RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

[Discussion] Volume 2, Chapter 11: No Brakes
So here's Mammoth Rider's recap of Chapter 10.

And Chapter 11 was absolutely awesome. It's 16 minutes and 45 seconds (or rather, 14:45 when cutting the OP and ED) of pure amazing-ness. The fights are great.

Oobleck's fighting style is hilarious for the glimpses we get of it--his weapon is a flamethrower-club, with the nozzle being the thermos's spout (what the hell is he drinking?). With Zwei serving as an impromptu baseball (dog is damn tough), it's the funniest sequence in the chapter.

The White Fang's plan is revealed, and we get some sweet one-one-one fights as the team does their best to stop it--everyone but Ruby steps up to the plate here, all buying her time to stop the White Fang. Yang's is definitely the highlight here, and it's got an awesome conclusion. The others all put in excellent showings.

I seriously cannot wait to see what goes down in Chapter 12.

Does anyone else think
the person who saved Yang is her mother? Not Summer Rose, but Yang's birth mother?

Seems far too obvious to me.

I couldn't help but think its Adam for some reason.

All I'm going to say is that
I hope they don't turn up again in a similar manner next episode. I want to see the various Hunter Teams doing a big damn heroes moment, with all the characters we know having a time to shine against a Grim army. I do NOT want this to be a repeat of last season where the final episodes were used to show off the combat abilities of 'new' characters'

The sad thing was, I was sitting there wondering if The only thing I know for real would work for this episode(I was half expecting Adam to show up for blake) and then JetstreamYang shows up.

One thing I do like about this episode, it shows the sheer difference in skill between RWBY and their teacher. I never once thought that Oobleck was actually threatened this episode.

Okay. When did Hakumen get into RWBY? Also, Blake sure has come quite a bit since the end of the first season. Hell, the whole thing was awesome. Oobleck is actually kind of scary in combat. Never would have thought he went for AoEs.

It's weird she's got a combination of all Rwby's weapon features.
My first thought was Dark Future!-Ruby. It doesn't really make much sense for a character from the present to have good enough intel to teleport onto a moving train to rescue Yang at a key moment, and enough power to cause Neo to flee on site, but then do nothing else. No interfering in the other fights, no dialogue, no stopping the train, nothing.

I've seen a couple people suggest that. I just don't see Ruby dropping her Scythe though.
