@MMKII really like your idea for being able to break action economy. A seal that would be really useful for us to research to add to it would be an airdrome that requires 1 seal that has a predefined radius. That way Noburi could drop Mistarators and instantly be under protection
I think the problem with that (implicitly) is that you'd have to do a whole lot of specification for where and how the dome pops up (how the magic construct is created, for example).

You could have the seal at the center I suppose, but then we get into the question of "How hard is it to do that? Have the seal not touch the construct it creates?"

And stuff like that.

Instead of doing a one seal version, what we could do thats less headache inducing is something like "Smarter Air Domes", where you can throw two kunai with the Air dome elements attached and as long as they're in the seal's radius they do the thing. Something like that, maybe.

I dunno

So our training regime will consists of blindfold fighting and weighted vest?
It depends on how the QM's feel about the weighted vest thing.

(We're doing alertness training with Mari or someone else willing to do it. I don't think thats up for negotiating, @MadScientist will lead a revolt).

Basically I'm thinking of interesting ways we can shove in as much XP as we possibly can. I haven't gotten to any Ami training ideas yet because thats really exhausting to think of.

I did have one idea though! Hiding like a Mole is a one minute duration. This is enough for ~6 Round of combat. Likewise for Living Roots.

I propose:

Strategy:Fighting like a Mole! (HLaM, Living Roots)

Hazou uses some reverse whack-a-mole tactics to continuously pop in and out of the earth, attacking the enemy in random places and then diving back in with his supplementary.

He can practice this with Pankurashun or someone else good at underground combat. See how it does sparring-wise. This should be pretty good against non-ranged, non-Earth jutsu ninja.

This works fine as far as HLaM and Living Roots are concerned, as far as I can see?

One minute is 20 rounds of combat, not 6.

I thought each Round was ~10 seconds?

Each round is really... 3 seconds? Fucking shit. This is amazing then.

We mayyyy have to throw some extra XP into HLaM to lesson that Athletics penalty.

Likewise for maybe some Athletics specific XP (that I'm angling for from the weighted training vest stuff) that can be used to solve that problem from the other side (boost Athletics).

I like it; though, my irrepressible wet blanket instincts prompt me to remind you of the counterattack rules, making this rather less useful against melee types (I suppose we might be able to get some kind of ambush bonus for popping out behind them?).

It's useful with macerators.

Keep in mind that the QM version of 'good idea' can also be 'would be fun to write', so QM approval of an idea isn't quite a guarantee that it'd turn out well.
Honestly I think we could convince them to throw a bonus XP or two as long as its sufficiently funny to write.

Atheltics/Physique:

"Hazou joins Gai and Lee for a morning workout!"

"Hazou must eat bites of his meals today in between pushups! In addiion, he needs to eat all meals on the ceiling!"

Alertness/Athletics:

"Hazou gets thrown into the Konoha womans onsen, half-naked, blindfolded and with his hands triple tied behind his back. He must dodge the horde of angry kunoichi for a few hours and gather his clothes without taking off the blindfold!"

Taijutsu:

"Hazou takes a D rank to help out the Konoha Lumber association! He must chop down 2,000 trees using only Taijutsu! He then must deposit them all at the warehouse, using ONLY TAIJUTSU!"

Etc.

Fuse some wacky anime chores, comical situaions and "weird Rock Lee training." and that will do the trick for a lot of them IMO

So right! I dont consider this a massive problem though. We are good at CQC

This was my brains solution to:

"Dear brain,
Hazou vs Pikachu
Starting Distance: 50m
Solve."

Lightning is weak against Wind so if there is something like a Wind version of Hozuki's mantle that could be used to tank the first hit it takes to get to Pikachu.

Of course, with high enough Athletics (?) you could just dodge the first strike completely.

1) I didnt know that elemental rock paper scissors works here
2) Hazou is Earth affinitied and additional chakra affinities cost a fuckton of XP

Why wouldn't it?

Note that elemental counters are not hard counters but act more like force multipliers, i.e. it would take a much stronger Lightning attack to pierce a Wind shield than any other elemental shield but it is possible to do so if the Lightning technique is a lot more powerful than the Wind shield.

Canon even has a fitting scene where Wind users fight a former Raikage with a full body Lightning shield, and while it made sense strategically they still lost because the Lightning jutsu was so much stronger.

It makes more sense to me if Kishimotos chart is less a hard rule and more general tule of thumb sort of thing of the sort of jutsu's those schools have.

Obviously a piercing lightning jutsu or a splody splody lightning bolt would fair better against a MEW wall than a big wave of water.

A big wave of water will probably do pretty well against fireballs, though.

I think we've asked this ones a couple times and I don't think the QM's have answered. If there were Elemental Rocks-Paper-Scissors, I think that Hazou would have been told by now tbh.
