemons?
7. attempting to bring down a large section of the walls, burning all harassers as they approach ect

1. Can we create an ad-hoc, short-range Astonomican by combining Xavier's power with Saint Lin's Light and Ridcully's control?
2. We lost a lot of relationship with Vanaheim due to their xenophobia. Will we gain back some of that reputation once our propaganda starts having an effect?

4. Is Svartalfheim willing to give Saint Lin free relics?
5. You gave +20 to reverse-engineering the plasma foil for my Wargear Acquisition omake, but we found the STC for it before we did the action. Is the omake bonus essentially wasted, then?

3. Unknown
4. He already has what he wants
5. Yes

2: When we start rolling out lots of AM goodies from the DAoT cache, will our admin savings increase in percentage there?
1 Jane is the head of the Arbites in Avernus, but what it´s her official title?
2 How do her subordinates refer to her when they are speaking to her Miss, Lady, Headmaster, boss...?
3 The Arbites are basically the Empire police but how are the ranks organized?
4 The Arbites is organized in different departments (Arson, Vice, Homicide, etc.) or not?
1. Arbitrator
2. Sir or Arbitrator Oakheart
3. first they are split into Arbites (thing Judge Dredd Judges) and Police (more normal) then within these groups there are different ranks (think modern loice for Police and more simple for Arbites
4. yes
1) How do the regular education system and the Schola Progenium compare in terms of content and quality?
2) Could we combine the two into one education system that holds the advantages of both, or are they incompatible in terms of students and curriculum goals?
1. the regular education system is not as good as the Schola Progenium but is far less specialized
2. no, they are incompatible
1) Would the Mechanicus be open to facilities that produce AM and EM, manned by common workers? I basically want factories that produce AM and EM just like how normal factories produce Material.
2) Would a pan-Trust cultural exchange program be feasible? Something to raise the minimum relations value threshold.
there is a chance of encountering a hilariously overmatched opponent and if it happens the battle will likely be a small interlude rather then something you command
, I just googled the worth of Earth and it has it at $3-5 quadrillion. The new psyker city costs $1 quadrillion in Thrones alone. Where are we getting all that money and resources?
a vastly different and more advanced economy, basically you are asking why people can undertake billion dollar projects when two hundred years ago there was not that much money in existence
1. Why is this, by the way? It would make sense for mothers to have their child gestate in a secure lab so their combat efficiency doesn't drop from pregnancy, wouldn't it?
2. This would've been studied by the Imperium over the last 10k years, so do they have any idea why?
3. By more susceptible to possession, do you mean while they're gestating or even long after they're born?
1. tradition and 2
2. no they do not
3. even after being born
1. You said that some space marine chapters had started using impalers why?
2. Did the inquisition, specifically Ultan, know of any chapter that would have been interested in using Avernus as a recruiting world, cause space marines like death world recruits.
3. Has any chapter used the Nine worlds as a recruiting ground before as records of that would have been kept
1.because they are as good or better then bolters in almsot all respects, can piece armour better and have far better ammunition capacity
2. no
3. no
1) Can we arrange for our advisers to spend time with one another? It'd be great for them to pad out each other's stat deficiencies.
2) What would be the effect and feasibility of partial integration of Arbites and Mechanicus' internal security forces to fight Chaos? By that I mean have them share security-related data and internal workings of their respective forces for better coordination and Chaos-taint recognition.
3) Could Saint Lin be officially inducted into the Cult Mechanicus so that he can go through Mechanicus rituals to find all Chaos-tainted ones?
1. yes
2. political suicide
3. No
Any chance we can have Lin give some advice on religious reformation? Combined with his Scholar of Faiths trait he should be able to dispense some useful and relevant advice.
you could try, it is unlikely to have a lot of impact however, the Mehcnaicus is very different for the Imperial Church in almost every way
1. Do we know the language of the Dark Age of technology
2. If so have any of its phrases migrated to Avernite language due to constant exposure to new STC's and the close relations with the Admech
3. Does Svartfulhiem have the equivalent of the Forge cathedral and cathedral Forge
5. What is relic material, obviously it is material of the highest quality used for making relics, but if advanced material is stuff like adamantium what is relic.
6. How good are Avernite construction teams, cause due constantly having to repair things from the wildlife at high speed I imagine pretty good.
1. yes
2. a few
3. no they ave a different less centralized system
5. it is things like exitus rifles, vortex grenades ect
6. the best
5. Will we have an option to figure out what makes the Monitor invisible at some point? We know its there after all and it seems useful.
6. What level of militia is Midgard instituting?
7. What were the issues with it that Klovis advised upon?
5. Yes
6. medium
7. the issues you would expect from forcing a major cultral change to a population of a hundred and fifty billion
2. What level of examination do we need to do on wildlife before we get the option to try to figure out its powers with the Telepathica, and does doing a higher level of examination first improve our odds?
2. it changes with the species and yes
Deus Ex Mecanicus did not happen in this quest, I am just taking a bit of inspiration from it for one of the post Imlerial factions
yes, shoot the big ones is one of the few commands that Orks will easily obey
, do we know who sent want fleet in the Cocceio Graveyard? I'm writing something about ship design methodologies, and I would like to know the thinking that went into making them. I'm assuming the lack of a Cheap CL and BC is due to redundancy/lack of fleet role, but the lack of a Fast Grand Cruiser is puzzling.
no, you know that there was a mix of Men of Iron and Dark Age human fleets as well as who owed the command battleships but the rest is unknown
Could you tell me your thoughts/reasoning for how you designed them? I'm having Parnell write an analysis of what he thinks the divergences are and why.
if you ask me specific questions I should be able to remember
I know that the reason for the lack of cheap CL and BC was the lack of useful roles, the lack of fast GC was pure chance (there were a few holes that I rolled for) though it could be attributed to several things (being to close to Fast BS for example and not capable of doing that much more then fast BC)
Just one for my curiosity, and because I did it once, but what would happen if you threw a votrex grenade at a geller field while entering the warp?
no one knows, if anyone has been desperate enough to try there were no survivors
if a Hellguard where to get into a hand to hand fight with a Ork could they win.
if it is an Ork Boy yes, the chance of victory drops pretty fast as the Ork gets bigger however
what is a Catachans death worlder Bonus
would we need to do certain things for the genetic engineering options? Also what are some examples of the benefits of the genetic engineering we could do?
not many to be honest
A theoretical scenario let's say we get invaded by a chaos force of X size and strength and they were to attempt to turn Avernus into a damon world how bad would that be.
well game over anyway, I will not say exactly what would happen but you (as in Avernites)would not suvive
actually restarting up the quest as the leader of the Avernite Diaspora might be interesting
2. Since force conduct system is out can we see if we can make force armor and helmet.
2. you can try after you ahve set up an artisans city. given that Eldar are the only people in 40k with one it will not be easy
how viable is my warp musical instrument idea?
possible but very Slaneeshi
how do Catachans deal with all the stress, trauma, and combat fatigue from living on their death world.
I am not sure, a large part of it is having grown up with it and the rest is a mix of culture and their branch of human having adapted to it
, are there any among the Adeptus Arbites who disapprove of Jane's unlawful actions?
yes, though not many given that they were local laws that were broken
super elites fill a different role then Space Marines, they are agents rather then soldiers
1. Do we have Illuminati, humans who have exorcised the daemons from themselves?
1a. Is it possible to obtain one?
2. And also Cognoscynths?
2a. Are they an possibility?
3. What about Empaths?
1. no, unknown
2. no, unknown
3. ditto
Not really, there are plenty of things that can still steamroll us.
yes there are, 8 off the top of my head (and that is steamroll you on Avernus)
Does that include Avernus itself?
Would Avernus get priority/preference for colonizing any newly discovered Deathworlds?
2.What is our new symbol since Aquila was corrupted?
2. currently you are using a field of nine stars
1) Do Ultramarines know anything about Dragon Cultists?
1. yes, that they are a heretical cult in the Mechanicus that worships Necrons
That was after the dark age of technology where literally every friendly Xenos race either betrayed mankind in a giant orgy of violence or was killed/enslaved/corrupted by the races that betrayed and preyed upon mankind in said orgy of violence.

