RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

Like with the Alpha Megoliath last volume it's important to remember that Ruby hasn't mastered her power to the point where she can just instantly conjure up the silver light on command. Even The Grimm Reaper seemed to need a second or two in order to gather her thoughts.

This is why Cinder put such an emphasis on how there are some things you can't do alone. She knew that fighting Team RWBY head on would mean getting blasted with the eye beams but she was counting on Neo to disrupt Ruby before she could unleash that power. And aside from Yang stepping in and saving Ruby everything went according to plan.

Also Cinder is still copying fairy godmother dearest apparently.
Though that tornado effect is sick so I hope we see all the Maidens use a variant of that at some point.

Nice to see it confirmed
that Nora's Witch Broom mode from last volume wasn't just a oneoff or some weird hover mode but is just straight up flight. Now I want to see Yang pulling a Cinder by getting similar modifications for Ember Celica so that she can finally fly.

I take this episode as further proof that
Roman Torchwick is dead and everyone knows.
People have been speculating for months now that Neo would use the Relic to find out "What happened to Roman" to see if he was really dead or just hiding somewhere, but instead Neo did not use it and instead let Cinder ask the question. So again, Neo KNOWS Roman is dead and is just looking for payback.
Honestly at this point anyone who holds to the idea "Roman is alive! We never saw a body!" are just in as much denial as Salem has been.
So I say to the Roman Stans that want the entertaining thief back the same thing Light told Salem.
"Let. Him. Go."

Also eye for an eye, Yang for Roman.

What's the betting we'll find not just Yang, but also the dozen or so people Cinder knocked into the abyss with her debut explosion, on the other side?

Like as a beeshipper I'm worried but I know Yang's not dead. This is not how death works in RWBY.
Also nothing Ambrosious makes or does destroys things so where ever Yang fell to(my thought is likely the place the dead go too) so there should be a way out if no one uses the staff and losses the hub world space

My theory is that not only is Yang not dead, obviously, she'snot even going to be hard to get back and the gang will be in Vacuo by the end of the next episode.

Crack theory:

The "limbo" in Volume 9 will contain all the dead characters, which means Adam's back, bay-bee.

Hey look, it's next episode's (or volume's) driver of drama!

Okay, time for this weeks episode. I'm sure it will be a peaceful breather after everything.

Photosensitivity warning again. Oscar, are you playing with the settings on Long Memory?
And Jaune gets portal sick :)
Empty subway? Ah, Full subway with everyone staying well away from the weird glowy thing. Fair enough.
This is not a pleasant ep for Jaune.
Oh hey, Penny's already figured out her powers can replace her jet boots. That won't be important later, I'm sure...
... A sandstorm?! Oh no...
Oh great, Cinders in the Bridge. And she starts blasting innocent people, because she's Cinder.
And now a flashback... Huh, she actually apologised to Neo.
Jinn looks regretful at answering the question.
And Cinder knows Emerald has defected.
That shot of the control room, with all the people panicking, and then it cuts to them dead...
Watts and Cinder getting along without any venom is creepy.
The #1 Dud cup...
"What do you think a kingdom is? The People, or just the chunk of land they live on?" As always, Robin speaks truth.
Bomber Bot!
And Marrow with the save, but breaks his aura in the process...
Harriet, WHAT IN THE NAME OF FUCK ARE YOU DOING?
Vine, same question!
As much contempt I have for what James has become, no one deserves waking up to Jacques.
... Oh no, he's loose. I'm sure he will behave in a calm and rati- I can't even finish it, he's gonna fuck up everything he can!
Winter, you should have taken his weapons somewhere else. I know you're pressed for time, but-
... well. James has passed the next point in his descent. Before now, there was always a 'logical' reason for his cold blooded murder. That... that was for his own satisfaction, nothing more.
Oh shit. First one into the abyss. And oh god, Blake...
Well, thats an epic battle.
Oh thank god, Vine has a brain. Shame that Harriet is still running on spite and loss.
Oh wonderful, Watts is sending the bomb where he wants it to go. That's not going to end well...
And Ironwood is still focused on the staff. Not the people, not the evacuation, just the staff, as if he gets that, everything will be magically fixed.
"I've never wavered in fighting the enemies of this kingdom, and I won't start now." As polite fuck yous go, that's suitably epic.
They need Penny... Whoops. Weiss's exact words come back to bite them... And Grimm...

I'm pretty sure it's just that he can't destroy anything in the process of creating something. The results of said creation process can harm/kill things just fine.

It's like the situation with Jafar from the second Aladdin movie. He couldn't directly kill Aladdin with his powers but could set up a situation that would most likely kill Aladdin.
