RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

...tiny Weiss is adorable.

And it looks like most people's fanon about the White Trailer has been proven correct: the fight is entirely due to her father being a dickbag rather than anything more complicated or metaphorical. Though it seems the elder Schnee is even more corrupt than we thought, seeing as he's trying to weaponize Grimm in addition to being anti-faunus.

Ah hell. :( I guess my hope that Papa Schnee was the Henry Ford of Remnant forced into an uncompromising position because 'we don't negotiate with terrorists' is even farther from the truth now. So much for hoping that they could have family troubles without the father being an amoral bastard, if only for varieties sake.

Also, apparently Weiss was a piano prodigy, as well as a singer and huntress. What can't she do?
Her closet also had other instruments too:
That's a violin case right there, or some other form of string instrument. Maybe some other stuff; chances are she blew through a lot of instruments until she realized that it wouldn't get daddy's attention.

Hmm, is that heart-shaped case supposed to be a harp?

There's potential for a comedy fic here, with tiny Weiss trying her hand at increasingly bizarre instruments to try to gain daddy's attention.

Oh, and I guess we did see Papa Schnee in the manga before he appeared in the actual show, albeit only his back.

The shocking truth: Papa Schnee wanted Weiss to get into Death Metal and couldn't really be having with any of this soft little classical music nonsense.

Well at least when the Manga says "souls of Grimm" for a canonically souless being, it really is just a translation issue over the word "essence", like others had already believed.

However that just makes the Grimm even worse, because I don't trust anything that is even in a state of Chained Possession. Chains are easily broken.

Plus side to that, far more enemies to encounter in an RPG now!

Be adorable, approachable, and be easy to deal with? [/Annoying pedantrics]
I was thinking "match Ruby's height without wearing high heels", but works too.

One out of 3 aint bad.
I guess "easy to grab by the scruff of their neck" does meet certain definitions of "easy to deal with". :p

Say this face isnt Adorable
Weiss looks adorably evil. I imagine her making villainous plans but falling through on the execution, like stealing from the Faunus but providing just compensation, or paying a decent wage and providing healthcare/dental benefits to her Faunus slave-workers.

I hope we get an official English translation sooner or later. Pending that, I hope someone asks Miles and Kerry for clarification regarding "possession-type Grimm".

Couple of thing occurred to me on a rewatch of ep10.

When Port mentioned 'one final match' I don't think he was referring to him and Oobleck making a last stand against the swarming Grimm to let the students escape. Remember that they were the commentators for the Vytal Tournament and they're now standing in the arena. My guess is that he's going 'let's end the Festival with a Bang' sort of thing.

Also for Adam, people have commented that his line/tone is rather disturbing and I agree. The question is why? He certainly wasn't like that with Blake in the Black Trailer or his flashback appearance. Now we know originally that Cinder strong-armed the White Fang into following her after he told them to f*** off, but his scene at the end of S2 he seemed to be a different sort of person.

I say different because in his S3Ep7 appearance he considered himself very much part of the White Fang:
The White Fang is not an organization for hire. We're a force of revolution!
You're asking my men to die for your cause - a human cause. (puts a hand to the hilt of his sword) That is not an idea I am willing to entertain.
But in S2Ep12 it's:
No, but they'll listen to me.
This doesn't seem like the guy to whom the White Fang was everything. This seemed like somebody talking about convincing a separate/unimportant group of people to do what his boss wants.

What I'm getting at is we know Cinder has access to freaky Grimm things that can affect a Maiden's powers and presumably Aura as well (Amber is apparently dying after all). After strong-arming Adam maybe she used something like that beetle on him for insurance? As a side effect it's altered his mentality to a certain degree.

Well, we've got Adam v. Blake. Weiss against a [Palpatine] Fully Armed and Operational Paladin[/Palpatine]. Ruby against Neo. GIANT GRIMM DRAGON MAN. Possibly Cinder against Oz or Pyrrha+Amber's remaining powers. And Yang...who even knows what she's doing. Raven maybe? I would like to see more of her.

There's a lot of things that could be happening. Waiting is going to suck.
