RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

If you will be in New York City for the Let's Play Live there, why not stay an extra day and go to Comic Con? You'd be able to catch a glimpse of Vol. 4.
Location: Main Stage 1-D Presented by AT&T

Rooster Teeth's globally acclaimed, award-winning animated series RWBY is back at NYCC. Join the cast and crew of RWBY, including Director/Co-Writer Kerry Shawcross, Co-Director/Co-Writer Miles Luna, Co-Director/Supervising Producer Gray Haddock, voice of "Ruby Rose" Lindsay Jones and voice of "Yang Xiao Long" Barbara Dunkelman for an exclusive first look at RWBY: VOLUME 4. The team will also share exciting RWBY news, hilarious behind-the-scenes stories, take Q&A from the audience and more!

"What up people dudes? I got the Kittenkiller 9000 up and ready to..."

That line killed me.
I wasn't even sure that was actually Yuri until I saw the credits. I thought he would be too busy with other stuff and/or way too expensive for a couple of lines here and there. Though Merc's hair as a Chibi is reminiscent of Sasuke...

Anyway, Yuri is a big name VA. I honestly did not know if he could take the time to do Mercury for Chibi.

Well, he's voicing one of the main characters in another RoosterTeeth show (Camp Camp), so he's been back to the studio post-V3 anyway. It might have just been a "hey, while you're here" thing, like Travis Willingham and Laura Bailey getting minor parts in V3. (For the same reason, I wouldn't be too surprised to see Winter show up in Chibi if they come up with a good skit for her.)

Seriously? RT is able to keep these big name actors for multiple projects? Impressive.

Money is money after all, and even big name voice actors likely aren't all that expensive. Voiceover is not a super profitable profession unless you're already a well-established celebrity in another field.

For those interested, Volume 3 is going to be getting theatrical showings on Wednesday, October 19th. See here for locations and to order tickets. (You can't buy tickets at the door for this.)

There's likely to be some bonus content in addition to the main event. At the showings of V1 and V2, they've shown shorts from Chibi well before they were released.

[Discussion] Chibi Season 1, Episode 20
RWBY Chibi:
Everyone just loves to vent their problems, shadow Blake is a good projected therapist at least, poor Blake is so confused though XD

Also that Zwei chasing Cinder hahaha!

Oh my gosh Ruby's Zwei and Cinder's Beowolf almost fought, they were like 100% embarrassed pet owners!

Roman's scene change is awesome.

He shot me in the face!

Don't tease Zwei!

He's so overacting, its insane, I love it, also he broke the fourth wall, or Neo did, she is communicating with us!

Zwei killed Roman and Neo!

Well he burnt them anyway, Neo has no fucks left to give, but is still best minion.

Edit: also Neo has her own sound effects, I love it!

I just watched RWBY Seasons 2 and 3 on Sunday (yeah, I'm a slowpoke) and my reaction by the end of Season two was 'wow, Season Three must be full of glorious High Adventure indeed'.

Several hours later, I was wondering who'd invited Tzeentch along to the party. Also, laughing my ass off of course (except for Yang and Pyrrha, who just prove that being amazingly badass doesn't mean you're immune to stupidity. Seriously, facepalming at mini-Magneto's demise. Facepalming so hard), especially since it's pretty much set up for a heartwarming moment in the near future.

...Just so you know, your Sig fits with what you were saying far to well.

I still maintain that Pyrrha's death was a victory, just one with a very self-sacrificing win condition.

I've been told that before :p. But yeah, season three gave me the same vibes 'The Empire Strikes Back' did back in the day. Hell, it shares a lot of the same conventions as well (except for the 'I am your Father' bit, which will probably be pulled by that Salem Chaos daemonette wannabe-or Cinder herself- later on) and I cannot help but find myself primed for the grand old heartwarming reunion happening-probably followed by a named character dying not ten minutes later, but hey.

Also, Penny will be back. With upgrades. I am betting on that happening.

ED: Pyrrha kinda... dissolved back there. What was up with that? Is she actually dead-dead or did someone basically disappear her? Never say 'yeah they're as dead as a rusty door nail that's just been thrown into an active lava pit' until you see the body and all that... which we don't, really. Sure, she's badly (mortally?) wounded and had a Doom Arrow sticking out of her bosom, but she didn't really kick the bucket before turning into motes of light, so I am wondering.

Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust... Basically she was rapidly creamated.

A Pyrrhic victory then? Her name literally means "Victory through fire" in Greek or more accurately "Victory at a great cost."

There was a lot less screaming and things continuing to burn after the fleshy bits have been vaporised than I would expect with rapid cremation... But I guess it's probably something Aura-related if that is the case.

I think she'll make a comeback though. I mean, this is RWBY-Magneto. She'll find a way.

ED: Also, Golden Eyes, Twin Swords, Reinforcement and a Bow of Awesome... Is Cinder Shirou Emiya's Evil Twin?