The imperium was so traumatized by what happened and what they found reclaiming planets they adopted their current attitude.
I have always viewed that period as a war of everyone vs everyone, the xenos were no more at fault then the humans
1) Did Captain Julius pass Abryke? Is it still a human world?
1. yes, it is lifeless due to Tyranids
1. Just checking, have we found any perpetuals?
2. Would any perpetual/empath/cognoscyth/omega blank/other rare and unusual/ character be given a character sheet?
3. What are the sorts of conditions that would cause a character to gain a character sheet?
4. What sort of traits/unusual abilities would be annoted on the Primaris list? (So far I've seen 'Healer' and 'Bonded with Siren Lady')
1. you have no clue what a perpetual is
2. probably
3. them being one of a kind and interesting enough for me to take the time to make one, or being in a powerful enough position
4. whatever seems fitting
on the topic of Necrons I will mention that there has been a decrease in Necron aggression since M40, along with signs that they are mustering for some unknown and ongoing war
1. What do we know about the Old Ones
a. The Phoenix Lords
2. Have the Varangian guard had any encounters with the Eldar since Yneed did its thing?
1. that they were an ancient race of aliens that fought the Necrons and either uplifted or created both the Eldar and the Orks
a. that thy are deadly Eldar that can come back after dying ad are effectively the Eldar Primarchs
2. only Dark Eldar
1) Has Jane updated Avernus' internal security to cope with Muspelheim's long-range communicator?
2) If so, have we caught anyone?
1. yes
2. no, but given that they gave you the tech they either made sure they couldn't be found using it or are not there in the first place, so far there is no evidence of Muspelheim having a Spy Network. Of course Jane is convinced that they and Niflheim have the best spies in the Imperial Trust due to this but being paranoid is her job
2. Who would win in battle between an Astartes Chapter and a Psyker Regiment ?
actually according to Chapter Master Julius the major powers still sue Imperial Era fleets, they are just not anywhere near you
, I'm thinking about hatching out an omake about what the Dragon Nest's Intel section could assemble on their first pass at us. Anything you would like me to mention/hammer on?
I would like to mention that they are not sure whether yo have been corrupted by the Abomination and have little idea about the conditions of your ground forces
4. Is there a material above RM! If so have you decided on a name?
8. Could a possible 1 year repeating action be "cultist" hunt despite there be very few of them?
8a. How about "Identify Spies"?
4. yes, Artifact Material
8. no
8a. yes
2. Do (Svartalfheim) they produce that material as well?
3. What would be its shortcut? AM is already used and a three character one (for example ARM) seems unfitting. (Maybe 'CM'?)
2. Currently no human group that you know of can produce Artifact Material, and this has been the case since Mars fell
3. no shortcut
, do the Artifacts of Vulkan count as Artifacts or High Relics?
a mix, mostly high relics
, can we do a megaproject? 40k is a setting where they're useful, so a few decades building a really big thing loaded with Dark Age tech will be useful. By "megaproject", I mean something like the Phalanx, to take an example.
, do canon wildlife omakes increase the deathworlder bonus?
1. Could I have an overview of how you determine our resource production? (Thrones, Metal, Material, AM, EM, etc)
2. Does city size influence defences, apart from the defence bonus?
1. the base is determined by population and the modifiers for education, factories and technology while the bonus is determined entirely by buildings and technology. As cities get larger the productivity actually goes down a bit to represent inefficiencies
2. yes, the amount of firepower a city has doubles every extra size category and the shield level increases by one
1. Can Muspelheim give us a definite location of the other two research posts?
2. Do they know what Helhiem was researching before MOI
3. Do their records show a reason for the MOI rebelling
1. no
2. Psychic phenomena, and Spacetime
3. no they record several dozen ideas that were debated at the time, ranging from virus to Chaos to Eldar to human mistreatment but have no idea as to which, if any, is correct. There is actually a theory by some of the more recent Muspelheim Historians that it was a group of Necrons that remained awake and considered that humanity could develop into a threat, though said theory has no evidence for it.
Can't we just Deathstrike or Artillery Garkill to death?
killing 40k high heroes using that sort of tactic rarely works, remember that Rule of Cool is a Law of Physics here
made moreso by him being the leader of a major Ork Waaagh in the middle of his army
2. What color skeme do the Blood Dragons have? ((I imagine the Varangian guard have seen them))
2. primary color gold, secondary color red
Is there Avernite Slash fics about this?
But of course Rule of Cool is a law of physics in 40k how else would drive me closer so I can hit them with my sword be a valid battle strategy:V and he's a Space Marine, I am talking about your average human preforming feats of memetic badassry.
that is how I am playing it
the Tau took a log time to figure it out
I wonder what Avernite lawyers are like. Do we have lawyers in WH40k?
yes, though the court systems are rather different
1. What had the Vangarian Guard expected from the new armor?
2. What is/was their opinion/reaction on the discrepance between the expected and delivered work of Thrant?
3. Is there something (equipment/vehicals) that the VG is missing from what a regular chapter had? If yes what is it and how much do they want to have it again? (Excluding stuff they have more advanced versions of now)
1. they expected basically larger version of Advanced Power Armour
2. incredible joy and sending several techmarines to study under him
3. terminator armour, a few Astartes only vehicles, though you have better versions of most of those
2. What was the rest of the council's reaction to Surt's proposal to contact chaos polities?
2. horror and then fear as they wondered how worried he must be to suggest that
If you are looking for something for nothing a selfless reputation is what you need, especially given that you are looking for assistance with colonisation not combat
1. there is a series of legends, it sums up to taking being Lamenters to the extreme, both the good and the bad
one of the common legends is that their luck got so bad they they were scatters into small groups or even individuals and that were they appear disaster will soon follow. they often end up defeating the disaster but dying in the process
a common line in their legends is "of all of the Son's of the Angel they have stepped furthest on the Path of Doom, and their heroism is matched only by their cursed fate"
1) Are requirements to a Princeps of a big Titan much higher than to a Knight pilot?
2) Are any of minor alien civilizations we've found corrupted?
3) Are any of them useful or just interesting?

11) Do we have any idea if they're actually attract problems or just subconsciously attracted to problems? Or both?
12) Did we tried to bypass Questling Beast stranger effect?
13) What's happening with written depictions and with drawings?
14) Did he described it to strong psykers, to Saint Lin and to blanks?
15) Do we have lists of things that Questling Beast isn't? "It is not a plant, it is not colonel Brindos, it's not pink with violet squares, it doesn't have power to turn stone liquid..."
16) Does Ridcully have any insight if it's the Eldar who awakened Ork gods? Maybe they know that it will happen because it's their work? That passage about old allies...
1. yes
2. yes some
3. not really, most are pretty young and several only exist as Ork slaves
4. not very on Avernus, badly if you took them offworld. there is a lot of fear of Avernite lifeforms that is not limited to conservatives (totally rational fear)
5. bad idea, a Siren going out of control and eating a allies soul is a worst case scenario (Imperial Trust declaring war on Aernus worst case)
6. no
7. a lot, one to three orders of magnitude
8. yes and no
9. safrer but by no means safe, also to expensive and cryolsleep is not very safe at all, at least in numbers. this has come up a lot I should emphasis that anything that looks like going reeving to capture souls would lead to major diplomatic issues both within the Imperial Trust and with external groups (the only other people who do that are Dark Eldar and Chaos)
10. they range massively in realism but there probably is one close, it is very rare to see more then 2 at a time these days though and they refuse to stay put due to the danger that brings on all around them
11. unknown, there are rumors says both
12. yes, you failed
13. it blurs
14. yes to the first two and to Niflheimers, who are not really true blanks
15. no
16. no

2) How's testing for that potential is done? For both Knights and Titans?
3) How much knight potential is hereditary?
4) So, nobody does mind sacrificing the chaos xeno, but actually raiding them for slaves viewed not so lightly?
5) How close is the closest Chaos Xeno civilization?
6) Did we tried to make lists of things that Questling Beast isn't and it didn't worked too, or we didn't tried?
7) Are we sure that there is no abhumans evolved from original Helheim colonists around?
8) So, are we sure that worshipers of Planetary Mind come to it purely on their own, and there is no some subtle influence?
9) Does their faith protects them from Chaos corruption the same way as faith in the Emperor was when he was still alive?
10) Does it give any other benefits that can be a work of Avernus?
1. you are not sure, they are done by different secretive organisations

5. hundreds of light years
6. it did not work
7. no
8. no
9. no
10. no
I get a feeling astartes-specific gear is overpriced in this trade. Also it's not even trade: we are overpaying.
Yes it is, Astates are very unwilling to give out their secrets, the fact that it is even on the table is a massive show of trust. This is some of their greatest technology and wars have been fought over it in the past.
1. did the Varangian guard noticed any changes to the blood dragon compared to what they last remember?
2.how did the blood dragon reacted to the guard and trust?
1. a bit more agressie and with around 20 less worlds
2. hard to tell but dibeleif was a major feeling. the Trust is to good to be true
If I'm understanding this right, it's actually much more likely for a person that doesn't belong to a Knight house to be able to pilot a Titan than to be able to pilot a Knight.
yes far, being able to pilot a Titan is a matter of will and training, no genetics required
2. Is Sanctus Fuorum a Mars Alpha pattern (it was made on Mars during or slightly before the Great Crusade after all)
3. The other two Warlord titans Mars Beta or Lucius Alpha patterns.
4. How big are the Warlords in your interpretation, cause it can range from 33 to 200 metres.

