RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

The last paragraph is making me hit poe's law really hard. Has Viz been releasing a lot of harem anime or did they have an infamous example of turning something into one or something? It feels like it Has to be a joke to suggest that but I'm not understanding what would be the inspiration for such a joke.

Wait, is it aimed at the fans who Do think they could pull something like this off? Like the people with what was it RWBY rewrite or rebirth or something like that? And the people who wrote fics that try and make everything focus on Jaune and have all the girls falling over him? I've never read such a story but I Know they exist out there commonly enough for someone to mock them…

No, pretty sure he's legit in thinking that's what people want, even as he dismisses everything after V2 as not part of the source material and throws around 'Montys Vision'. It's hilarious.

Darn, I really did not want to accept that he was being serious

Hatedom fanfic writers hurled abuse at Kerry on twitter when an episode of V8 was delayed for a week because the Texas blizzards left Austin without power, because they couldn't write their 'superior version' until they had the real thing to scream about, and called CRWBY privileged and lazy. You know, while they huddled in the dark and the cold, lives in legitimate danger.

So yeah. I can believe it.

he's always serious especially when trying to make it sound like he's joking. he is not in a good headspace hasn't been since like 2014-15

...Ok now I'm feeling like I failed a perception check. That, or I have managed to successfully repress all knowledge of whoever this person is cause I sincerely thought they were just some random nobody.

The VAs came together to do a couple recipes for Thanksgiving.

Is there a way for a guy like Ironwood to do what he did in a military command structure with checks, balances, and the right to disobey an illegal or immoral order? Because I feel like as it stands, the entire army would march off a cliff for him, whereas many within the US air force would tell him to go fuck himself.

If those things are functioning? He probably wouldn't have been on the Council in the first place.

Edit: Also Grand Columbia kind of comes to mind for a place trying to have democracy, but also keeping a guy in charge of the military able to overrule things, and it not working in the end.
