RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

The show runners not having anything to do with the art style misunderstands what "show runner" means. They are in charge of the entire show. It's not like they're handed a random pile of assets and forced to make do-these are the people who should be giving artists directions and telling them to redo the work if it doesn't fit their vision. The show is bad at muscles because the show runners have decided that finding a way to make muscles look good in the show isn't worth the effort.

Or that they, you know, don't have unlimited time, money, and personnel to make sure every single thing is perfect, and other things are more important.

This is true. But those limitations to not remove from them the responsibility for the decisions they made. They had final say on the art style and animation software used. I'm not saying that those decisions were incorrect, but they are resposible for the consequences of those decisions.

It's great to see them back! I look forward to the perspective of someone who didn't have to any waiting during Seasons 4 and 5. Will it flow better?
Watching other reaction channels on Youtube there does tend to be a lot less concern over pacing since for them it tends to go right from the end of 4 to the start of 5 right away, so they generally don't have to worry about the hiatus stuff or can watch more in one sitting then post them separately later on.

That said, the reactor paces out the reactions so they're not watching V4 & V5 in one sitting.

True but i feel the slendered look works. issue is cannot do "flex' scenes as easily on budget, and muscles do "disappear" on an active person just like muscle jiggles if not in use.
Thick bodied also not evoke grace and speed as much. And girls meant be elegant fairytales+action game come to life

Yang might do with more track and fielder limbs as her thing is "might And POWER" and a boxer. But the conceit of aura helps and most have excellent athletic builds.
No one doubts noras power

4 and 5 were the massive pacing breakers for folks in terms of wait between installments?

I.

Missed that.

I'm just mentally picturing the sisters trying to clamber over each other to be the one to sacrifice themself XD

More seriously though it makes sense, much of Yang's life is defined by putting the needs of her family ahead of herself and Ruby's been taking more and more to Ozpin's advice that everything is on her and so will naturally put herself in harms way to accomplish a goal cos she thinks she's obliged to be the one to do so.

Also, Foreshadowing:

Really? It felt quite different to me; much jazzier. That's not a bad thing, since I think AUs should strive for a different feel from the main story and that's what this song seems to be implying.

Kinda makes me think of Persona.

I think it's different, in that it's not rock opera style, but it's very much in the same vein as the RWBY songs.

Some 'normal' RWBY stuff can get jazzy. Ignite, just off the top of my head.