7. (probably been asked, but if it has I can't find it) How long is Schwartz expected to live for seeing how he's mostly mechanical now?
10. Compared to the Imperium is Syr particularly xenophobic? I mean she was born only a few years after the Quartok arrived, and Lin tutored her personally, but I can't tell from the surface.
11. Compared to when they first arrived (People as skilled as Helltroopers main military=to Helguard) how do the Quartok compare militarily now?

25. Does Tranth know enough about Volkite weapons that he thinks he could have a stab at making one?
1. there is a chance that decedents will have it
2. yes
3. possibly yes or neither or weakened versions of one or the other or both
6. polotics, he is now head of the oppostion and seems to be planning on staying that way for a while
7. 700 to 800 years
10. compared to the Imerium no, compared to a normal modern human very
11. lower average skill, still better then their equivilents among humans however
14. he does not seem to have one
17. no
18. no
21. no
22. no Helheim Pattern
23. ditto
24. yes
25. no, he knows that they exited and that is about all

3) How would Mechanicus react?
4) So, how much time it would take for DarkMech fleets from Atlas to reach us?

7) Are Artisans, or at least some of them, members of AdMech, like Techmarines?

4. weeks
5. yes, also if they are describing something more likely
6. eventually
7. no

1. yes
4. they love it, though they don't think they will be able to use it any more then standard astates use Terminator Armour (in other words only some heroes and some of their veterans)

1. Does Tranth have ideas to upgrade/optimise Neutron weapons and the like? (Obviously doing something so explicit ATM is stupid, I'm more curious as to whether he has ideas? He obviously does have ideas on upgrades and sneaks them in when he can get away with it such as the recon armour's stealth)
2. Seeing as Tranth was able to modify the ammo/Impaler sniper rifle to use the Acid round and Shield Breaker round can he add the ability to use advanced ammo to other impalers (as in theoretically could he, not can he)

