RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

ya know....in the recap video and talking about the Emerald/Mercury moment after covering the JNR at the memorial moment....it got me thinking, Emerald is actually a good fit for Jaune's group. Jaune, Ren, Nora, and Emerald have issues with who they are without their other half. Jaune knowing that it's thanks to Pyrrha that he is where he is and the grief he has felt for her loss, Ren and Nora after being connected at the hip for more than a decade at this point, and Emerald's attachment to Cinder after being taken off the streets and given a purpose.

Of course, given how the Happy Huntressess look to be in their mid-twenties, if Ironwood started up the pipeline even five years ago, the girls are just old enough to have graduated like in the other kingdoms.

if team CMEN do live to the end of the show, what do we think and what do we hope they will be up to?

Personally I hope they run together after working out at least SOME of their issues.
Yes Cinder is a toxic bitch, but one has to start somewhere if they want to be "better".
I've said before I want to see Neo, Mercury and Emerald start up their own criminal Empire, retake Roman's old antagonist role as the notorious criminals he was before Cinder. I'm now picturing a mob show where they start a war with the spiders, put Junior and the twins in a difficult position for which side they choose.

Leverage: Remnant Edition.

I wonder how Ruby's friends and allies are dealing with that message she sent out.

Tai is probably having a hard time not freaking out.
Ghira was contacting Ilia, so they might be rallying the faunus.
I would hope Sun and Neptune hurried back to Shade and got an Emergency Meeting of the Beacon Brigade goin with Team CFVY's help (just imagine how that meeting would go, especially if SUN is trying to lead the talk)
Glynda probably had to call an emergency meeting of her own to explain things.
For Cordovin and her troops.....dear god just imagine how that message that Atlas is both in danger AND that Ironwood can't be trusted hurts her and her men.

Not to mention how the civilians of Argus might react to being told "the face of Atlas and the guy Cordovin actively stands can't be trusted". Possible revolt?

Starscreams done that multiple times. It's just getting megs to stay dead that's the problem.

Also, idw starscream, as much as I hate him, actually grew as a person after ending up in charge.

Yeah usually because of Unicron reviving Megatron, upgrading him and making him his personal slave and errant boy if I recall.

Hmm would the IDW version of Starsceam be the comic version that pulled a gambit to finally unite both the autoboots and deceptions in peace by making everyone hate him because he knew he'd never be able to truly united both sides so found someone who could take over as leader?

I imagine Cordovin's already leading her command across the ocean in the mech.

Wait.....are you telling me Starscream....STARSCREAM.....pulled a Lelouch on the entire Transformer race?! o.o

anyway back to RWBY
Anyone else waiting to see how the ACEOPS, namely Harriet and Elm, react to Yang and the others getting back with Emerald in tow? Like, they saw Yang and the others as criminals before, but now they have one of Salem's followers with them! XD Oh this gonna be good.

Cordo - "It may only have 1 arm.....BUT THAT ARM IS ALL I WILL NEED TO DEFEND THE GLORY OF ATLAS!"

While I feel it may be too predictable, there could be a direction they can go with this.

Especially if they know how Clover was killed. They could twist the facts to create a story that Qrow actively teamed up with Tyrian with the full intent of killing Clover. Of course, Yang and co would be like "bullshit"...

And then Qrow kills Ironwood and they catch wind of that. That might be an interesting direction to take the "Qrow vs. Ironwood" story.

Given how this show plays things, I doubt Qrow will kill Ironwood.

Nah. After the war was over, he killed a popular civilian, blamed it on both sides, and suckered the ungrateful citizens into kicking the Autobots out. However, while he was more than happy to pull shady shit during his time in charge, he recognised that his position lived and died on the public opinion of him... And after a while, he realised that good feels good. He never became a Saint, but he was decent at his job. And after Windblade got evidence of his crimes, he decided that it was better for Cybertron if he confessed to it, during an election debate, rather than drag the planet into a messy legal quagmire.
