RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

Hmm...

One half of the Bee's swings, Neo Shatters away, only to reappear in the path of the second half's weapon and get hit?

Having her be outmaneuvered like that would make for a satisfying encounter, I admit. One thing I'm still not sure on is how that effect actually works. When Yang hit it, it was clearly an illusion while Neo and Roman were running, but Blake had the bitch by the arm BEFORE she knew there was an angry catgirl out for her head.

I honestly think "Overactive Imagination" works on a similar principle to "Shadows" with the main difference being what each girl can make.

I wonder if that means its possible to incorperate Dust into it?

Imagine, a Neo that explodes into shards, but each shard is also a Fire dust explosive.

Those first two are further proof in my mind that Kali was preparing adoption papers for if Willow didn't pull herself out of the bottle.

Nah you're not thinking in 3D Chess enough: Yang is training for when she'll marry Blake, thus officially making Kali her mother-in-law, Ruby being Yang's sister will also have Kali as in-law (only with an additional degree of separation). Now Weiss knows what she needs to do to also be part of the family.

This is correct, but in no way invalidates Kali making plans...

ya know
for as much as people complained about there barely being any Silver Eye content for most of the show up until V6
there has actually been at least something related to or hinting at the Eyes in each volume since episode 1
except for V2, which has nothing.

Methinks we would have gotten something if Raven didn't save Yang.

Wasn't the V2 opening with Ruby's Eyes being front and center(albeit for a few seconds) meant to be a hint that something was important about them?

More than likely. But IMO, they did need an in story mention or 2 in V2 and at least one more prior to the finale of V3. The significance of silver eyes wasn't very well foreshadowed.

Article:
The whole thing honestly makes me think about Utena and the deconstruction of the Fairytale Prince. Ozma like the Prince starts out as this seemingly-perfect ideal, and is slowly ground down by reality and tragedy. (Bonus for both involving a "Witch" that they love and failed in some way.) Though instead of the villainous Akio, we instead get Ozpin who is just…….tired, broken and bitter and so full of self-hatred and pain but unable to stop.

I now want a RWBY × Utena crossover, where Ruby plays a very confused Utena.

This is your fault.