1) Do we know in-character that Kroot somehow use warp presence of planets with biospheres to navigate?
2) About Space Wolves' Rune Priests allegedly using powers of Fenris?
3) Can we get an action to research spiritual side of planets anytime soon, or we don't have the prerequisite knowledge?
4) Is manipulating a Waagh to invade Valinor is an even worse idea or a better idea? Orks are very resistant to corruption, will become even more so after awakening of their gods, and of all Chaos Gods least likely to fall to Abomination. Yeah, it may result in orks tough enough to take on a Daemon World, but...
5) Did Ridcully noticed any signs that not all Eldar participated in the ritual voluntarily during the vision of Ynnead's birth?
1. no
2. no
3. don't have the knowledge
4. not a bad idea, though you have no clue how easy to manipulate post Awakening Orks will be
5. no he did not, the opposite in fact
1) What's Avernites' opinion on invasive symbiotic species in general, and on people who are crazy enough to use them? I need it for a wildlife omake.
2) Also, is it legal to willingly infest yourself with such species?
3) How close was the group of Eldar which Ridcully contacted, and in which direction?
4) Did he identified former Dark Eldar among them, and were they using Grotesques and Pain Engines, or something similar?
5) Also, can he tell where ritual of Ynnead's birth took place?
6) Is Asgard a hospitable Earth-like planet, or am I misremembering it? What is it's climate?
7) What is their demographic policy? It seems like they slow down population growth to keep percent of Aesir the same.
1. Another danger of Avernus that only the crazy would invest the, selves with
2. It is not exactly illegal though it would be illegal to enter a settlement after being infested and not to have them removed
4. No
5. No
6. Yes
7. They do not have one, and are not tying the classes numbers together, where did you get that idea
1. This one is for my curiosity, but the Old One defence stations, could we tell if they were roughly analogous to the Defence Stations we've been building (for clarification as to the size and purpose I am referring too I mean these ones
1. a bit bigger but not as bug as a Ramiles
Is there a difference between Cadian style militia and Avernus style militia?
1. BTW Do the Muspal archives have any idea how the MoI were beaten? Old fashioned we will fight them on the beaches type stuff or super weapon of some kind?
1. a combination of the two along with a bit of outside intervention (The Emperor ect) , though in the local region the MOI disapeared shortly after winning the battle of Helheim. with current knowledge there is speculation that made a mistake with Avernus
1. Can astartes use the education chairs?
2. These are questions for Nif and Mus (so effectively Surt I guess). What were the roles of Muspelheim and Nifleheim during the Dark Age of technology. They were the three original colony worlds in the nine worlds, with Avernus serving as a research centre and at first centre of government with the roles of the rest of the nine worlds we either know or can guess at, but of Nifleheim and Muspelheim we know nothing.
4. How did Muspelheim and Niflehiem retain the expertise to effectively remove the psyker gene from it's population after the age of strife had begun. In fact how did they have the expertise to remove it from not only their own populations (which we assume were comparatively small) and Svartalfheim?
5. Do they know what technology was included in the treaty that Malcador the Sigilite over saw between Svartalfheim and the Mechanicus?
6. Was the "gift" (bribe) they gave to Svartalfhiem connected to the treaty between the two, or the technology that was handed over?
7. Where and how were the Jotun created? Did Muspelheim create them as they seem to have a certain expertise in genetic engineering if the Psyker gene removal is any indication.
8. Were either Muspelheim and Niflehiem attacked during the war of Iron?
9. What happened to the Men of Stone of the Nine worlds?
10. When was the Well of Urd created and launched?
11. Crap I forgot: How practical is it for the Guard to give their marines a Combi weapon (so a all tactical marines have a Neutron/X gun?) Compared to their numbers that doesn't seem too pricey?
1. yes
2. Muspelheim was a mining world/research world focusing on thermal energy. Niflheim a promethium mining world and eugenics experiment.
4. unknown, luck possibly. also if the Mechanicus could do it, and they did, it would not be that hard for someone who at the time had most of a DAoT tech base that had a massive amount of research into psykers and their genes
5. no
6. between the two but Klovis-Ultan suspects that it is the secrets of fire
7. they were created on Helheim for the colonization of Jotunheim
8. yes but were not the main targets, the main Men of Iron efforts in the sub-sector were aimed at Helheim
9. unknown, presumably destroyed int eh war or lost in the age of strife
10. it was created around 1 k years before the age of strife and launched soon after
11. it is possibly but a bit awkward, a combi weapon is a lot more bulky then a normal weapon as so has its downsides.
I'm more interested in the fact that they managed at all to affect their population's position on the "psyker-spectrum". Implies that it might be possible the other way around. Isn't this something Durin repeats constantly that we can't do?
yes you can't
DAoT humanity with 10,000 years or more, AIs and a less active Warp on the other hand could
there are a lot of things that you can not do that DAoT humanity could
2. With Tamia's new power if we'd used the second power she created to destabilize the ritual Garkill used on Saelem... how much collateral should we have expected.
2. it would fail unless an alpha was using it and rolled really well, you need to create the Choir version for that scale. if it succedde unknwon, I would roll on a table that included things like new target, reduced power, warp rift, kill wiedboyz, nothing happens and random power used at lower strength
How many human polities were warned (of the Green Awakening)?
you are not sure as you warned people who warned people ect. you doubt the warning traveled more then ten thousand light years however, any by the end of that it would be a rumor more then anything
1. Do we have records on how many people, ahem, randomly died to the Awakening?
as a general note while most of the Warp Storms in the galaxy were extinguished by the Green Awakening a large number of them restarted shortly afterwards
1 Does Lin think he could train some people in the art of soul medicine? He has done it enough to be considered an expert.
2 Does Lin know enough about souls to create some form of soul exercise regime?
3 Has there been any change in how wildlife treat Ridcully?
3b What do the Sirens think of the most skilled mortal Diviner to ever live?
4 Did the Awakening have any effect on the wildlife? Many of the Avernus species are psykers after all.
5 Can Ridcully link with Klovis like he does with Tranth?
5b Would this help or hinder when trying to contact people over the warp?
6 (Just for fun) Which of our heroic individuals hunted down and killed the overgrown octopus that killed our beloved bureaucrat?
1. no
2. no
3. not yet
3b. you are not sure, he is not Ridcully
4. it does not seem to have, you suspect that Avernus is to blame
5. yes
5b. not at all
6. Xaiver, he roasted it
1. Is Ridcully willing to guess that the Destroyer (from his Ultramar divination) is the Krork?
3. Does Ridcully think Gork and Mork can keep up the boost indefinitely? On the one hand they are orks exponential stuff like this is kind of their thing, but can they keep blessing their entire trillions strong species at the same time? They maybe stronger than chaos, but... on the other hand Orks do produce their own Waaagh energy.
4. When Ridcully says the warp rifts are gone, does he mean that in the sense that they're "gone" as in vanished and everything that was in them is gone, or gone as in the warp and reality are no long jumbled together, but the planets that were there are all still there as demon worlds?
5. Are there upgraded forms of the Master Researcher trait?
9. IIRC you once said that 500 was about 30 in terms of combat, what is 590 at?
10. Has/should the juv nat bonus of the PDF increase? They have had an increase in their toughness so the number of veterans they have should increase.
1. not the Krok
3. yes
4. Warp Storm not Rift and they ended and then in many cases restored a bit smaller
5. yes
9. 32
10. it is increasing faster
3 How big a party was thrown when Ridcully announced that Primarch Vulkan was up and about?
Can we make virus torpedoes and conduct other forms of biological warfare?
yes you could, it may be useful against human opponents
1. Which is better for gathering information close to us, Greater Divination or Focused?
2. Which of the four Divination actions (greater, attacks, focused, "vanilla") is best for getting information about the incoming Ork attack, particularly the when, where and force composition?
1. it depends on the information, if you want something rely specific such as fleet locations or a character sheet Focused, if you want something broader such as military strength, plans or similar then greater.
2. if it is heading at you attacks, if it is not then greater gets a better overview, focused gets more details on single aspect, such as when where or force composition
2. Does Horatius have any suggestions for fighting potential Archangyles? (better to know and not need it than need it and not know)
4. Actually does Horatius/the Varangian guard in general have suggestions for fighting fallen sisters and abomination marines, besides the standard tactics. Special tricks they can pull off ect.
2. pretty much treat them like Greater Deamons, he does warn to be careful about deploying unwarded armour against them as the Archangyls have better mind control then any of their equivalents, and amour is more vulnerable to mind control then other units
4. a few small scale ones but not many. they do tell you if you can get a copy of the Abomination battle plans however it can be a massive advantage due to their disinclination to change the.
3. How valuable are favors, what might we expect out of them?
3. major favor: major economic support for a few decades or major military support for a war
honorbound four: major economic support for a century or devoting at least half of your military to a war
or equivalent
1) does Ember-verse have anything like WHF's Great Vortex, a Warp ritual designed to siphon Warp energy out of realspace and pump it back into the Warp?
1. not to near that scale but yes
A Death Company? Aren't those the lunatics who think they are Sanguinius and will fight like blood drunk madmen?
yes they are a lose cannon, on the other hand they are a very deadly lose cannon that you can deploy in situations where charge is the best option
and basic knowldege of the Black Rage has spread in the years since the Fall of the Imeprium, in this region anyway
1) Are K'nib a big thing here? In canon, they had much bigger in galaxy than playable Tau, even though we know about them only that they are 10-limbed creatures made by Old Ones.
1. No, they still exist but have lost ground
1. Given that Ridcully called em the Unforgiven (which I'm pretty sure is an inside name for the DA+ successors) do we know about the fall of Caliban ect.
1. no, he saw the name without seeing its history
2. While we were there I wanted to ask whether or not the Muspel Archives or Surt knew what set the MoI to rebel? Better to know if it is something they know.
2. Unknown cause, Eldar action is a possibility as is Chaos meddling or just a programming issue
the naming pattern for Legends is simple, they are named after legendary figures
the main issue with this is the Lamneters have been regulated to groups of five or less (usually 1 or 2) for hundreds of years by their luck, and as such generally have destroyers crewed by those they have saved
one more thing I would change is adding a copy of the standard training regime to the corpses of his brothers along with the making of an Astartes how to, no survivors has happened enough in the past to the Lamenters that they have procedures in place for it
which is in itself depressing
the general tradition is to make a Lamneter squad, given them an escort and then send them into the galaxy before they have more then a few decades experience
the luck generally takes a while to kick in
Man how much has this messed with Lamenter culture, as much as scattered bands across the galaxy can have culture, if they are constantly having mini foundings like this. Like if two Lamenter groups intersect how different would they be because while geneseed resonance can do a lot I don't think it make complete strangers with completely different histories recognizably similar.
they have learned to keep secure data that they pass on copies of to their descendants, whether they meet them or not. also the nature of a Lamenter leads to a lot of overlap no matter what. they all have the same doom upon them.
they also share what they know when they meet another lamenter, which occasionally happens en mass when dozens or hundreds of bands find themselves in a single place just before a disaster. it is rumored that the entire chapter was present for the Fall of Medusa
while there have been a lot of changes there is still a surprisingly intact culture
that's both beautiful and really fucked up. Grimdark at it's best.
thank you, that is what I am aiming for
I mean, it would work, but I think mounting the governor's own and Freddy on jetbikes would do better.
Even works with the Rule of Cool. Especially if you style their armour after knights
on penal legions they are by nature unreliable forces with poor morale. you could use them in desperation but never against chaos and in general it is more effective to deploy regulars then ship cannon fodder to distant worlds
on sending criminals to Avernus that would lead to even more dissociation between Avernus and the Trust, if the most common foreigner you encounter is criminals it would lead to a bad view of offworlders in general.
1. It is better that criminals are put in danger, than good law abiding citizens.
2. If they die on the battlefield, then they aren't occupying prison cells, costing us money. As penal troops they are actually productive, if not as productive as regulars. [edit] Although we probably are putting our prisoners to work.
3. If the scum of the Trust die on distant ork worlds, then they will have been removed from the gene pool, saving us future expenses in socially inherited dysfunction.
4. They don't have to be paid in money when they can fight for freedom, when money is a concern.
1. any danger they prevent is counteracted by the danger that armed criminals who may believe that they have nothing to lose near your forces provides
2. regulars are more cost effective after taking that into account. among other things pay is a small proportion of the cost of a regiment compared to equipment and transport costs, you need to either deal with the major discipline risks that they pose to nearby units including that of actual mutiny if they think that they are going to be sent of suicide missions, which is another cost that is multiplied by being on the end of a supply line, and its not like you have prison without forced labour for large numbers anywhere on the Trust to begin with.
3. executing them has the same effect without costing as much
4. this is to small to matter

in other words while they may have some uses the risks that they pose outweigh any small benefits that they provide, especially as they are a force that lacks the Imperial Trusts greatest strength, discipline by their very nature.

