Successfully sneaking in and out of a Realm of a Chaos God while getting the info we wanted.

I would call that a successful mission.

@durin random question but when Ynnead split open Slaanesh stomach freeing the Eldar souls were the other eaten Eldar gods also freed into the Warp?

Also is Ynnead still around fighting in the Warp in general?

you do not know whether any other Eldar Gods escaped but if they did they would have been near powerlessness after spending thousands of years being digested
Ynnead has mostly pulled back into the Webway

Very interesting that the BC Sword was so incredibly effective in the Warp like that.

@durin so what are the direct rewards from this mission?

Will it be much easier to find Chaos followers of the Star Father?

That... was really weird. The BCJ are now officially even more intriguing than they were before. While examining them doesn't give us a direct benefit in terms of stat increases (they still help whether or not we know how they help), examinations might open up further utility or applications?

Successful spying mission proves that there is a way that we could potentially learn of events taking place outside of our sector.

Who knows, might be able to allow us to use an early warning system for threats that are still a few more weeks outside of our star system.

I wonder if Avernus was paying attention to this expedition. I have this theory that the BCJ were made to serve as a form of administrative identification, which would tie them to whatever security/monitoring system that was put in place.

Also nice to see the Sword no sell the Abomination's containment measures. It may have actually felt that cut.

Nice interlude durin. No signs of the Star Child except perhaps in the beginning

You see the beautiful and deadly world that that you call home and feel that it can see you. You see a flicker of moment as something that both does and does not exist changes position.

You look deeper and see the boundary between reality and unreality, thin and full of cracks but kept intact by some unknown means. You see one of those cracks and step though.

But that could easily be Old One techmagic there.

So no more blindly holding to tradition if we want to avoid majorly feeding the Abomination and good fodder to helping reform the Mechicanicus

I want to see how the Eldar will react when they come face to face with a bunch of Mon-Keigh that walked into the Palace of a Chaos God and came out alive and whole.

On that note:
@durin, can we have the trio sneak into another Chaos God's realm? It'd be neat (and nearly impossible) to save Isha from Nurgle.

I'm curious what the Trust's opinion on the Waaaagh!! For Avernus. Are they happy we took the brunt of it? Grateful they didn't have to fight on Avernus? Upset they weren't able to stand beside their ally? Or are they just shaking their heads saying fucking Avernus man?

@durin
You stated that the orks have looted many of our Basilisks Earthshaker Cannons and that when Garkill returns they may be deploying the copyed ones against us. The only place we might have lost some outside of our artillery range were:
  1. During the Elysium clearing.
  2. During the Harassment actions.
How likely is it that the orks manage to upgrade their Big Guns to our level outside of strapping the looted Earthshaker Cannons on their Vehicels? They know that our cannons shoot further and faster but is that knowledge enough to make them believe (and thereby building working better artillery) to get the same results?

SO the black crystal can cut and seemingly harm the pure essence of the warp itself. WTF is this stuff made made of. If it can harm pure warp essence then it can bring the "true death" to a demon as in permanently kill it not just banish it. what ever this stuff is, it alone would make demons fear us.
Also is the reason Ridcully can't help us reverse engineer the stuff from the Well because he is not trained or it's simply to far in the past.
finally one more joke question, can psykers do a reality marble in the warp. Cause the warp responds to the wishes of the wielder and to be able to form a reality marble in FTZ is by having an alien, demonic or otherwise unworldly view of the world and thus be able to shape it their whims. Demons do this in reality just by existing so I see no reason why in the warp which is about as immaterial as you can get a psyker with specific training can's create their own territory and fortify it.

you have no clue whether they will be able to copy them or not
as a note in my world Ork technology is not all or even mostly a result of the Waaagh Field, the main effect of the Waaagh field on their technology is making a collection of unlikely coincidences occur so that it works. This means that an Ork plane will not work without fuel even if all of the Orks think it should and that there tech is actually tech rather then pure magic

The reason he can't reverse engineer it is because it does not have a large enough psychic imprint of it construction
