I understand that some of the players assert that the intent was only "we'll have the Hokage voted out" and not "we'll have the Hokage killed" but even my most charitable reading cannot agree with that.

I'm not sure why we'd ever want to do that. Just look at all the progress made under his reign towards our goals! He was a great Hokage!

We'll miss you Hiashi :(

Don't recall if I posted these already or not.

Reflecting Air Dome Seal:

Like an Air Dome, but it absorbs and stores a predetermined amount of kinetic energy from any physical assaults. After the amount reaches the threshold, the Air Dome violently explodes outwards, damaging everything in the same zone that wasn't inside when it blew.

Funhouse Mirror Seal:

Originally a present to Minato for his thirteenth birthday, this hexagonal six element sealing array warps spacetime in a small area at the center to produce a slight bending effect. One notices that kunai and other items thrown directly into the effect come out slightly off-target, but the precise and static positioning requirements of the seal elements combined with the miniscule nature of the effect render this functionally useless in live combat scenarios.

It sure looks funny though.

Immediate thought: Can we overload it from the inside?

Hey, would it be possible to learn some of the techniques that are in Jiraiya's notes? I mean, the hair one seems to be a "neutral" chakra type, so that means that (theoretically) anyone can learn it, right? Like Leaf's academy three and the Shadow Clone Jutsu --the trick with the latter being that it's prohibitively and dangerously expensive, in terms of chakra cost.

We could add it to Hazou's pile of resources. I mean, sheer jutsu-wise, I think that he only has MEW and whatever fuuinjutsu he can prep beforehand. And Hazou keeps a few hundred seals on him at any given time, but I'd still recommend that he learn a technique or two, just in case something wild happens that destroys his seals --like a particularly creative water jutsu, or extremely shit weather. If nothing else, it'd be a nice tool to put in Hazou's belt.

Note: Not necessarily proposing that Hazou learn the hair one specifically, just that he pick up one or two aces from the deck Jiraiya cared enough to leave behind.

Isn't Yomi Numa a Dotonjutsu?
English, please. We don't use no stinkin' Japanese round here.[1]

[1] Except for non-perfectly-translatable words like 'sensei', or the first N chapters where I persistently used Japanese like 'kawarimi' because it's cooler, and when I forget and right 'Foo no Jutsu' instead of 'Foo Technique' and stuff like that because my brain is cheese.

HANS, NOAH, KEIRA et al: Yes, QM-sensei.

He does also know living roots, hiding like a mole, substitution, pangolin training just, Pankrator's hammer, and maybe something else? What am I forgetting, it starts with an H and is super useful? I'm sure it'll come to me.

Anyway, he's got a few Jutsu, though that's not a reason to not look at good finds in the pile.

Earth Style: Swamp of the Underworld. Better?

No. What we should do instead of learning them is give them to Naruto. They're his by Jiraiya's will. We can then ask Naruto if we can learn them.

This is an excellent opportunity to get Naruto's goodwill.

@eaglejarl, @Velorien, @OliWhail, regarding the jutsu notes Kagome's uncovering:

Given that Jiraiya specified that he left his jutsu scrolls to Naruto, does Hazou/Mari/the-rest-of-the-clan think Jiraiya intentionally included these jutsu notes in the stuff he gave to us? I wouldn't want to start hoarding them only to find out that we've just royally ticked off Naruto by not giving him the jutsus rightfully willed to him.

Along these lines, do any of them specify if they're only for us, or to be a shared secret with Naruto? If so, we should coordinate to Naruto to make sure we don't leak his secrets during the competition.

How about we give Naruto a copy of the techniques once we're done deciphering it? Or offer him unfettered access to them, if J-man didn't leave Naruto his own copy? Running the idea by the clan first, of course.

Or maybe we could talk to Naruto and see if he's even interested in them? I mean, he was tutored under a lot of jonin (his godfather included), so on one hand, Naruto might already know them or have tried to learn them before deciding it wasn't suited for him. On the other hand... nostalgia.

I'd say that once we finish deciphering the notes, we at least invite Naruto to dinner to talk about it. He might want the smutty book drafts/notes as a momento of his Pervy Sage, if nothing else.

(On mobile while at a campus event, sorry for whatever grammar/structural issues exist)

The reason we're giving them to Naruto is because Jiraiya's will stipulated that all his jutsu were to be given to Naruto. And we have them somehow.

I do not think Naruto will be willing to give us the benefit of the doubt if we give him copies of the techniques that are his by right to give away or hold on to, let along give him access to the jutsu.

No Jiraiya's will stipulated that Naruto got his jutsu scrolls. Not all his jutsu
His ninjutsu scrolls go to Naruto

On the other hand, how will he know that we haven't written down copies? How does he know that he holds the only copy in existence? He considers us to be somewhere around crazy and untrustworthy, and my gut instinct is that in the absence of evidence he'd simply default to assuming that we have a copy.

Yes, and because he's dead the only way people can get said jutsu is through scrolls.

I mean, Kagome's decoding the jutsu which in all likelihood means that they're jutsu scrolls instead of some convoluted other means of getting the jutsu like by talking to some ninja trainer who happens to know how to teach Jiraiya's technique despite it being, well, Jiraiya's technique.

He can ask Kagome.

I agree. If Naruto thinks he has a right to the ninjutsu in the notes as well, he can tell us himself. He already knows we have the notes, and he read the same will we did.

Edit: I'd assume the scrolls aren't in code. Scrolls are for instructional use, and no one can use the scrolls if they're encoded.

"Sir, I gave you all the intelligence-related elements of the notes that we found so far, but there's a lot more of it and it's all mixed together with stuff that should be Gōketsu property."

"Such as?"

Kagome-sensei started counting on his fingers. "Jiraiya-stinker's Lightning Lash technique, Swamp of the Underworld, love letters, the start of three separate romance novels built off those love letters, a bunch of blackmail stuff on people here in—Yow!" He glared at Hazō, whose grip on his arm had gotten tight enough to grind the bones together.
It's heavily implied that they are, otherwise they wouldn't be mixed in with the coded spy notes and related stuff.

It's implied that there are copies of his jutsu notes in with everything else. But Jutsu scroll implies that there where Uncoded fully polished examples that got left to Naruto. Naruto read the will and got the scrolls that Jiraiya wanted him to have