the only place it may be cost effect to deploy them is on your own worlds, which is the last place you want to deploy them
1. Nothing to lose besides a chance at freedom, or at least better conditions in the prison.
3. We don't execute all our criminals. Surely some prison-labourers with really long sentences would volunteer if given above incentives.
[edit] But I can understand why that simply might not be politically or socially advisable.
1. ??
it not that its not politically viable it is that it is exchanging the reliability of your forces for a unit of dubious value and cost effectiveness, that the greater the amount of use you get out of it the greater the chance that it will literally revolt
, how big are hives?
thousands of cubic kilometres, over ten thousand for Dis, so compared to Dis even a Battleship (between ten and twenty cubic kilometres) is small.
1. What do the Abomination plans say if wr start using Rad/Chem/Bio?
a. Are their protocols good enough that it isn't impractical for Regular troop movement?
1. wear NBC wargear and use psykers to clean up, use elites and mutants as spearhead as they are resistant
1a. given time yes. remember the forces of the Abomination are capable of fighting Nurgle, if you can't deal with this sort of thing then the first time you face the plague god you are dead. or wishing you were dead.
2. Would our Titan Killers get an advantage for being inside the city? They'd have cover/things in the way that can take/soften a shot form a titan gun
2. yes, the cities void shields would be the biggest benefit. given that most of your titan killers are somewhat glass cannon that is massive (by glass canon I mean that they could be oneshotted by themselves)
4. Curiosity question, how is this going to be perceived by the rest of the Trust? I mean the leaders we can probably tell "oh we didn't crush them because of the First", but what about the general public? What are we going to tell them is the reason behind why we didn't smash the abomination like an egg?
4. You are trusted enough as a general that there will be no issues with the Trust
1. How high up the totem poll would one need to be to know about an Exalted in the Trust?
not very, you told everyone of at least Brigadier rank and did not classify it, so a large portion of your army either was told or figured it out. less known in the navy but it is know to every Lord-Captain or above
on warhammer fantasy comparisons, I look for ideas in fantasy as well as 40k but do not consider anything in it canon (barring the High Elf Gods are the Eldar gods, fantasy goes into a lot more details about them)
1. Because it came up what is our exact knowledge of the Sanguinor?
1. you have rumors that it exited
1. Can Demegoyre move ships through Valinor?
1. You've mention that if we do something stupid to Avernus (like say infect it with rad) it would do things so horrible to us that the Trust would be scarred for generations? Are you willing to say what kind of things we could expect?
2. Can Avernus go to the Trust (by which I mean if sufficiently pissed could Avernus launch an attack on...say Midgard)?
3. How many psykers of say...beta level would be needed to create a presence powerful enough to beat Slaanesh (currently the weakest chaos god) in the face, if not beat it?
4. Did we have any opportunity to rescue Isha when the orks awakened?
5. Would the Black Crystal blade kill a God (i.e. Khorne/ Gork and Mork) if it were stabbed into the heart of the God's warp Avatar?
6. How big can the Black Crystal Sword get? It resizes itself, so if Sigurd used it with Garm would it grow to a length Garm could use it?
7. Has anyone tried to clone Rotbart?
8. Is the general who oversaw the cluster **** of an abominite invasion being adequately punished by the abomination, if yes how?
9. Is one of the abomination's torture's being eternally crushed under enormous piles of paper work that must be filled out in triplicate?
10. Is there a bar in the eye of terror/vortex/eye of terra where our kidnapped Avernite psykers hang out to exchange stories?
11. What is Terra currently like ATM?
12. Is it possible for the Ultramarines and Tau to have a psydo olympics to try and decrease tensions? The Astartes as astartes and the Tau in specially designed suits for the different events?
13. Will Vulkan go through orkish spasms ocasionally ITEHATTSPD style?
14. Would importing Catachanian wildlife be met with a thumbs up or thumbs down from the Planet Mind?
15. Does the Silent King still celebrate his birthday, if so when and how?
1. lets just say that you don't have any clue about what one of the Great Ones does...
2. not saying, probably to some extent
3. 10,000+ that is the hurt him
4. well you did not but I was rolling to see if the Eldar could pull it off (they failed)
5. unknown, possibly
6. it can reach around 4m long, so small for a Knight-Titan but not tiny
7. not that you know of
8. lets just say he has kept full control of his facilities and been made one of the lowest of slaves and incapable of refusing any order from anyone
9. it is now
10. not a bar but they do meet up. there are horror stories told of Jane and Aria, who have somehow been combined into one person by their rumors
11. it looks a lot like it was rumored to look like in the Imperium, but full of Angyls that are currently at war with Mars. they are losing ever so slowly
12. it could be
13. no
14. probably thumbs up and taking notes. also riots from the populace about giving Avernus ideas.
15. no
1.) Gods give favor to those who fall without being dragged into damnation. How much favor could we get if Rotbart chose to fall? B.) Which God would want him the most?
2.) Supposing he fell, what percentage of Avernus would fall with him? What about the Governor's Own?
3.) Considering that our current advisers include a.) The best human oracle ever b.) A Paragon Witch Hunter c.) an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor Lord and d.) the last Living Saint, what are the odds that we could kill/corrupt them all?
4.) Now for something less heretical: Tech Heresy. How much tech could we trade to xenos before the Ad Mech shoots us?
5.) There are not enough BEEEEEEES! on Avernus. This isn't a question, please fix this.
6.) How would Pink Skies go, if it happened again as we are now? (Assume Rotbart doesn't cause it)
7.) Could we get away with enslaving one of the People's of Avernus?
1. incredible amounts, pretty much instant princedom from Khorne
2. it depends but at least half of Avernus and three qurters of the Own would fall with him
3. near zero, one or two of them with luck, but not all four
4. pretty much steam
5. good idea
6. less then half the losses you suffered last time, out of a far larger popualtion
7. you dont know, maybe
then consider the fact that I can categorically say that it would be worse if Ridcully fell, far far worse.
1. are avantie boy bands a thing?
2. what if any human-produced music is popular with the natives?
3. are nyne girl bands a thing?
3B. if so are they popular with humans?
4. why did the planet pick spiders as the species of assholes?
5. how much does Arachnea lord of spiders hate their job?
6. seriously, he signed on for filling a niche catching insects, now he's the designated bad guy for fucking everyone. what the hell did he do?
7. how hard did everyone laugh when slaanesh found out why the other 3 chaos gods only took one shot at avernus?
8. how much peer pressure are the original 4 chaos gods putting on the abomination to take his turn putting it in that meat grinder?
9. asking for a friend, hypothetically is there anyone he could report them to for hazing?
10. can ridcaully see why kids love cinnamon toast crunch?
1. not really
2. not many
3. no,
4. I don't remember
5. a lot
7. hard enough to shake the warp
8. unknown, probebly a lot
9. yes, though given chaos he also could for normal relations
10. yes
1. Is Ridcully capable of corrupting the entire Imperial Trust if he fell?
1a. If not, how about the entire leadership of Avernus, minus Lin, who is killed?
2. Ridcully vs Rotbart, generalship. Does Ridcully's Divinatorum capabilities beat Rotbart's??
2a. Does the contest change if it's Corrupted Ridcully vs Corrupted Rotbart?
3. How would a contest between Aria and Ridcully go? Does Aria's Null Zone trump Ridcully's Divination?
4. Who's the most delicious psyker in the Telepathica, to a Siren???
5. Semi-Serious, is it possible for Aria to gain a trait or title called 'The Witch of Nothing' at some point in the future?
6. Ahem. Does Ajax have relations with, say, Odysseus?
7. What's your headcanon for all the dead Ajaxes (Ajaxi?) in the canon omakes?
1. unknown
2. they are around equal and you both get headaches
3. if Aria can get Null zone up she wins, if Ridcully can get a hit in on he first he wins. so whoever wins the initiative roll.
4. Ridcully
5. yes it is
6. friendship only
7. that it is a common name on Cadia so there are a lot of Ajaxes (my yr 8 class had 3 Danials and 2 Toms in a class of 20)
2. If we know about his perpetuality have we asked anyone about what it means (So People, Sphinxes, Muspelheim Areatha, Inquisition, Lin ect.)
2. yes and no clear answers except that it happens very, very rarely. usually for a reason but sometimes at random
1. Was Ridcully able to estimate a time for the Destroyer's appearance?
1. At least fifty years, no more then two hundred years
1. In regards to people from daemon worlds, it's possible in 40k canon for human populations to live on them without falling to Chaos, so what are the chances that we'll find humans who live on Valinor but have not fallen to Chaos?
2. Gellar field generators can canonically be repurposed to provide protection against daemonic forces when deployed on daemon worlds. Is it possible to create design gellar field generators specialised in performing this function?
3.
Which one of 1 or 2 is correct? Or do you interpret what was quoted in a different way?
4. Is studying Avernus geology for useful materials a Biologis action?
5. Who is better for psychically impregnating promethium, Xavier or Ophelia?
6. Ungents of Warding are a Common item, meaning they're not that expensive to produce at all, though the effect is minor (+5 on a d100 to resist psychic powers and daemon-derived fear.) Given their cheapness, could we make enough of it in advance to apply to all our troops when they're expected to fight daemons?
7. Can we make the obsidian that Obsidian Plate is made out of?
8. What's a ghost world?
9. Can the psyocculum detect latent psykers?
10. The "colour" of daemonology used to be gold. What colour is it now?
first dont take anything from the RPGs as absolute fact for Embers
1. near zero
2. no
3. either. the second is impossible now
4. yes
5. Ophelia
6. dont work anymore
7. no
8. a world with a dead civilization as its only inhabitants
9. no
10. varied
1. Psyflame says it's made in a similar way to Incinerator fuel, and the only info on that says it's psychically impregnated and nothing more. In the book, Sanctified's crunch effects is negating the defence bonus a Daemonic creature gets against damage, same as force weapons and psychic powers do. In your interpretation, even without the Emperor around, do things still count as Sanctified when psychically impregnated for the purposes of anti-daemon effects?
2. Is designing new weapons something we can do? It's not tech-heresy as I understand it and even Selvanus Binary - a Forge World noted to have sticks jammed way too far up their butts even by Mechanicus standards - got in on it.
3. Is making psychoreactive nerve agent in the Mechancius' domain or Telepathica's?
4. Praesidium Protectivas are shields that contain fragments of the Emperor's armour in them. They're Very Rare in the RPG and it's noted to belong to the Adepta Sororitas, not specifically the Sisters of Battle.
4.1. Did any of the Sororitas who came to Avernus get any of these shields to protect themselves with?
4.2. Did any of the Sororitas elsewhere in the Asgard sub-sector have them for whatever reason?
4.3. Did any of the heretic Sisters of Battle carry them? If so, did Saint Lin purify them since they have some of the Emperor's stuff in them?
5. Are hexagrammatic wards made with null circuitry in Embers as they are in Dark Heresy?
6. Can haywire weapons make "dead zones" in Embers?
7. 1d4chan says that graviton weapons and grav weapons are two different things, with the latter being a derivation of the former and having different effects. (They cite a canon source for this.) Is that how you interpret it in your quest? If so, do we have the ability to make OG graviton weapons?
1. No
2. It happens st a lower Lyon focus
3. Both
4. You do not have any
5. No
6. No
7. They are different and you can only make grav
3. Any chance some of them (Valinor's Abomites) have renounced the abomination, due to either seeing its power crushed and potentially being abandoned by it.
the issue is that with shipyards the size of Vanaheim it is basically impossible to stop them from being a vulnerability. the best you can do is protect them with massive of defences and minefields which is what they have done. Avernus protected their by moving them away from Avernus, which is the main target for attacks but Vanaheim could not do the same as the shipyards are likely to be the main target
1. While much of the faith-based improvements (blessed oils and stuff) in the RPGs are Imperial Creed stuff, some of them are Omnissiah blessings. Imperial Creed blessings don't work anymore with the death of the Emperor, but what about Omnissiah blessings? Do they still work?
1. Is doing non-Trust polity omakes something that would be worthwhile or have you decided to leave that stuff behind?
2. If polity omakes are still worthwhile, how many points is a daemon world?
1. it would be worthwhile
2. +10 for chaos, -10 for everyone else
can you give examples like these except for Favoured Enemy?
1. first, experience mostly gained fighting a particular foe
second, a deep seated hatred of a particular foe and a concentrated effort to train and build forces to better fight them
third, a military tailored to fight a particular foe, either out of sheer hatred or the fact that it is the only enemy you fight
fourth, a civilization built around opposing a particular foe, where every action is viewed though the lens of how it hurts the Great Enemy.
not going to get to involved with this but I can confirm that you are not the only holdouts that the Emperor created, when he Sainted Lin he told him that he was one of multiple people getting this message
1. A curiosity question: You said that Helheim's specialities in technology were genetics (for obvious reasons) Vortex (again obvious reasons) and gravetics...the first two make plenty of sense, but gravetics seems like the odd one out?
2. Does Valinor contain any stellar phemonina? Black Holes, Pulsars, Neutron Stars ect?
1. the dimensional vale
2. a pair of neutron stars
2. Are the stealth ships still widening our explored area of space?
3a. Are Avernus plages more virus or bacteria?
3b. Asking what Nurgels presents are mor is pointless because of warp sheniganis?
3a. both
3b. both types plus pure warp plus several types that do not exist, and in some cases are physically impossible
2. How expensive would it be to upgrade...Svartalfheim's defences to level 10?
2. stupidly, it would cost orders of magnitude more then level 8, even Svartalfheim's ong term plans dont call for more then half a dozen cities of that level
1. How hard would it be to take?
1. very, +582 defence bonus, reduce casulites by 94%, and enough void shield take suvive the plant blowing up under it
Honestly I feel that with all three polities goodies incorporated, plus Rosklide, plus having the colonies online, the dragons uplifted and the valinor worlds colonized we could probably fend off a Black Crusade type force as long as it's leader isn't ridiculous.

