Old One BullshitTM:p
Unfortunately no then we would know it was relatively harmless, but they were brought to Averus by an explorer during the DAT and given to the "president" as a gift so it is possible that it is old one, but at this point it could anything
The reason he can't reverse engineer it is because it does not have a large enough psychic imprint of it construction
Wait is the imprint to small or has it decayed overtime, cause for a ship this big a lot of people would have had to work on it so surly that would have left a mark.
Also I just remembers, but aren't humans evolved parts of the Old Ones waste disposal/recycling system?

The imprint for the ship is big enough to be detected it is the smaller vehicles within the ship that do not have enough of a imprint remaining to use

Nope. Humans have nothing to do with the Old Ones. The War in Heaven happened 65 million years ago long before humanity evolved.
O nononono sorry I didn't mean the vehicles, I was asking for like the armor or the weapons systems of the Well it self, not the vehicles unless they have seen a lot of combat of course they don't have a big warp presence sorry for the misunderstanding.

yes that is what the Cheating option helps you with

Interesting interlude.

If it can harm pure warp essence then it can bring the "true death" to a demon as in permanently kill it not just banish it.

We were already told during the research of it that it was also an entity in the Warp and that it could kill souls.

They weren't brought TO Avernus by an explorer, they were found ON Avernus by an Explorer. Big difference. Given the items were found on what we suspect is an Old One's bioweapons lab, it's very likely they share the same origins.

O sorry misremembered thank you for correcting me, though my point still stands what are these things made of. I know the Old Ones tech is beyond even the Necrons and Eldar, but seriously, the only things I can think of that perma kill a demon in this universe are weapons designed too kill one specific demon, chanting its true name at it then killing it or being a strong pure psyker with a lot of luck, or any combination of the above, and none of those are guarantees.
Also why would the Old Ones leave everything on Avernus, cause they all seem really dangerous to necrons already so why did they not propagate them, were they too successful?

I must say that I do enjoy all the little mysteries that durin has embedded into this quest. What is Avernus? Who or what made the BCJ? What is the Emperor up to? All the unexplored ruins and tech within.

Perhaps the mechanisms for inter-stellar control had not yet been designed.

It's possible the war was already over by the time they were ready. Also, they might have just been intending the experiments as ways to develop new powers which they would later deploy in some finished product later on.

MM ok
Also Durin how do you get the psykers per turn. Do you roll for it or do you just do as fits your fancy and if you roll for it what is the chance of getting a stable Alpha + psyker.

Durin has stated before he rolls for pyskers, what grade they are (assume alpha grade is above Nat 100 with the amount of Nat 100's we Get) how many that are chaotic and for the chaotic how many they kill before dying)

It's okay :) we have nearly 1000 pages of posted stuff, and I only know some of it because I've been around since the quest started.

Maybe I should go though during posts and collect up all his WOG for future readers.

Our signet ring is the BCJ ring right? Or am I remembering things wrongly. Because if signet ring that gave us Urd access = BCJ ring, then we should seriously examine it further.

I suppose that the problems with the best and longest quests, I only started reading just before the Waaargh arc and I was entranced, didn't start commenting until halfway through the Waaargh arc and I was looking forward to the next update everyday, but that didn't mean I knew how he was running it. A well as long as the questing is good and the people are even more excellent I will always swallow my pride and admit to not knowing.:)

Alpha+ has a 0.001% chance or 100 followed by 100 followed by 91+, so close enough to zero for most purposes

Emperor I hope not Alpha Psyer's nowadays would go Chaosy so fast our heads would spin.
Not so, I believe.

If I recall correctly, mankind's evolution into a psychic race has increaesed both the number and the highest sane level. This was once beta, but is now alpha.

Is that not so, @durin?

In any event, we need to research two STCs as fast as we can:

The Ancient Defence Cruiser is something that the Nine Worlds really needs right now. We are degrading navally right now, due to losing ships faster than we rebuild them. The direct and indirect benefits of the ancient defence cruisers will go a long way towards allaying that, as it will allow us to build better ships, as well as to build cheapish defence ships that can challenge battleships 3:1 or so.

The other thing we need is Vanquisher cannons. We have just done mega vanquishers, so vanquishers should be unlocked now, and the sooner we do that, the more vanquishers we will have on everything by the time the orks come back armed to the tits with gargants.

We should probably prioritise both of these over pretty much anything not urgent, because we want them to have as much impact as they can before the orks arrive. I don't think there is anything in tranth's section that will not take multiple years to uncover that will have a bigger impact than those two.

We might also wish to consider setting Saren on doing the next level of congregation asps, if we have not yet unlocked the psychic research, as their hivemind/psychic choir ability, if we can get it, will be a major boon, given how many psykers we have.
