RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

Assuming that they either do not have an impetus to return to the material plane (which they probably do given the situation they were in) or the beach itself doesn't have an urgency that they need to escape from (like in Old)
I kind of expect them to just collapse for a day or two to recover after something like two or three days with little to no rest beyond getting Nora to the closest place that wouldn't arrest them for asking for help and coming up with new plans, even if it takes them realizing that they have no idea how to get out and won't get any closer exhausted as they are by now.

They all need to calm down, unpack things, and figure out what to do once they aren't dead-on-their-feet tired like they probably are by the end of Volume 8's clusterfuck.
...yeah, because extreme emotional dependence to the point where you suffer a breakdown without the other person is so kawaii desu~
If it's RWBY Chibi doing it it's funny, but in the main show it would be a sign of just how much therapy the two of them need by the end of it.

"Making fun of emotional problems is okay so long as it's cute" is certainly not a take I thought I'd see on a RWBY thread, but here we are.

Have you not watched Chibi?
I learned long ago that it's never worth it to look at side material, so no.

Wait so just to be clear, someone who shipped Blake with the guy who groomed and abused her and said that was fine "Cos its an AU" is complaining about an exaggerated parody of Beeunions?
Your unwillingness to engage the idea of a good version of a character is not my problem dude. Move on.

Then you missed out on (for the most part) prime comedy.
And if you are ignoring all RWBY side material then you are missing out on a fair amount of stuff.
That's fine, I have enough media to go through already, and the taking the gamble that I'll like side content this time isn't worth it to me.

I can see one impetus in the form of a pink and brown stabby angry gremlin with a personal vendetta against Ruby (who might be on her way to a breakdown) preventing them from just indulge in cuddling sessions.

The really sad part to this is that the only person who realized this was Ironwood of all people.
Well, kind of. Learning about Salem would cause more "automated" Grimm attacks in the short term. That truth would cause misery, fear, and anger, as every huntsmen knows. Managing the emotional issues of the populace is one of the duties of a leader in Remnant, one which incited a war in the past. Trying NOT to attract the attention of Grimm is a major part of how humans and faunus have survived against Grimm for their entire history.

If the decision-making were up to me, I'd keep her a secret too. Servants flocking to Salem, people like Tyrian, are more difficult to deal with if they are grouped together like an army rather than independent criminals. Dealing with Grimm, Salem's magic, AND terrifying humanoids with aura? No thank you.

If Salem revealed herself to the world then fine, the leaders can deal with the populace's outcry honestly or with dishonesty. But dealing with her in the shadows seemed more plausible, seemed like it would require fewer sacrifices.

Short term things might be bad if Salem gets revealed, but long term I think it would make a great rallying force. You have, quite literally, a target for whom a lot of the worlds evils could be pinned on. Using that to unite the world against the Grimm could conceivably be enough to push her back to her island, and even if she's immortal and can't actually be killed, there's nothing stopping you from having an Altas Battleship flying over her castle and taking pot shots every one and a while to stop her from regeneration fully.

Either way, I think you're overthinking it.
Bruh, I stopped thinking about it literally the moment conversation drifted to something else. The only times I've thought about it since are when people keep talking to me about it.