Hell if we do all this AND incorporated the Nest we'd be pretty set in our position. It won't be worth the cost to take us while the Orks are Waaaghing about. And let's be honest for a second pumped up Waaghs are everyone's biggest concern. Even Chaos.
you are underestimating Black Crusades, by a lot
and the idea of one without a ridiculously scary leader is crazy
3. Can we tell when daemons are tracking a ship through the warp?
4. Can we currently hide a ship in the warp from daemonic tracking?
5. Do wards help?
6. Does filling them with Nilfar help?
3. no
4. no
5. no
6. no
insightful, I will mention that in general non corrupted polities find it easier to maintain high population worlds if they can protect themselves, due to less incidental infighting and death. the Abomination is the exception to this making its polities some of the scariest
1. I've read people saying that the negative value of on-world Ork infestations was doubled following the green awakening, is this accurate?
2. Was the negative value of an Ork inhabited planet in the same system also doubled?
Why didn't we get some Khornate or Nurglite domains near us? (>.<)
because Tzeencth is the dominate god in this region
5. If we send Astartes will we receive any gene seed from the fallen or should we just remove the other gene seed before sending them on their way?
5. you will recive some gene-seed, depending on the battles
6. If we randomly do a divination that greatly interests the Eldar is it possible to get some Credits from it?
3. Did Eldrad mention whether or not the Eldar had any plans to deal with Vect preemptively, or have they concluded there's little they can do in this case?
3. they have concluded that there is nothing that they can do about it without either making matters worse or pulling to many forces away from other events. They have decided that the Orks getting out of control is worse then chaos getting Eldar tech
yeah, no matter what the Imeprium sometimes thinks the Dark Age of Technology was not a period in which humans were the superpower, that position was held by the Eldar Empire as it had been for a long time
1: Are the Legion of the Damned still an active presence in the current timeline?
So , if we got incredibly unlucky and got hit with the remaining three Chaos Incursions via Gods we don't already have a Skies for (Abomination doesn't count, that was a crusade) in consecutive 5-year Turns and didn't die, would that affect the Traits received versus 'happened over 300 years' at all?
yes the traits would be lot better, also your population would be down to something like one billion, rather then 20
given how long the quest is going to be, we may well get hit by the other 3 gods. if so will our populace have 5 traits, or will they merge into one big trait?
if you get ll , which is possible, then they will merge
1. While you are here, did we mention that we had discovered Vulkan and co had extremely hidden allies to them?
2. If so what was their reaction/did they tell us who they were. My theory is the Eldar.
3. How were we received on Callamus?
4. What kind of stuff does Scott's second report that they have access to from his 6? years there?
1. yes
2. it was the Eldar
3. who are you?, you have WHAT STCs? YOU ARE WILLING TO SHARE THEM? REALLY?
4. better versions of some Imperial tech, nothing groundbreaking
1. A comparison I suppose? If the three big polities were to be transplanted back to the 41st mellennia how well would they do when the Imperium tries to kill them in a paranoid haze?
1. in 40k thy are all to powerful for the Imperial to divert the resources to deal with. in 39k Secodnus would be overwhelmed by numbers(eventually) , the Forge-Empire would probebly be able to hold and Quartus would conquer the Imperium due to the fact that it has Primarhces and the Imperium has no way to counter 4 P.
1. A bit more of a weirder scenario, but the Empire of Ashes, big three, Trust and Tau transported back to 30K just before emps starts the great crusade...I forsee that going...interesting? Like the Primarchs racing to retrieve their siblings early interesting.
1. lets just say it would be very stange, especcialy interactions with the Emperor who was pretty xenophobis at the time and would find a few far older versions of his sons getting on with Eldar.
the only group that manged a peaceful conquest of the galaxy was the old ones, and they did it by conquering the galaxy before any other intelligent life evolved. actual Terra Nullus not the legal fiction used to justify genocides
1. How big are the Chapters in Imperium Secundus?
2. Would the Guard/PDF of Secundus have equipment comparable to any of the units in the Imperial Trust?
3. Would the tech being traded assuming somewhat equal offers raise the Tech level of participants?
3a. If yes by how much a level or two and then grow over time.
Edit: For 3a I'm talking about the three galactic human powers not so much ourselves.
1. it varies significantly but 90% between 1 and 2 k, the remaining 10% are mostly guardians of particularly dangerous sectors, such as those near the Tau border
2. the guard would have what most trust would give to their PDF,
3. when implemented yes to everyone but you and for you it would mostly evolve you from 18(military focus) to 18(military +) and eventually to 19 (military focus)
3a. you are not sure but mostly 2 (so getting the average up to 17)
3. Out of curiosity what level of combat bonus would a helguard need to match an average astartes in raw killyness?
3. 1000? havent calculated
1. Did emps say what happened to the Assassin Temples/do we have any guesses?
1. he did not say. You suspect a mix of dead, scattered and debased and ??
1. Out of curiosity what mechanically did the three other things do/would do if used.
1i. The Banefire bomb?
1ii. The Anti corruption potion.
1iii. The immunobooster?
1i. powerful attack that would give you a chance to escae and cause some damage, never came up with the exact mechancis as it was never used
1ii. +10 vs plauge
1iii. +10 vs plague
1. Out of curiosity what kinda damage would a nat 100 on that done assuming it was aimed at something important like the Exalted?
1. a nat 100 would have either killed or permakilled an Exalted
3. How long can the immune boosters be stored? As they work against warp based diseases even stasis is not garanteed to work.
3. a few years, a decade or two with stasis
1. How common is it for a planetary population to have more than one pop trait?
1. rare but not incredibly so
1. Have we either informed the Eldar about the Lion being missing and if so did they know?
1. you have and they can't find him. Which is worrying.
1 Does Lin have an opinion about how we should treat the sane Primarchs?
2 The rest of our advisors?
1. great respect and as allies but not necessarily obedience. The Emperor always wanted humans to be able to stand by themselves
2. more on the do what they tell you to end
, in Warhammer Total War there's a character trait called Fears Humans. The flavour text is "There is a reason the Dark Gods are hell-bent on the destruction of man…"

