The most important thing in the medium-term (not necessarily for Hazou himself to do) is finding Naruto. Naruto's reserves are so massive that he immediately accelerates anything we want even more than shadow clones would. Also, anyone who knows who Itachi is should assume that the next time we see Naruto it will be on the opposite site of a battlefield, and we should plan for that eventuality. Namely, we need to work on the KAOS suit.

I think it's likely that there are two reasons it's difficult to get. 1. It requires massive reserves - not something we can fix. 2. It involves some amount of will, justified self-confidence, compartmentalization, etc. - barring some confirmation that's it mostly 1, it's worth it to at least distinguish the proper psychological mix.
 
Itachi massacred the Uchiha as part of an acausal trade with every other Itachi, so that the modal Itachi is less likely to be in someone's Tsukiyomi dream.

Eh, if they had great brainwashing and weren't shy about using it, wouldn't they put themselves in charge, or at least ensure that their pet puppets always did whatever was good for the Yamanaka? I'm not really getting that vibe.

Again: how do you know they haven't? They could just be running things from behind the scenes while using said brainwashing to ensure nobody notices anything amiss.

It's possible, but that would require more than just brainwashing the people in charge. You'd have to brainwash practically everyone. That calls for something they can do with trivial effort or to mass populations, which seems contrary to what we've seen about techniques.

At one point I saw a similar counter and noticing that the rate of death was freakishly in sync with my own heartbeat. If I recall rightly, I just started sobbing.

I wonder if Jiraiya has a bunch of little Jiraiya-lets out there...

We probably have a few hundred half siblings. We should go around looking for any kids ~20 years of age with white hair or strange markings on their cheeks.

Well, we haven't had much opportunity to see that as we have for, say, Keiko's fear of touch.

e: Yes, Keiko in my head, I know that it's not a fear of touch but a well-reasoned disregard for loss of control. No, Keiko in my head, I don't think it's weird that I have a simulation of you in there.

bluntly, this is why I think the soul-hug is not going to go well; Keiko's fundamental issue is loss of control, and haptophobia is just and extension of that, even if ill-reasoned
