RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

You know what that kinda reminds me of? I remember a short snippet from somewhere where the POV was a character fighting Weiss and appeared to be winning until suddenly, Weiss revealed that she was laying down glyphs all over the room and starts a blizzard with a line like "You are in my domain, interloper". Anyone remember something like that?

I do not recall reading something to that effect but it sounds awesome.

RT are doing their questions and answer session now if anyone wants to check in here's a link.

Thanks, Zam. My response: Grr, there won't be any more Character Shorts or trailers pre-V4. I was really hoping for something with Blake, especially, since she's run off on her own and so therefore would likely have been in numerous fights.

Most interesting piece of information: 6-8 month timeskip since V.III. (Which, incidentally, means that everybody's a year older now than when the series started...) I wonder how much of that was post-fall of Beacon and how much was after the last moments we saw. How long has it been since RNJR have been out on their journey. Do we catch up with them months later (see, eg, Nora's longer hair in the new short)? This also gives new light into how much Daddy Schnee has had to eff up Weiss in the head.

Happy to be of service, Owls over on SB gave me the idea. I sympathise with the characters shorts, though I cannot fault them wanting to focus their energy o the show proper.

Hard to say, I think its meant to be 6 to 8 months since they left, but (waves hand) it is kind of unsure. If it was from the fall specifically then maybe a month or two less due to it going from autumn to winter?

Apparently the town in the short is on the outskirts of Vale so their trip is apparently taking awhile.

In a bit of a "LOL...hey, wait..." moment, I just read a Tumblr post re: Miles's answer about "What direction is Vol. 4 heading?" where he said, "Mainly east. Some north." Said post pointed out that...Mistral is east of Vale, and Atlas is north. Given what we know about the characters' progress from the end of Vol. 3, Miles may have actually given a completely truthful answer.

I was worried about that myself, but no, *just read the story yourself*
I did and all I'm getting is by becoming fat she supposedly turned into a professional bowler because the opposing teams already knocked out were full of fat guys. and that unfortunately does make sense but isn't funny. It is literally the most unfunny part of the entire green text.

also she got the chocolate mustache earlier

i mostly just asked if there would be more acrobatic moves and stuff in the future...
There's always an access problem with Q&A sessions--they can only answer so many questions in so much time, and there are likely thousands and thousands of fans submitting questions. It's just poor luck, sadly.