1. In Embers, what would it take for an ork to get that trait?
2. What about a daemon?
1.Orks can feel fear?
2. A few near true death experiences
how amused were the Eldar, when they realized that the Blind Seer archetype was born out of tons of gullible humans getting conned by phony psychics/seers/astrologers/etc?
It's not only humans. But pretty amused.
, this is for an omake. What's the name of a Planetary Governor's top guys? General Richards, Jane, Lin, Ridcully, etc. all count.
it depends on the planet, ministers, advisers, and similar are common
generally forge worlds have a lot of defence pacts with other chaos polities that they supply, and even without those chaos has a habit of jumping on anyone who just took a forge world to prevent them getting a major advantage and to get it yourself, so chaos poloties only take a forge world if they think that can both take it and beat off all of their rivals attacking them jsut after
4. How has Hrothgar taken the Eldar's assistance?
5. Is Surt willing to say what his other tricks for defending the city were? (well some of them.).
5. a few limited self destructs, flooding the city with fire, jettisoning the outer 90% of the city, that sort fo thing
1. Do the Eldar know what happened to the Dark Templar? They were one of the largest Imperial groups of space marines by an order of magnitude and were...more than likely to fall.
2. I can't remember if someone's asked this before, but do the Eldar have any idea what Lorgar's been doing? While I hope he's remained in isolation, he may have joined the Abomination...or he may have decided to replace Abaddon like he wanted to do to Horus.
3. Out of curiosity, but I'm trying to guess how many paragon/paragon level traits abaddon may have? 5 paragon blessings one from each God, a paragon of combat, paragon of the blade, paragon of the claw? paragon of diplomacy? and maybe paragon of martial?
4. What level of blessing was the Destroyer Hive?
5. With Typhus gone do we think that the Destroyer Hive will not be reissued?
1. a mix of Malel and Abomination mostly
2. so far he has mostly remeoned in isolation, and is still chaos undivided
3. definatly the Martiala nd Dipo Paragons, also multiple combat paragons
4. high paragon
5. no it wll be given time
1 are the events of gothic armada embers cannon?
2 will we see any of the weapons make a appearance here? Like statist bombs?
Idly wondering how very hard would it be for a sufficiently powerful outside entity (a really inisghtful Daemon Prince? Like, Turoq^2?) to find out about the meeting, and fuck things up to some degree.
Though of course I doubt any force in galaxy, sans Abaddon maybe, can storm this place (assuming he can get here, of course), given the sheer density of high-level heroes.
Abbadon would be slaughtered. He is terrifying and I would give him decent odds against any single Primarch or Eldrad. Against 2 prrimrches and Eldrad it would be a one sided massacre. Not to mention that in many ways the Black Libary is more secure then the Empoers Throne room ever was, and few hostile forces could even find it.
1. What is the immediate use Rotbart sees for the Warriors? I see use as additional psyker hunters as being the obvious one.
Apologies for the Warrior fixation ATM.
2. Slightly less attached to this, which Avernite critters have we handed over? Beer Grass and Nogs seem like the obvious ones, but others like the Carniflowers, Illusory pines (declared safe, but still) seem less likely and I believe we were asked to not take the Beserker fungus off world.
3. Just to check have the Eldar investigated the Assassins? Because they were one of the most powerful Imperial institutions by a very big margin. Them vanishing from all view is and conspicuously not ending up with the abomination is...at best suspicious at worst its a god damn conspiracy making em another patsy candidate.
3ii. If they and they found nothing how concerned should we be?
4. How powerful diviners are the shards of Lieath? Vaul was apparently equal to a transcendent craftsman?
5. Oh yes, did we ever get the opportunity to give Vulkan (or a shard of Vaul if any are around) a look at the Black Crystals?
5ii. If yes then did he get anything out of it.
6. If the opportunity comes up do any of the attendees, Eldrad, Primarchs etc. think we should contact the PM? It is what the crystals are for apparently, it if our guesses are sound then its been contacted before without everything exploding.
7. Has Corvus given permission for us to request assistance from non humans like Lulana in improving the Thunder Warriors if we believe that she could help improve them.
1. possibly, or as shock troops. to be honest he can see why they were repalced with Astartes
2. all of the above bar the fungus
3. they have, all they know is that those temples that were not destroyed met up with Culaxus and diaspeared from their sight
3ii. moertly
4. upper Paragon
5. you did
5ii. Just that it is beyond its skills and seems to have among other things become an Avatar of the Concept of DEATH
6. they dont know enough to give an opinion
7. he has not one way or the other
1. How quickly would the other polities want us to get the fish for Navigators and do the Black Ships?
2. Have the other polities given their notes from their attempts at reverse engineering said ships?
3. If yes are they helpful in making it easier on them?
4. Does Scott/Tranth/Rotbart/Ridcully think redesigning the max security vault to take advantage of the new designs we got be worth while or not?
1. Black Ships are preiority, fish secondary
2. yes they have
3. a bit, you are using a totally differnt system however so only a bit
4. no, cant think of any of the techs that are particularly essential for it
5. Do the big three have means of cleansing chaos corruption? Callamus for example probably needs to if it wants to use Ophelian worlds?
5. yes, though not any ways that resembe quick or cheap
1. Is Blackheart still active or have the Krork/Quartius/Secundus managed to nab him?
2. How did the Maelstrom get active? I'm just curious as its the second (third?) largest warp storm in the galaxy and predates the Eye of Terror and eye of Terra, so its origins seem...important, since the other two were formed from the creations of Gods.
3. Do the Eldar seem like they're interested in "hiring" the services of "free" transcendents for lack of better terminology? Areatha and if he is one Vlad for instance? It seems like they need all the allies they can get. Of course getting them to agree is another matter, but if its to kick chaos.
4. Have the Eldar ever investigated humanities origins? I ask because there's so much crazy stuff in humanities genepool, we're excessively potent psykers compared to pretty much any species even by Eldar standards, we're the only species that can produce blanks naturally even the Eldar can't do that, we managed to make emps pretty much accidentally, the whole adaptability thing, and then there's the stuff we don't know about like Perpetuality (something whether natural or artificial seems to be human only)?
1. still alive and leading one of the more powerful second tier chaos groups
2. its the site of the last stand of the Beast against the Eldar Empire
3. yes
4. not that they have mentoned
2) Are there more instances of chaos polities working together thanks to the Orks awakening putting pressure on certain polities?
-2a) Are the rest of the human polities a lot more willing to work with the Eldar in the current age when it comes to preventing things like level 4 Waaaghs?
2. yes there are
2a. they are, desperation makes most allies more palitable
yes, 1 minor favour per 2 levels cleansed
1) what method do they use to cleanse the Chaos worlds?
2) are they willing to teach us that method?
3) how much would it cost?
1. they use the power of Ynead to kill it
2. if you are willing to worship ynead, which is required
3. free
did the imperum still only have a million-ish marines?
in Embers it had more then a million and less then 10 million, the records were bad enough that no one knew more then that
4. is the Raptor Imperialis corrupted?
4. no, it was pretty much forgotten by the time that the Abomination started forming
5. According to the Eldar is the Changling permadead?
1. In his opinion, which would he prefer for killing enemy titans, a titan legion with a small supporting anti-titan force of lesser units, or several large formations of anti-titan super-heavies and lesser forces?
1a. Which would be more cost effective does he think, and by how much?
2. In his opinion, for general combat, which would he prefer, a titan legion with small numbers of anti-titan formations, or no titans but large numbers of anti-titan formations?
4. Just how capable are Descent destroyers at killing enemy titans, and how dangerous is doing so to them? Provided that we have local void superiority, aren't losing air control and the enemy doesn't have a lot of anti-orbital defences.
4a. How would Descent destroyers do at killing titans if the titans were defending say, a hive we were attacking?
1. Titans with support
1a. Superheavies over a single engagement, Titans if it's a campaign
2. Titans with support
4. Pretty but it is dangerous.
4a. Terrible, anti orbital defences are a descents greatest weakness
1 Does the Imperial Trust get minor attacks at all? Things like a handful of Ork Roks or a couple of pirate ships blundering into a colony system?
2 If we do get occasional raids are they sometimes allowed to make planet fall so the ground troops can get some experience?
1. yes it does, so far they have all been beaten off without major losses
2. yes, though less allowed and more make it
1. Is the Trust aware of the Vestri League's existence? I know it's in our Segmentum, but that ultimately means little considering how big it is.
1. They know that there is a polity of that name that includes squats. Nothing more including weather it is chaos or not.
1. Is Ridcully's Divination precise enough to give a straight Yes/No answer to whether someone will succeed or fail testing for a Knight-Titan? (ex: Sigmund/Syr's hypothetical child)
2. Is failing a Knight-Titan test as.. lethal as it seems to be in canon?
1.yes but not at 100%, only 99.5%
2. yes. Less common though
you all seem to be overlooking something. Who says that the Deceiver has to have only one set of catspaws?
is reading the brains of the deceased something that's possible to do in Embers?
in certain circumstances, especially when a Space Marine in on hand to eat said brain
What tech level was prefall mars? I remember 17 but surely the esoteric warp tech and various other one pop wonders they come up with that make us look like children indicate to me that it is higher?
17 on average, though they had tech going into the low to mid 20s
1. Since babies get souls only a little bit before they're born, does that mean that those born 2 months premature are soulless since it's 2 months since before they were supposed to get a soul?
2. If they do get souls, are they more vulnerable to daemonic possession than those who were born on schedule?
1. they get a soul when born no matter what
2. no tests have been done, but likely so
4. Is it possible in Embers for Chaos creatures to evolve into stable, non-Chaos species?
4. yes but very, very unlikely
@Durin, I just remembered that penal legion explosive collars are a thing, which should be much easier to produce and distribute than internal explosive implants. But what do you mean by "usually does not work"? This wouldn't be penal legion "obey or die", more like cyanide capsules for a spy to avoid torture by the enemy.
If controlled by the wearer it is an expensive form of sucked pill. If remote controlled then 1 person being mind controlled can blow up entire units
And penel legions are cannon fodder 99% of the time

