RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

And a day or two later she decided they needed to slow down so she can find more to herself than her power and him so she doesn't almost cripple herself looking for purpose again.
That's more or less what I meant by everything getting worse XD but yeah, that's a good summary.

They could have given it to the horse part since that is a different Grimm compared to its rider.
I vaguely recall it breathing out some kinda miasma didn't it? (I could be wrong there) Maybe it just hadn't grown strong enough for that to be poison?

Oh shit, Arrowfell is still scheduled for later this year! I was thinking it was one of the many games delayed to 2023 because of *wildly gestures at this year*

I like that is specifies season 1 of Gen:Lock.
Guys.
Ironwood is fine.
He has been isekai'd to the Pokemon World and is now a Professor.
A world that's already safe so he doesn't go nuts trying to save it? Might work. *remembers the movies and ends of most games* That might not work.
Yah, but RWBY's at least close. Qrow doesn't even look like him.
He has the... shirt?

The nicest thing I'll say about Qrow's art for Paladins is "Hey look, someone finally gave him muscle definition" given how much of a fucking stick he is in the Maya engine (though that's also a complaint I have for almost every character in the show because the designers are cowards).

His face is completely off though.

I think the show runners have basically said they're not good with muscles and Elm was basically an experiment to see if they could do an muscular character.

I don't think the show runners (i.e. the writers/directors) have anything to do with being good or bad at muscles; that would be down to the art style and the animation software. Which yes, in the past hasn't been super great: Just look at the development of Sun's muscles, which were literally just painted onto his model in Volumes 1-3 and then when they were actually a part of his model in 4-6 basically disappeared unless you were seeing him from the side.

The show runners not having anything to do with the art style misunderstands what "show runner" means. They are in charge of the entire show. It's not like they're handed a random pile of assets and forced to make do-these are the people who should be giving artists directions and telling them to redo the work if it doesn't fit their vision. The show is bad at muscles because the show runners have decided that finding a way to make muscles look good in the show isn't worth the effort.
