RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

Obviously, the show is trying to convey the idea that blue is secretly the evilest colour. It is the only logical explanation!
Meanwhile gen:LOCK is very clear about red being the evil color, and it has a lot of heroic blue. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!

The new season of Red vs Blue is looking great!

More seriously though I think we'll see more blue now that we're in Atlas.

Funny enough, having listened to the commentary, a scene in V5 was meant to purposefully color the entire area as red to convey a sense of danger... even though the scene in question takes place right after Weiss crashes the plane (with one survivor) without a hint of red and the entire cast of RWBY sit on red chairs for the majority of the Volume without any threat placed on them outside of "come to 123 Not-A-Trap Street".

Doubtful. The robots and goons have all been white and gray. If they do show new troops, they'll probably be red or black.
Well no, because those were the old goons and robots that they replaced.

So perhaps they could combine the color schemes. A black body, white armor, red marks, yellow eyes.

And Ironwood fails to see the irony in making his guardians look like the very monsters he fights against and a very fitting transformation following their hacking.

Wild guess.

Ironwood has the sense to secure Atlas weapons against a second hacking.

Unfortunately the contract to do so was outsourced to Jacques Schnee.

The commentaries do stuff like that. It's both hilarious and sad at the same. Hilarisad? Sadlarious?

Hell, at one point, some of the guys leave the room during the commentary and remaining people just decided to shoot the shit.

Also that slip up about how Ghira's based off Obama's speech about Osama's death because Obama knows how to deliver bad news.

which scene?

(I know they had guards with other colors, but the blue ones were the most common)

There are only so many variations of gray and white that you can use, and Blue works a lot better for maintaining the Snow/Ice/North theme that Atlas has than Red or Black does. Case in point, Weiss' new outfit.

Dark idea.

As soon as the gang get to Atlas, they hear word of Argus being unable to repel the Grimm attack.

Plus it was what, thirty Griffons while the people were cheering? I don't see it being that hard to repel.
While you have a point with the CCT tower being down, remember that a gatling gun that could shred a Deathstalker and cleave a Nevermore in two can't even dent the flank of a Griffon.

...

Also, weren't they Sphinxes?

Point on the Sphinxes though as we saw on the train they seem even less durable than Griffons.

A) Manticores not Sphinxes, the Sphinx was the big one Qrow and Ruby killed, B) What a stupid fucking idea.

Mostly just trivia, though I've also seen people insisting Gen:LOCK is stealing RWBY's budget and focus so this seems kinda relevant I guess?
It does give a good ballpark estimate of RT Animation's production capability. They're technically capable of a feature length film twice or thrice a year, evidently.
