RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

I'm not trying to say the system is by any means perfect, its a flaw, but it seems to have been made intentionally to avoid the kingdoms being able to just screw one another over which I can understand at least.

It's a stupidly crippling flaw without any way to overcome or work around it.

But fine. I guess the good guys will see that after Mercury's videos leak, the Atlesian public turns on the military, and Ironwood is sent packing in disgrace.

Also an actual theory on the last episode, Qrow and the students will fight and defeat the dragon, but possibly taking heavy causalities and its death may unleash a bunch of Grim, but even if it all goes well its for nought as Ozpin's dead and or defeated and Cinder's got all the power. Or the exact opposite of that, Cinder is sent running, though probably not by Ozpin alone, and its the Grim that come across as winning the day.

I... honestly don't have the energy or time to debate this, sorry.

Someone has a great idea for what happens next episode:

Arslan breaks out orange wedges and juice boxes for everyone after the mechs are finished so everyone is refreshed for the dragon fight.

XD

Also I am looking at screencaps of the fights and it really doesn't look like Arslan has any Dust on her, which means she either ate it or her Semblance is being a Firebender ;)
Her design invokes monks and chi users from Asian mythology so her using fire is expected. She might be one of the raw form or direct infusers.

That's definitely an option and a totally awesome one actually, heck maybe Bolin is too, they seem to have similar outfits, my head-canon places them both as coming from the same area. Seriously though I hadn't considered that but really good point there, it would work really well.

Bolin?

What color does Bolin reference? Because I'm getting green thanks to Legend of Korra.
Looking at the wiki there's a few things he could represent, I'll copy the text over to avoid re-writing and possibly getting it wrong:
Bolin is a Chinese name usually given to boys. It can mean "elder brother", or "rain". Rain brings to mind the color blue.
The word hori roughly translates to "yellow" in Basque.
"Hori" is derived from the Japanese surname "Horii" (堀井). The first kanji can be translated to "moat".

Edit: Here's a linko too his WIki page as well, Bolin

So, lots of Grimm flying around. There might be hordes of Goliaths stomping into the city at any moment (they're kind of slow). There's a giant dragon that can spawn more Grimm flying around that will probably start attacking the school. Atlas has been getting its ass kicked lately but Ruby did say that without the airships the city would fall and now that the rogue ship is down they should be able to get back in the fight without risking getting shot down. I really, really hope we get a moment like this next episode.

Whether against hordes of Grifiins or a stampede of Goliaths I don't really care. I want to see the military be useful for once.

Alternatively something like this. Got to soften up that Dragon somehow so that the students can defeat it without it seeming weak.

If we do have an actual casualty (no confirmation on Penny, so I can hope!) I want it to be Jaune. Enough taking the goddamn screentime away from more interesting characters. Just one or two more Jaune episodes for his death and funeral, then he won't be a problem ever again.

In order to slacken the worst of the finale waiting pains, I've rendered the entire RWBY cast (to the best of my ability) in XCOM2's Character Pool, ready for use in your campaign! Careful, they're not as durable as they are in canon...

I've been posting this around to make sure everyone who would interested in it gets it! Sorry for spam posting this...

To download, click here! Try not to get our beloved (and less than beloved) characters *too* brutally murdered.

In order to import them into your Character Pool, save this file under >My Documents >My Games > XCOM2 >XComGame >CharacterPool >Importable.

Let me know if there are any issues!

Yeah how about no?
I actually find Jaune interesting especially since he ISNT a main character he is B team. He doesnt get magical power ups or just get to be plain awesome from the get go he has to work HARD for it. The seasons have shown this to the point Jaune now is at or almost at the same levels of his team bar Pyrrha which is a FAR cry from how he started.
And since he rarely is in focus he can be used to get a perspective that we the audience dont get, one done well in the tournament where we know why pyrrha is upset but no one else does and Jaune's confusion and attempts to help underscore just how in the dark everyone else not team RWBY or the teachers is in this series.

If they killed off Jaune I think it would be a waste because honestly he is the one who has had the most growth as a character. Others have had growth like Weiss and Blake but Jaune is the one in the background showing the most Maturity as time goes on.
Though Yang's performance of the silent clap has a good chance to overshadow Jaune's growth.

Also wouldnt it be funny if Jaune was the main character the whole time? He isnt the fighter but rather the one telling the story? I dont know if an anime or book series did that or not where it closes on a side character finishing the lecture on the events of the story, I think one did but I am unsure.

It's not uncommon.
