RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

I say we embrace continuity as a state of mind for RWBY. Worked out decent for transformers.

No, TF uses the final fantasy alt universes approach for the most part.

To be fair, the reset at the end of the movie series in-universe made sense since it would be extremely hard to make things worse than how they currently were.

I meant the original Flashpoint, aka the thing that's still fucking the comics over. Or maybe just coming back from the dead for no good reason.

Batman: Barry, did you go back in time again?

Barry: What? No!.....yes.

Okay, it's not actually fair to blame Barry. They realized a few years later having a hero as the cause of reality being fucked up was probably a bad idea and made it Dr Manhattans doing instead, because DC loves to squeeze all the money out of Watchmen that they can, but I'm still bitter because my Flash was Wally West, the most successful legacy hero ever, who also had the advantage of not being Whitebread Blandy Blandern, and... *Gestures at the last 15+ years of comics*

Yeah, sorry about that. Just going along with the joke.

Though that does beg the question of which DC villain would be responsible for the crossover.

Definitely would need to be one with some form of reality manipulation to pull this off.

Oh no, the joke was good. And I will happily give Barry Allen twenty different kinds of shit.

I kind of like the idea of a Mxy with an interest in newer forms of entertainment...

Then there's that one time Superboy Prime punched a hole in reality and that's the reason for the retcons.

A lot of the blame, though, is put on DC just pressing the reset button every time they don't see the exact numbers they want being made and then just using cheap excuses for why the reset button got pressed, usually through crisises.

given this looks like a reboot of the comic but with Volume 8 knowledge (basically peak expecince versions) put into the bodies they used in the comic, and restarted, I'd say it's the imp smashing the bothers and his toys together

I'm kind of expecting a Salem/Darkseid postcredits. But there's plenty of other possibilities.
Also it feels like forever since we can say it again but we're a week from the next volume!

Fun fact, when the Grimm are destroyed in the forest they don't break apart like regular Grimm but look more like holographic projections, so its possible the woods are some kind of simulation, or the Grimm are being influenced/created y an outside force.