Realized something about investigating the primordial sea: The second worst outcome was likely he gets corrupted, we fail to notice the Saint has fallen, and he drips feeds us straight into our own fall with the trust we have in him. Or to put it another way...I would suspect that there would be a range of rolls where @Durin would instead of showing us the roll for Lin successfully learning about it, he instead gives us the rolls of Lin hiding said fall, which would be successes.

Lin hiding said fall, which would be successes.
With a bit of 'luck' some of the Avernus powerhouses including the weapons and Avernus itself would note and treat that with extreme prejudice. either that or even the 'gods' looking at the future and going all-in on a invasion to avoid being devoured by what is in the sea (I think).

After all Lin is not a exalted of intrigue^^.

I wonder which hurt the abom more, having 2 exaulted killed (one of them even got true-killed) along with a entire army.

or having failed to kill the last saint (cas I think its too late for him to make a second attempt, cas after this turn hes going in the webway) that apparently hurts his narrative or something so it'd be like if khorn decided to NOT attack a base.

would khols replacement of died before they were even brought up.
Given helms deep is the capital of the spine outside of dis

And this does not include people like the Xavier twins

By the way, should we let Lin complete his two research projects for the next 3 years before starting the preaching, or should we dump the research?

By the way, should we let Lin complete his two research projects for the next 3 years before starting the preaching, or should we dump the research?
I'm inclined towards no, though that's at least in part because I consider the R&D we're currently doing to be a lot more important than some stuff we've done earlier. More relevantly, we don't really have any idea as to the quality of replacement piety advisor we'll get once Saint Lin dies. Well, besides the fact that having them meditate on the Nature of Chaos is extremely unlikely to end well.

I'm guessing the successor can run Witch Hunter expansions and church infrastructure stuff, as well as do a lesser version of Those in the Shadows, Oversee Missionaries, and Keeping the Faith (also post-incursion preaching). Not sure if he can do anything else.

Curses really needs to be completed at the least for the Final Act. The Nature of Sanguinius also has a lot of worth due to the BD integration and the Crimson Crusaders.

Finishing curses and the like would be nice, but preventing a cultist spiral is more important in my mind. Obviously we shouldn't be making decisions until we have information about the scale of the problem but one action for preaching will hopefully be enough—the second action has diminishing returns anyway.

If so, we'll need to decide if we want to pause curses (only one year done so less progress lost, but generally more important to our goals) or the nature of the Sanguinar (two years of progress to lose, but less important).

Ultimately we should probably chart out exactly what we're doing with Lin's remaining years before making the choice. If we will be able to do both saving a year of actions that can be used to reinforce the peace treaty would be well worth the minor cost of finishing less important research first, but if it's one or the other curses are pretty crucial for Lin's final act, helping the Blood Dragons, and general curse removal (such as if we end up with a hero getting cursed like the Varangian Guard Chapter Master was).

I'm still really relieved over how lightly we seem to have gotten off in this Incursion. Losing two cities and a massive number of elites hurts quite a bit, but as far as preserving Lin goes it would be cheap at twice the cost. I also view it as being extremely unlikely that we'll be receiving any flack from the rest of the Trust over the forces on loan to us that we lost. Hell, we might even get a rep boost in the Trust over it.

I can see the Eldar and Avernus-native contribution to keeping Lin alive also help with latent xenophobia issues in the Trust. Sure, we paid through the nose for the Eldar but they sent what they could and were basically wiped out to a man in his defense and the natives needed no reason beyond 'fuck chaos'.

Lin will finish what he is working on then leave to go to Vulkan. We will need to deal with the cults on our own and since he will be gone from now on it is best we get in the practice.

I see two big issues with this. First, given that we were the primary focus of this incursion and the Abomination's inclination towards mind control, the cult issues could well be far worse than 'normal' for the aftermath of an Incursion. Second is that Lin is unbelievably skilled at handling this sort of issue and making improvements to how it is handled. By keeping him out of the containment and cleanup efforts we will likely be handicapping how much we improve at doing so.

We will be killing alot of our people anyways and sacrificing them so that Lin can go deal with the healing of Guilliman is worth it. This is going to hurt us no matter what and this is the time we need to chose what is more important.

I think we should save the preaching for Y1 and Y2 of T136. It's not a lot, since Lin is leaving Y3, but if we stop any of the research, we will not be able to start anything of that nature again, literally forever.

Honestly with Lin's research to detect cults and his aura being around for at least another few years it's likely not going to be that bad. Besides that we really can't afford to pull him from his research since he is literally going to die soon and we are taking a risk as is.

Also only a few of our hives and cities were actually under assault by daemons while the rest were pretty much left alone so it's not that bad compared to normal.

From Codex Genestealer Cults, page 48
The atrophic blades that many Sanctuses wield are gifts from their gene-sire. These are grown within bubbling genesis pools that contain the liquefied psychic essence of slain cultists – the accumulated legacy of the Patriarch's curse. Each is formed from alien biomatter and imbued with the psychoactive liquids contained within the genesis pools. Non-indoctrinated beings struck with such a weapon are overcome with agony as the echo of a million formless voices explodes inside their minds. Unable to contain such immense energies, many victims simply drop dead on the spot, their brain turned to boiling slurry.

Other Sanctuses prefer to kill at a distance. For this task, they utilise a marksman rifle converted to fire needler rounds. Each toxin dart carried by the Sanctus is filled with an alchemical serum brewed by their gene-sect's Biophagus. Engineered from a pure sample of Genestealer blood, this mind-affecting poison can render its target a drooling imbecile in seconds. Should that target's mind be connected to the psychic energies of the warp, the serum induces a neural overload as it seeps into the victim's cerebellum, visiting the horror of the Hive Mind upon them.
[...]
When the Patriarch desires a target slain, it will suffuse its Sanctuses with a trace of the victim's psychic spoor, a telepathic scent that these assassins follow like bloodhounds across spire-towers and through winding sub-levels.
