RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

We got some story boards, mocap and early 3D outlines for character poses in the most recent RWBY Rewind.

It seems like Blake and Yang VS Adam may be coming up which leaves me extremely nervouscited XD

Also we may get a look behind Adam's mask.
...Three seasons late.

Hard to get hyped after the tragedy of v5. They'll have to do a LOT of backtracking to make it remotely convincing.

@Zam, I believe it was you yourself who said
Adam was only ever a threat because he used sneak attacks and whatnot. A 2 on 1 will be a complete curbstomp, even more than v5's literal curbstomp.

I'm still hoping that one of these days someone besides Jaune will react to Pyrrha dying. Like maybe Ruby who literally watched her get murdered. Or maybe Ren and Nora, her teammates. And maybe Ruby will react to Penny dying outside of that one brief "combat ready" moment in volume 5.

But I won't hold my breath

Literally happened with Ren and Nora last episode. As was pointed out to you after you jumped the gun.

Wow it couldn't be more clear that you didn't actually watch the episode just got gifs.

Jaune isn't the only one of the team who sees the statue and mourns her there. So do Ren and Nora. And all three compare her going into a fight she knew she would probably die in as a contrast to there own situation with Salem. Coming to the conclusion that just like her they can't walk away despite the odds.

Like come on. That post isn't even an unflattering read of events, it's just a hot take that doesn't match up with what happens not 2 minutes later

Arthur and Maria are my favourites out of that one but Blake's fucking face

i cant breathe, too busy laughing

Title card is up:

"Stealing from the Elderly"

"Our heroes have one shot to pull off the heist of their lives, and if they're going to succeed, they'll need everyone to do their part. It's go time."

If only they had someone who could very easily disgise themselves as a bird and fly right in to the hangar....

And then what? Steal a ship by himself, pick them up, and then get to Atlas without getting shot down? That seems like it has a lot of places it can go wrong.
I mean, that probably would have worked better than what they went with, since they might actually belive Qrow if he's on the radio on account of him not being an elderly lady.

@Zam

Looks like your take on Adam as a opportunistic coward is being confirmed. But this really shows why those types of people are scary, they might be cowards who are a lot weaker than they try to present themselves at, but that's a cold comfort when they're ambushing you in a dark alley at night while you're all alone.

I mean, that probably would have worked better than what they went with, since they might actually belive Qrow if he's on the radio on account of him not being an elderly lady.
Well Qrow might not actually know how to fly a ship though. And if not for Adam they never would have needed to try the radio ploy in the first place, no one would have known that anything was wrong.

Edit:

Oh hey, the "Everyone is Neo" season is back again. Though that looks more like a disguised Cinder in that case. But really unless they spent a long time planning this heist it seems impossible for Cinder and Neo to be here already. Between Adam, Cordo and her giant mech, plus probably a giant kraken Grimm attracted by all the panic Cordo is causing this finale seems booked already. And Cinder's scenes made it seem more like she's planning to hit the group in Atlas rather than hoping to catch up to them before they leave Argus.

They have the power to travel at the speed of the plot. Remember how fast it took Tyrian to get from Oniyuri to Salem's Lot?

to be fair it's way easier for tyrian to go from a known to a known place than to search for someone on an entire continent/country so it makes sense it took radically different amounts of time there and back

Alternatively they took the train. Which, y'know, three of the cast did and seemed to arrive relatively quickly. Woo, modern transport, so spooky, much plot.

No, I don't remember that. How long did that take exactly? In-universe I mean. And why are you assuming that he didn't have any kind of transportation. Hazel and co used a airship to return to Salem's domain. There's no reason he couldn't have used one to get to Anima and then parked it somewhere relatively close by before approaching on foot for better stealth.

Ugh, of course she busted out a Mecha.
Not necessarily a bad thing; RT clearly knows its genre conventions, target audience predilections and what makes for a cool fight. One I don't doubt I'll enjoy.

Still this old comic immediately bubbled up in my mind as soon as I saw the piloted Battlebot:

If I recall the Qrow/Tyrian fight ends Chapter 7, and then Tyrian showing back up in Salem land is opening of Chapter 11. So it clearly takes a bit of time.
