RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

So, just thought of something.

Since Ozpin's reincarnation works by way of the two souls eventually becoming one, with V8 establishing that Oscar's gaining control of the remainder of Ozpin's magic and recalling his deepest, oldest memories, how close to a full merge do you think the two are by the time RWBYJ arrive in Vacuo?

A tragic idea would be that they already completed the merge in the time the crew were in the Ever After.

Close, but still individual.

The transition between Oscar and Oz has gotten faster as the volumes have gone on.
While true, I think one, hopeful possibility for them is that in V10, they're not fully merged yet, but just at the cusp.

If they haven't fully merged by the series finale, it would allow Ozpin to finally depart to the afterlife while Oscar gets to choose his own path, no longer burdened by the shadow war.

Exactly.
Honestly I don't think Oscar and Ozpin will merge, let alone in the way people seem to fear.

Well, whatever happens with Oscar is cool and all, I think Neptune being based on T.O.P. (huge K-Pop celeb past decade or so) is right smart. Never see what happens to him after fall of beacon, though.

Speaking of the Justice League crossover, had looked into past posts and found stuff that did not age well:

Quoting posts from a year ago with the intention of mocking their position is not acceptable behaviour. This post has been infracted under Rule 4.

Weiss is curious as she is probably the most emotionally independent member of Team RWBY with the thing that even if her character development is driven by her friends she does most of her growth in private, with it always following the same pattern with something happening that forces to change but then it isn't until she alone that she actually actualize the change, Blake and Yang tend to actualize their change when interacting with other people and Ruby needs to quite literally lose two her friends, one of them twice, have her worldview completely destroyed multiple times be betrayed by basically all her authority figures, be dropped into a magical land where she has to literally sacrifice pieces of herself to move forward, blow up and attack everyone she loves, be physically and psychologically tortured by a vengeful ice cream, try to commit suicide and then be confronted by a being that is basically god with the fact that her mother wasn't perfect for her to process her character development, and she is just starting to do it.
