This reminds me, thanks for all the math regarding score totals you and other did(as well as working on the plan)! Amazing looking through it while catching up and trying to grok it all. This is the best playerbase :) and much love for the qms rising to the occasion behind the scenes!
Disclaimer:

The actual math is mostly correct.

I no longer believe the conclusions are airtight due to possibly faulty assumptions

Tl;dr NOT PARANOID ENOUGH! Etc etc

@eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail Kinda-sorta spoons-intensive request, but could we have an update regarding our character sheets? Specifically:
Thanks for this, it really helps. Please keep nudging us when we fall behind.

We'll see about getting this done; I don't know if the others have time but I can probably do it tonight.

Especially since it would be expensive and does not give us any resources.
Au contraire! The first step in launching transphobes into the sun en mass would be heavy investment into space development. In my opinion, this is the single best thing we could be putting money into right now. NASA's ROI has been somewhere between 3:1 and 14:1, depending on whose numbers you use, so it's a brilliant move economically. More generally, space based solar power would solve the world's energy problems in a non-climate-change-causing way, and asteroid + comet mining would provide more physical resources (especially water) than we know what to do with.(1)

Now, solar murder of morally repugnant people is not the best reason to invest in space development, but I'll take what I can get.

(1) Desalinization would be a better solution to water crises than comet mining, but might not be practical in all areas.

In canon, Lee had these RIDICULOUSLY heavy training weights on his legs(I can only presume sealing or chakra magic is involved).

IC: Does Hazou know if people do such a thing (unreasonably heavy or not)?

OOC: I dont think the leap of "wear heavy stuff to naturally improve Physique/Athletics a bit more than usual " is so large. Would you permit us to jerry rig something of the sort if ts not available? I can suggest mechanics if it makes it easier.

There actually are hydrocarbons in space, in the atmosphere of some gas giants and in C-type asteroids, but nothing that would really count as coal.

(me)

=> (the joke)

In the real world or in Marked for Death? Because you could totally decree that there is coal floating out in space. Just another incentive for rocket ninja science

What's wrong with weight lifting days?

So this literally just popped up in my YT feed:

Yes, yes, I know. The world of Naruto is not real life. Or so I heard.

Wrist and ankle weights weren't really the weights I had in mind (as the video points out, this is STUPIDLY BAD for your joints.)

However, you CAN wear weighted vests.

As the above mentions, "leg strength increases by about 30% and running/sprinting speed increases by about 11%" relatively speaking if you do this for a couple weeks and use about ~20% of your body weight.

So, it seems fair this would help a bit with Athletics/Physique XP gain.

My thoughts on balancing:

Unlike the Pangolin Conditioning Jutsu, it is utter idiocy to actually be wearing weights like that out in the field. I expect someone of your relative unweighted strength to be able to beat you out by like ~10 points on an athletics/physique/taijutsu roll or something.

Proposal: The above incurs a -2x(Aspect Bonus) to the wearer on all rolls related to physical stuff. Heck, make it -3x(Aspect Bonus) even.

Utility: That makes this utterly worthless to do in the field. It's only useful training wise if you have a big chunk of downtime (like we have). Sure, using it on and off for a few days might give you marginal gains, but really that shouldn't be a significant increase. It would help us training for the exam though.

There's no point in wearing silly weighted clothing anyway. Just do normal strength training.
The IRL study I posted above disagrees with you. Doing outrageous Dragonball Z shit or stuff like Rock Lee does in canon is just going to hurt you, but you can wear weighted vests just fine.

(I use this myself for distance running ocassionally. You'd be surprised how excruciatingly difficult it is running a few miles with an extra ~20 pounds on your back. It makes me wonder how my 5k time would look if I lost a couple dozen pounds.)

Remember that Kagome already knows how to make multiple explosive activation vests. He used one to pulp a bunch of mountain ninja. He didn't even need to use his hands since they were over his head to avoid being blown off by the 360x30 cone.
