RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

I've read/been told that there's a quote saying that due to Summer's death Yang stepped up and played a role in helping raise Ruby; I thought it was, or it used to be, on the wiki but I cannot find it anymore.

Is there actually such a statement and if so can someone link me to it?

I'm hoping there's a moment where Yang punches something so hard that the clothing on her arm gets shredded/shockwaved off and we have a moment of everyone admiring the perfection of steel.

There isn't, it's just fanon due to Yang's behavior with Ruby (including Ruby saying that Yang used to read stories to her) after learning about their backstory in "Burning the Candle." Very good fanon that makes a lot of sense, but still fanon.

I'll note that both Ruby and Yang are comfortable with Ruby having authority over Yang as the team leader. If Ruby saw Yang as a motherly figure instead of a big sister, that would probably be more awkward.

I see, thanks for the info, huh I was sure there was a quote but I guess not :/

The sentiment driving this is laudable, but it would make me double-take if I was walking down the street.

Fight the close-minded bigotry of Trump with this t-shirt depicting two white women, one of whom is in fact a catgirl!

Blake's backstory makes her someone fighting for race rights, but to someone who doesn't know that (i.e. almost everyone) the characters and the slogan means it looks more like a gay rights t-shirt. Does this person, I would ask myself, think it's high time we fought the shocking injustice of a nation in which a fictional catgirl and her voice actress can't be together? Dear god, I would think. That's the most narcissistic variety of waifu-ing I've ever seen.

Anyway, isn't the thing about RWBY that they've built a wall to stop Grimm migrants?

If you don't know Blake's backstory, you'tr definitely not gonna recognize her VA

I think if you knew nothing about RWBY you'd assume it was from some show about lesbians. Which still works with the message, so whatever.

Prepare for Achievement Hunter dubbing an episode of RWBY. For those who don't know, this happened this week.

If enough people sign up for FIRST membership, various things happen. Today, this happened.

Do we have any clues as to which episode it's going to be?
