No need. All we would need to do would be to drop a bucketload of blink spiders on the planet. Everything will be dead in a week.
1. we do not need to turn every world into a death world.
2. Do you realize how dangerous transporting enough spiders would be
3. That is impossible by the nature of simple ecology.

Also, while blink spiders kill people, they're not a kill everything weapon--they're more "kill a random 2% of the population each year in a way that's really fucking hard to stop".

For avernites.

Most people are not Avernites.

Still the point stands, besides it would be more effective to use the life eater fungus.

So as far as we know Mirkwood has fallen to a Beta Pysker mind controlling everyone there along with a Gamma pryomancer making it quite troublesome to take over. Should we do a round of orbital bombardment on its defenses and the tunnels to isolate and leave it open to Avernus before going in to clear it?

So how long do you think it will take us to rebuild Avernus, including recolonizing the fallen cities, rebuilding the Army and getting the population growing again?

The psykers are almost definatly dead, if the Phase tigers didn't kill em before leaving the wild life would have done it for us.

Current Mechanicus Unrest 3/10
10/10 guarantees civil war

Avernus - 15% support, 1-5% oppostion
1. If I read this right the 'Current' is how strong it is and should it go over 9/10 there is a really good chance that there will be open fighting between Mechanicus.
2. The '10/10 guarantees civil war' means how big it will go up in flames (how many Mechanicus will take part in the confrontation and by that how big the fighting will be)? I can't really place it. Can you please expand on what it means?
3. The Avernus section implies that we would need to look into the other planets as well (at least those with large numbers of Mechanicus). Is that correct?

Yep we took an action this turn to try and find the condition of the rest of the Nine Worlds.

Also the current is 1, due to Omakes and Britton being dead.

Anyone know what critical success is when it comes to living? Does it mean gain a trait?

Does this mean that the Governor's Own will get their own collective bonus?

I'm hoping that the entire planet gets a minor buff. Something like "Hardened in Hellfire". they weathered an entire daemonic invasion. granted, they lost a lot in the process, but they _held_. and by simply surviving where others fell, they proved themselves hard enough that even daemons couldn't crack them.

By the way @durin my Dishonored-Whale expy keeps the name Leviathan?

I mean I was unsure about the name, because I suspected that you have a name as classical as Leviathan assigned...
no
@durin: 1. What was the strongest demon who survived the attack? A greater demon? 2. Was it the only demon in its power class in the attack?

Working on an omake and I am really wanting it to be canon. :D

fasquardon
1. Yes a greater deamon (one of the more powerful ones)
2. yes

Are Exalted Daemons a thing? Greater Greater Daemons in essence, but only the gods sacred number of them exist at any one time.

Oh, and could this be Slaanesh getting pissed about Fjol IV, as it lost some of its favorite toys there?

Finally, Malal a thing here?
PLEASE NUMBER
1.Yes, none were involved in the attack however
2. It could be
3. yes, he is one of the most powerfully minor Chaos gods

@durin how many full fledged cadians do we have left in service? Have any retired to another profesion?
a bit over 10,000, a few thousand have retired

Is a keeper of secrets considered a greater demon?

Anyway,

@durin

What's the casualty rate for Neo-Astropaths?

How many trained psykers went chaotic?
1. TBD but between a quarter and three quarters
2. a decent number, tens of thousands

@durin confirmed that if Blink Spiders got spread to other worlds it'd have resulted in complete ecological collapses. They wouldn't be mere negative population growth modifiers.
but it would take decades to centuries and would no necessarily kill everyone, just collapse any ecosystems that rely on creatures that Blink Spiders can kill

1. Current is current level of unrest, a mechanicus civil war will starts by the tie it reached 10/10.
2. No it means that no matter what if it reaches 10/10 the consertavites will start a civil war
3. yes

@durin how does the Mechanicus succession work?
appointed successor

@durin - had a thought, about the ongoing nature of our people.

In general going forward, those with low wills will have been purged from the gene pool, and that's probably helpful. More than that, though, it's now the case that every living person on Avernus (with the possible exception of those hiding out with the Sirens) has had the experience of holding strong against significant, direct demonic temptation. That seems like the sort of thing that might have been a significant psychological experience, and possibly worth a trait in and of itself. The psykers had it even worse, and might reasonably get a somewhat more potent effect.

For the mechanics of the probability of Mechanicus civil war, I've got the idea it works out as something like this:

0-4 unrest along the lines of some people are unhappy, some are pissed, but the real chance of a civil war is similar to that of one in the United States today. Maybe 1% chance per year on the high end of unrest.

5-7 along the lines of some real divisions and anger, and some lines in the sand, but it would require a real provocation to actually start. Effectively like USA and USSR in the Cold War, with less of a hair trigger. Along the lines of 2-5% chance of civil war starting per year.

8-9 is like Europe prior to WW1. Lines have been drawn, tensions are high, and people are (to some extent) looking for a reason. Something in the order of 15-30% chance of civil war starting per year

10 is Franz Ferdinand has been assassinated by Serbian nationalists.

1) Is this view accurate in its broad strokes?

2) For future planning: On the event roll table, is it set up similarly for the other chaos gods? Cause a 1/1000 chance of this sort of event is very different from a 1/200 chance (5 major chaos gods)--for the later, there's about a 50% chance of another Incursion happening at some point in the next 200 years

Huh. And it would sync VERY well with the Gray Knights we have too. They're really anti-Daemon as well. This could get very interesting.
