The Isha Heist Part Five: Aftermath
The events of the last few months have changed the galaxy in many ways, some of which are immediately apparent and others that will take some time to be known. While the Imperial Trust was not involved barring High Grandmaster Ridcully, that does not insulate you from the consequences of the recent events.
The Eldar are the group most changed by recent events, both in the short term and in the long term. Losing a tenth of their total population assaulting the Storm of Despair is the single worst blow that the Ynnari have suffered since their formation, and will significantly impact their ability to act in the short term. The rescue of Isha is possibly the only that that could have kept the Eldar population large enough for them to remain a galactic power in the long term, and the fact that Isha should be able to resurrect several of their shattered gods and countless dead heroes will give the Eldar a major boost in the mid term. Speaking of Isha from your conversations with her and the Laughing God she has changed greatly due to her imprisonment, and has gained two new aspects from it to go with her original aspect of the Mother. The Widow represents the grief she felt and the will she developed holding out against Nurgle and is about remaining true to oneself in hard times, while the Crone represents her hatred for Nurgle, and her willingness to twist life into a weapon to hurt it. In private conversations Isha is willing to admit that the Crone is worryingly close to what Nurgle wanted her to become, and may be a lingering remnant of his attention.
The Aetheric Concordat has been nearly wiped out,m but its three remaining gods have each claimed significant unrestricted domains suited for opposing the Tyrant. This allows them to continue to act independently, though their greater levels of trustworthiness will lead to them acting more closely with other sane powers in the years to come.
While the ritual was not nearly as successful as it could have been it has still significantly effected the galaxy as a whole. The weakening of the veil will increase the power of psykers across the board, and will make summoning daemons and divine servitors far easier. While this will help Chaos more then any other fact there are several other groups that will benefit, of which the Eldar and the Avernus are some of the most obvious. You are not yet sure exactly what impact it will have on pskers power, but are currently estimating power boosts ranging from around fifty percent for the weaker psykers to over 700% for Alpha Psykers. This will disproportionately effect those polities that field the more powerful psykers, again Chaos, Eldar and Avernus. The ability to more easily summon daemons and to better keep them in the Materium will be the biggest impact for the forces of Chaos, and seeing large daemonic forces deployed by Chaos polities of all sizes will become common. Few other groups make major use of divine servitors, though that may change as more Eldar Gods are brought back to life.
The ritual will significantly boost the Black Imperium, as the largest and most powerful Chaotic Domain, though the loss of Cadia will effect both Abbadons prestige and administration for a period. While you expect him to regain full control over the Black Imperium within a century at the longest, you have brought a period of grace for most of his foes. Unfortunately one of the actions that he may take to try and regain his prestige faster is to hunt down and kill the groups responsible for Cadia, most of whom live on Avernus. You are glad that the Empire of Ashes owes you a lot of major favours, and you expect that you will need them.
The Tyrant suffered greatly in the ritual, with the efforts of the Coalition to oppose him being inscribed into the Warp itself, preventing him from gaining any particular befits as well as empowering three gods with dominions which oppose his. While you are not yet sure what other effects that the Coalition's Last Stand will have you are sure that there will be some, and that they will hurt the Tyrant. This lose for the Tryant is not an entrly good thing, as it has resulted in a major weakening of his forces in the Eye of Terra, which will allow the Void Dragon to break earlier then expected. You give it a decade, fifteen years at the longest.
The Dark Prince suffered less losses then many of the other gods, though the forces of the Silent King ensured that he gained little unique benefits either. While his sacrifice may give him a minor connection to the Eldar, the additional protection that they gain from Isha's return more then over sets this. More then any other Chaos God the Dark Prince's position remains unchanged.
The Lord of Decay came out the worst from recent events, between his ritual being sabotaged by the Ynnari and Illiferae sacrificing herself to if anything reverse his intended goal of corrupting the stars. To make matters worse the rescue of Isha has freed the god best suited and most skilled at countering him, as well as created a new god with domains that directly prey on his. While the Lord of Decay has suffered he remains strong, and has been totally enraged by the rescue so you expect him to act almost obsessively to hurt that that were involved in the rescue. Including Avernus.
The Blood God was one of the most successful gods in recent events, and was able to sacrifice Zaeed to further stoke the flames of war. As a result of this action war will always be a more readily chosen course in this galaxy, and those who attempt to make peace will face more challenges. Thankfully the Krork managed to weaken his section of the ritual enough to prevent this effect from being any stronger, as if it was then maintaining or expanding groups like the Grand Conclave would be a major challenge.
The Architect of Fate was the winner of the Great Gods of Chaos, managing to use an attack from his rival to help fend off the Ork Gods and prevent them from doing to much damage to his efforts. His sacrifice of Valanar has helped him bind fate to his plots, so that fate itself will bend to follow his whims. This makes him by far the most dangerous of the Great Gods of Chaos, as chance will work in his favour with worrying consistency.
On a more personal level you have changed as a result of the rescue of Isha, taking two strides down the path of Ascension as well as pushing several skills to a new level. Areatha has also stepped onto the Path of Ascension with the Archtype of the Magical Girl, an Archtype that you expect her to develop rapidly.
High Grandmaster Ridcully upgrades Developed Archetype of the Blind Seer (36 Power, -11 Control, -1A, -7D, *39 power multiplier, +3 to trait chance) into Greatly Developed Archetype of the Blind Seer (38 Power, -11 Control, -1A, -7D, *87 power multiplier, +5 to trait chance, increases bonus granted to others by +10, constantly sees major turning points, can re-roll an additional roll every turn)- High Grandmaster Ridcully has been a witness to multiple divine events in his time, a fact which has changed his relationship with the Warp and given him the Archetype of the Blind Seer. The Warp now moves with him, transforming him from a strong Delta-level Psyker into a powerful Alpha-level Psyker as well as giving him insight into key events happening all over the galaxy, and into how to best aid others. On the downside he is more likely to be cryptic, less likely to explain himself, if such a thing is possible, and more likely to be drawn to events of great significance. Over the years he has stepped further on this path no less then five times, gaining ever more influence in the Warp and getting ever closer to Ascension.
High Grandmaster Ridcully upgrades Blessing of Isha (+3P, immunity to non divine disease and poison, +200 to resist disease and poison, +50 vs Nurgle, +50 to all healing rolls, +20 D and +100 to diplomacy rolls when dealing with Eldar, Honored reputation with Eldar) into Saviour of Isha (+5P, immunity to non divine disease and poison, +500 to resist disease and poison, +100 vs Nurgle, +80 to all healing rolls, +30 D and +200 to diplomacy rolls when dealing with Eldar, Mythological reputation with Eldar, Friendship of Isha, Friendship of the ELdar Gods, Godfather to the Child of Hate)- After the rescue of Isha High Grandmaster Ridcully has being accepted as a personal friend and savoir to Isha, and to the Eldar Pantheon as a whole. This has significantly boosted the blessing that Isha had already provided him giving him the talent of a Grandmaster Healer, and near total immunity to disease. Isha and the Child of Hate have also shown him many of the best ways to counter the force of the Lord of Decay in all of its forms.
High Grandmaster Ridcully Gains trait Adviser of Heroes (+2 Control, +25 to fateweaving rolls, increases bonus granted to others by +10)- As the Blind Seer High Grandmaster Ridcully is best when he is assisting heroes in their work rather then acting in his own right. This assistance can range from the slightest of nudges to the most obvious enchantments.
