Hey everyone that thinks we should do 4SOP before RRBs? You know how our clanmates are angry about our alleged hoarding of secrets? Well giving them RRBs would be a great way to shut them up. It's a genuinely amazing seal and it's a Goketsu Clan exclusive.

Looks like we still haven't shared Banshee Fuckers or Chakrascope
Chakrascope is useless to them, and Banshee Fuckers are literally irreplaceable since we can't make them.

IMO we'll share Banshee Fuckers when we eventually research the seal.

This is good evidence of us keeping something back, thanks. Idk if it would have made a difference during the war, but it might.

Could we please get these seals moved/added to the "List of seals Hazō can make" section of the known seals document? Also Skywalkers, but I can't find the quote for when that happened.

That document also shows Hazō as knowing Rocket Boots, which I'm fairly sure we don't actually know yet.

Edit:
Found these too.

Discord, but Paper mentioned that Yuno and Akane brought home a handful of seals from that one Cloud MW lightning user that Hazō got a look at (and maybe keep as research material?).
Bumping this 😎

FWIW, I don't think the chakrascope existed until after the war, either. And I don't think we can make the Banshee Fuckers yet?

I'd be okay with that.

What they're really upset about is that out of the 5 summoning scrolls we acquired none of them went to anyone in the outer Goketsu circles. They want their priceless magic artifacts and they want them now!

[] Action Plan: Respect
  • Discuss with Mari, Ino, Noburi, Kei, and Snowflake (MINKS).
  • Meet with aggrieved Goketsu, either individually or in a group as MINKS recommend.
    • Goals, in order. Follow the general structure
      • Understand their issues and the drivers (logical and emotional) for these issues.
      • Understand their desired outcomes and the reasons (logical and emotional) they want these things.
      • Work collaboratively towards a mutually-acceptable solution.
    • Meta-goal: demonstrate that you respect them and want to work with them, not just boss them around.
  • Tone/approach:
    • Hazo Classic: open, honest, earnest.
    • Let them lead. Be consultative. Listen. Focus on understanding problems and root causes before proposing solutions.
    • If Hazo gets frustrated, ask for a minute before reacting/responding.
    • There are systemic issues here (clan vs. clanless vs. KEI) that are related but beyond your scope to entirely fix. If things drift, acknowledge the problems and re-focus on the issue at hand.
  • Open with:
    • Demanding that they hand over their jutsu without talking to them first was a bad move.
    • You're new at being a clan head. You make mistakes; that was one of them.
    • You're sorry.
  • You want to have a positive relationship with all the Goketsu - not just the ones you lived in the woods with. To that end, you want to navigate this with them.
    • Explain, in broad terms, what Goketsu tricks/techniques they do/don't have access to, and why.
      • You need to re-assess sharing MARS (explain what it is) because it might have leaked with Akane's death. But beyond that? What they have is what everyone has.
      • You're leaving a few things out that you can't share because of national security/Asuma's orders.
    • Tiered access is normal for clans, but you don't want Goketsu to be normal - you want to do better than that.
      • You think clan secrets are a little stupid. The Contest proved it - clans hoard knowledge. Why?
      • What do they want? What issues do they see? Do they have ideas? You need policy for this.
        • This is an opportunity for them to have a pretty big impact - other clans listen to Goketsu, and if they can come up with something that works, it'll likely set precedent for other clans.
  • Hazo's suggestions:
    • Donate Goketsu jutsu/seals to the KEI one-for-one.
    • They set fixed prerequisites for teaching their techniques to other Goketsu (e.g., intermediate proficiency with the element, focus on hand-to-hand).

We need to chessmaster things so that we actually have research time to do anything first :V

I am fine with shuffling around the priority queue to get more total uninterrupted research time since we need to be hacking away at Project Necro before Sasori blows the gates to hell open and rips Nagato-2018 out of the afterlife or something.

Assuming everything goes as planned in this upcoming chapter, here's a plan?

