Violation of Rules 3 & 4: This is uncivil and disruptive.
$20 says that everyone who is complaining about not being able to dehumanize women anymore is the kind of person who freaks out when there are black soldiers in Battlefield

Why is it the tower? That's our job to answer.
Orochimaru went missing and I'd imagine the Tower would confiscate his assets by default, since they're the dictatorship and he's one of their former soldiers? Same with the Shimura estate, the clan died so the property became the state's to sell.

I don't know how it works IRL but I'd imagined this is how it works?

On the to-do list:

1) Confirm Hagoromo deal (do we take ISC's offer or not?)
2) Flip the Amori
3) Try to flip the Aburame or convince them to abstain
4) Convince Tsunade that we're a better option for her plans

We are not talking about the tower owning the land. We are talking about who provided the loan to purchase the land.

Is there a reason this also didn't come from the tower? I'm not sure they have like, a super well developed idea of mortgages in this time period beyond "Creditor gets the title of the property until the debt is paid off, but the debtor can still sell the property to recover part or all of the debt". I'm not sure its a modern mortgage. It also would be simpler IMO if it all just went through the Tower.

I mean, Velorien expressed a desire to write it, and none of us seem to be in a state to write full-scale plans...

I am so down for this.

I'll probably make a updated version of the previously winning plan later, but...I dunno. I kinda want ISC to get involved in the Hagoromo deal, but based on the Discord conversation that's a pretty contentious topic. I dunno.

Let's go with that. How about:

The creditor of Orochimaru's estate is the tower, who sold the estate to Jiraiya to recover part or all the debt.

I would like to very publicly and very loudly thank @EmpressSquishette and @Orm Embar for stepping on @Sigmuldom and @Threnodist 's toxic comments. We really did not need that kind of pot-stirring right now, and y'all were right on top of it.

I'm sure that, like all authority figures, you don't often get thanked for doing your enforcement duties, so I wanted to make sure that it at least happened this time.

A thought just occured to me: there are 2 dying founding clans that probably do little to no missions. Hence, Tower receives all of their conditional payments. Each month. For years.

The Tower should be stinking rich atm.
I think it's more likely that they found something to spend it on, than that they put it away for a rainy day.
I'm confused now. The mods decided the deal was fine per SV rules, and nevertheless mod intervention led to the decision to nuke the deal? I don't see how a leads to b.
The deal may have been fine, but it was causing some thread participants to act in not-fine ways.

How many hours (and what other things) did we get as part of Keiko's bride price?
Yes, but not a monetary one. At the time, money wasn't an issue, so Jiraiya focused on a deal aimed at cementing the clans together. They owe you votes, hours, etc. Details are TBD, and suggestions are welcome.
Details unknown, but I would imagine they would be willing to make favorable trade deals, offer training for jutsu, seals, and other ninja-related activities, as well as other favors that utilize their political or socioeconomic strength.
Shikaku died before the wedding, so are a large portion of the hours worthless (because they would have been his)? Or would they be hours from "The Nara head," so as to prevent problems like this from arising?
IIRC we got the dowry once the marriage went through. I'd imagine your latter suggestion is the correct one. The Nara wouldn't screw someone over so blatantly (and stupidly).
How much money Naruto has and incoming revenue/expense?
Right now he has whatever Jiraiya and his ancestors left him, which is a massive HDK. I don't think he has much revenue coming in beyond whatever monthly payments exist, since he's recovering.
How much money are we getting From Kenta's business?
Not a lot, IMO. The family probably survived at just above subsistence level.

They probably don't have anything in mind.
Hm. Then making a guess...I would imagine that the Uzumaki of Leaf came to be after their homelands got bopped, so they were probably super poor and didn't make much money. Minato becoming Hokage and marrying Kushina might've changed things a bit, but he's dead now so that didn't last for long. Naruto probably burned that to grow up.

As for Jiraiya...how much would he have made, as the #2 of the sitting dictator?

Minato is a jonin, and his wife is an S-ranker herself. They are probably at least 20 years or older when Naruto was born.
