RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

I'm not quite sure if this is right, but I don't think Cinder will hack Penny to go full beast mode.
No, she'll take control of certain systems, causing oddities that make Penny's attacks more lethal than they should be.
And the Pyrrha gets arrested/shot in the face for destroying extremely valuable military property.

if they didn't want to risk penny getting broken, they shouldn't have enrolled her in a combat tournament :V

But Jaune will save her!

With the power of love?

Jaune is Pyrrha's Achilles Heel.

Fun fact, on the recent RWBY stream a few or more weeks back, when one of the crew members said that the finale for volume 3 would be around or on valentines day weekend, Miles asked something along the lines of "Wait, are you serious?" and then when someone responded with a yes, he said, "Oh my god, that's perfect!" while laughing maniacally.

So, have fun with that knowledge.

Great that means it'll be roughly around my birthday!!

Ozpin said witnesses reported seeing "robots and rose petals in a dance club", so I may be mistaking it for someone shoving the wreck in there for some reason.

There were definitely rose petals in the nightclub, but strangely they're not coming from Ruby, or the fight with the Paladin

How are these rose petals getting around when Ruby's not there? Unless it's a passive side effect of her potentially being the Summer Maiden.

Obviously its passive symbolism, further reinforcing the Seadragon ship as canon, due to the presence of rose petals (a flower associated with romance), in the same scene as the two of them even when Ruby isn't there to provide an actual explanation as to their presence. :V

I figured Junior woke up with rose petals around him after Yang knocked him out and decided that he liked how they looked and added them to his club.

Another thought.

We don't know what Velvet's weapon is yet. She likes photography but sucks at it artistically because she tends to aim at the center of mass . . . She may have weaponized a camera.
Two theories are prominent right now.

1. Assuming Velvet's weapon is her camera, it may capture temporary copies of other Hunters/Huntress' weapons. Notice how her picture of Sun focused on Ruyi Bang/Jingu Bang.

2. Her weapon may not be the camera at all, and remains unrevealed. Also likely.

Point one would certainly explain Coco's comment about 'saving it up' all semester.

Although if that's the case I kind of would have wished for shots of Velvet in the background taking photos during practice fights.

Again, moving toward him. She can move really, really, really fast, yes indeed, but he's probably anticipating her moving towards him as well. It's a narrow corridor with only one way out, and that involves turning her back to him, which will likely get her killed. He knows that the only chance that offers a fraction of survival possibility is to try and go around him (He was watching the fights, so I'm pretty sure he know of her semblance), and will probably clothesline her with his pimp as fuck metal leg.
Sorry this took a bit to get back to, I wanted to rewatch Volumns two and three to make sure I didn't miss anything. I can say for sure that Ruby hasn't (on screen at least) used her Semblance any time that Merc, Cinder, or Emmy would have seen her.

Edit: and there's the trailer

As a side note, I'm not the only one that finds it ironic that Phyrra is based on Achillies but Jaune is the one with an invincibility related Semblance, am I?

Not really?

Achille's wasn't actually remembered for his invulnerability either.

It's called an Achille's Heel for a reason.
