RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

And the Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of The Wheel of Time. But the traditional-style anime was a beginning.

I know for a certainty that someone will use it to argue that RWBY was made in Japan. I have seen it before and I can see it again.
The foolish people unable to read Trademarks and Copyrights that clearly say USA, specifically Texas at RosterTeeth Headquarters. Just as long as people don't constantly try and 'correct' encyclopedia articles to say it was Japanese. I mean that would be such a denial of reality as Flat Earth Anti-Vaxxers. Who I have had the unique experience of meeting. People can be that stupid.

One should never doubt the limits of human stupidity.

Because no matter what; no amount of logic or easily obtained factual information will prevent some idiot from going above and beyond the call of duty and showing us all just how much further the hole goes.

So... exactly what their characters are?
Those are aspects of their personalities but the characters are far more complex then that.

Eh, whichever. I just hope there isn't too much character degradation/polarization in the manga. And by polarization I mean said certain aspects or traits heavily ramped up in order to appeal to the readers etc.

Man, Warner Bros. is pushing the Japanese release harder than I thought they would. Japanese art book, A-list talent for the dub, now a manga? Wasn't expecting that. I mean, how much interest is there for RWBY in Japan, anyway?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was more demand than in the US.

Eh, the style isn't too great but I think I'll get a better opinion once I actually see the product.

Still, how does one translate Monty's crazy fighting style unto a page?

Like @Xero Key noted, aside from Yang's Foreign Fanservice trope (although she is the Ms Fanservice), that sums up pretty well the characters.
While Yang's outfit is not the most skin covering thing ever and she definitely qualifies as attractive to what many see as "standards" for high attractiveness I hardly think she counts as a fanservice character because she not repeatedly sexualised or has attention drawn to that aspect of her body. Its just what she wears and how she looks. Frankly that's one of the bigger things I'm worried about in this manga adaptation the 'bounce' fanservice denigrating a great character to being defined solely by her body and ability to appeal to lusty readers.

That's going to be interesting. Especially since Ruby's trailer is supposed to be in the future, isn't it?
