RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

Roman is keeping all his Dust in one warehouse? Volatile powders, potions, vials, and crystals all stacked up in giant shipping containers? Is there any way this is not going to end with our heroines busting in there and setting off the entire pile?

You know, I completely forgot to mention that in my review/analysis post of the episode. All that Dust and Dust-related merchendise collected in one place is probably enough explosive material equivalent to a 50-megaton thermonuclear bomb. Just one stray spark or dropped vial and Vale will be wiped off the map...

remember in the last ep of season 1? that crate took two people to move and had at most 18 crystals. i think all the dust is in armored containers.

The mechanics of how dust works is probably not going to be covered in quite that much detail... Unless Rooster Teeth publish Weiss' Dust pamphlet and sell it on their site/at RTX.

And honestly? I'm fine with that. The show already have a short run time, I don't want more wasted on exposition when it could have been used to make the plot less messy.

On that note, can someone give me link to a place where I can download it? Has it been posted on YouTube yet? (I think this question should be fine since the show was free-to-watch from the get-go).

Just watched it. I know it's been said before, but never has a food-fight been more epic. And Ruby's theme song power up was great!
... and I'm also somewhat nostalgic for Kids Next Door now...

If I remember from last year correctly, RoosterTeeth posts every episode on their Youtube channel a week after the premiere.

... Should I even mention how I managed to download the video because I don't trust my own ISP enough to expect it to buffer a 13 minute video, whose server is probably overseas only, without errors or a premature cut?

Because, really, all I needed was Chrome to do it.

If you're a Rooster Teeth sponsor, you get the episode about 2 hours earlier than everyone else, which to me is as good if not better than downloading it.
EDIT: Today, sponsors got the episode 2 hours earlier than they normally do.

EPISODE 2 IS UP!

Highlights:

1) Apparently, the military is paranoid about something happening soon during the festival. So much so, that they sent in an entire fleet of warships and troops.

2) The game the girls were playing in the library is apparently a bizarre mix of Risk, Yu-Gi-Oh!, D&D, and Diplomacy. At least, that's what I think it is. I'm pretty sure about the Risk-expy though.

3) Blake is scared about what Torchwick and the Baddies are planning. Annnddd rightfully so, as Cinder and her cronies have infiltrated the school disguised as transfer students... and Ruby's the first one to meet them face-to-face. Cinder's creepy smile afterward tells me that's not a good thing at all.:o

There were definitely a lot of good little moments.

The one complaint I have is that the board game was a little over the top for my taste.

You've obviously never been into a proper board game shop. I've played games that are FAR more complex... that one seems at least internally consistent.