[ ] Action Plan: Trade Deals, Seals, and Reaching for the Heavens
Words: <300
  • Ino and the sale of Hazou's personal Goo Bomb seals
    • Internally:
      • Put on "Goketsu Clan Head" Hat.
      • The Yamanaka Clan Head wants a commission that eats into our best sealmaster's valuable time. Luckily, it's prosocial in intent, and our clans are allied. Allowances can be made where they might not otherwise be.
      • Trade in (and assume) good faith.
    • Initial Proposal (sanity checked by Mari)
      • Opsec Precautions:
        • The Yamanaka Clan promises not to sell them, reverse engineer them, etc.
      • Supply is for genin-use only
        • Each genin gets three seals, resupplied upon returning from missions
        • (be willing to negotiate up to an in-character reasonable amount, given Hazou's time constraints)
      • One Year Duration, revisiting the trade deal afterwards.
      • Goketsu Hazou will work to provide a backstock within the Goketsu Clan so that, should he be unavailable to resupply a Yamanaka genin, they're not inconvenienced.
      • We don't really need cash, so... what're the Yamanaka Clan offering?
    • Let Hazou-pilot and Ino take it from there.
  • Noburi
    • Now that the Hospital has slowed down, would you be willing to take a couple of weeks off to read the medical lootboxes?
    • Your medicals impressed Tsunade, and now it's time to blow her expectations out of the water. When we see her next, she'll be begging to take you on as an apprentice!
    • Also, ask Noburi...
      • To test if sealing an object sterilizes it (spirits are questionably alive)
      • Whether Arachnid Silk bandages would be an improvement for the hospital?
        • If so, donate a lot. We have ES50 and can afford to take a temporary hit on Arachnid Silk Trade.
    • Sealing
      • Finish Minato Seal 7, continue to Minato Seal 8
      • Rocket Boots

I'm unsure why we're just offering this to the genin. At the very least, can we meet sure Ino is kitted out, via an exclusivity (snrk) deal because of partner? (Or if that's happened, can someone point me towards it.)

Can we ask him to look into tenketsu opening? Float the idea of using FGP participants/foreign captures?

I realize this is possibly not a popular idea, but I figured I'd ask.
Sealing
  • Finish Minato Seal 7, continue to Minato Seal 8
  • Rocket Boots
Can you specify SC to work on MS7/8 and Prime to work on Rocket Boots? For the Callig boost.

Also to use Hazou's intuition for prep, since our SOP has him doing full prep on jounin seals, which is ludicrous overkill for RB

After you reminded me about them, I thought back to how you used them during the Chūnin Exams. I think they could help keep Yamanaka genin alive. Just one of those bombs could stop an attacking chakra beast or instantly end a fight with an enemy genin. I know it would be a lot of work on your end, but I figured that I needed to try if it had a chance of saving Yamanaka lives. Oh, and don't worry about the Tower trying to buy out the whole supply without giving us any. I'll convince Asuma-sensei to let you trade with me without those bureaucrats playing middleman."
She asked for them for her genin

I probably should have clarified that what I wrote was a get-it-out-of-my-brain as much as opposed to a finished thought.

I think that there are areas where Hazo sucks at being a clan head (e.g., treating people beyond Noburi, Mari, Kei, Kagome, Akane like they're full people with agency) and that owning those is probably a pretty good idea. I think that a lot of their beef with Hazo comes from those areas, as that's where they've overlapped with him the most.

Hazou has kept the Goketsu as a major Clan of Leaf instead of being relegated to minor status largely by being good at his job. We lost our founder after less than a year and have kept ourselves in the game. That's not bad work for a rank amateur.

Hazou has his failings yeah, but it's not like Noburi would have done a better job.

  • Open with:
    • You are bad at being a clan head. This is not an excuse: it's a largely-objective fact.
    • There are a few reasons this is the case. You lack inexperience working with people beyond the first Goketsu, any training, an understanding of Leaf's culture, etc.
    • There are also reasons entirely within your control. You haven't treated these people like they're your family in the same way that Noburi and Mari are. You're sorry. That was wrong. You want to do better.
  • To that end, you want to navigate the KEI jutsu issue with them.

Man, this plan is fine practically, but it's unbearably self-flagellating. Can we have something more upbeat instead? Here...

[⚔️] Action Plan: MOM, I'M BUSY
  • Find Mari
  • Tell her to appoint someone as head of Fixing This Shit
  • Make sure she tells them he's busy saving the world AGAIN
  • They have whatever powers they want as long as they always ask him for approval
  • He'll either reject, approve, or delegate the decision
  • Then go do other stuff that's more fun
