RWBY Thread III: Time To Say Goodbye

Stop: So gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
so gotta few things that need to be said real quick.
We get a lot of reports from this thread. A lot of it is just a series of people yelling at each other over arguments that have been rehashed hundreds of times since the end of the recent Volume. And I get that the last Volume - and RWBY in general, really - has some controversial moments that people will want to discuss, argue about, debate, etc.

That's fine. We're not going to stop people from doing that, because that's literally what the point of the thread is. However, there's just a point where it gets to be a bit too much, and arguments about whether or not Ironwood was morally justified in his actions in the recent Volume, or if RWBY and her team were in the right for withholding information from Ironwood out of distrust, or whatever flavor of argument of the day descend into insulting other posters, expressing a demeaning attitude towards other's opinions, and just being overall unpleasant. That tends to happen a lot in this thread. We want it to stop happening in this thread.

So! As of now the thread is in a higher state of moderation. What that means is that any future infractions will result in a weeklong boot from the thread, and repeated offenders will likely be permanently removed. So please, everyone endeavor to actually respect the other's arguments, and even if you strongly disagree with them please stay civil and mindful when it comes to responding to others.

In addition, users should refrain from talking about off-site users in the thread. Bear in mind that this does not mean that you cannot continue to post tumblr posts, for example, that add onto the discussion in the thread, with the caveat that it's related to RWBY of course. But any objections to offsite users in the thread should be handled via PM, or they'll be treated as thread violations and infracted as such.

WE ARE SO BACK!

Its neat this is it VIZ, as there is definitely a history there then and to see Viz deciding to start moving into producing their own stuff is intriguing!.

Based on the reaction from some of the other writers and what Kerry said his goals were when negotiating for RWBY, I think its extremely likely they'll want to keep the pre-existing staff and team as much as possible. It wouldn't make sense to buy an already partially finished series then radically change up the team, because all that experience in making even the most simple parts of it would be lost.

Also a great post on the topic:

I'm still mad about Penny and the handling of Ruby in Volume 9 but I'm glad the show is continuing. I'll see how things play out when the next volume rolls around.

I mean, didn't Kerry or Eddy already say in a previous video that CRWBY were being kept on board?

Either way
I do not expect V10 until at least 2025-26
RWBY has a new home, but that just means that have to unpack still and organize everything before they can go full into production
My personal thought is we'll see a trailer for Volume 10 around this time next year with the actual volume airing probably late 2025, depending on how far along things are and such. But we're almost certainly going to see some Manga, either more adaptations of the show or side-canon stuff like Queendom before then.

Personally, I'm hoping for a few more RWBY Beyonds over the coming months, small clips to keep interest up, expand the story with stuff that can't be fit into the show proper, etc.

What are everyone's hopes for tie-in/expanded universe material now that RWBY is under Viz's umbrella? Personally I'm hoping for more stuff in the vain of Ice Queendom, side stories that greatly expand the world that are also self contained adventures. It's a bit of a stretch but I'm also hoping for a crossover with My Hero Academia.

Oh people mentioned the DC crossover, that is uncertain but it is worth pointing out that Viz has collaborated with Marvel, meaning that crossovers aren't beyond the possibility.
