Yes, an intensely passive-aggressive joke. It's the equivalent of QMs going "Oh, look, the players are once again about to make a bad decision and then whine about the consequences, isn't that funny".

Yeah, I'd think that would be pretty funny because that is very much spot on for what the playerbase's reaction is when things don't go our way.

And again, I'd hardly call the post "intensely passive-aggressive"

It's like you people want us to die on the Sunday update. :V

Agreed. One of my top picks for what to do during the month of training before the tournament. Or bargaining for the monkey scroll from Asuma.
I maintain my position that we should not assume a summon scroll exists just because it did in canon, since I can easily see the QMs deciding to disregard the times some ninja uses a summon technique out of thin air as a one-off trick and such. Further, we know that being a Summoner is one of the things you boast about, a cornerstone of your reputation rather than your ace in the hole, and so the absence of any mention of people like Asuma or Gai being summoners in this story suggests to me that they aren't. If Gai were the Turtle Summoner, I would expect he'd be described as 'legendary Taijutsu expert and Turtle Summoner', which he wasn't.

I don't think attempting to acquire a scroll during our one month break is such a good idea, especially since it's uncertain that we will acquire one.

It's possible that the turtles are uniquely ill-equipped for anything directly combat related. If they offer other less immediately obvious benefits to their summoner but can't really be used in fights, I could certainly see Gai keeping them a secret. Why give away you have an advantage when you don't need to?

Itll take a few months of in game time before we can manage to track down another shmmkn scroll , I would think.

Theyre pretty useless TBH. Most of the military was killed when the Pangolins took over.
Yeah, and with a heavily Pangolin-allied new Condor Summoner the Pangolins could justify permitting some enslaved members of the former Condor military and having them become our Summons. They're now a military resource that can be used to support their Summoner and/or another way to get the Condors working with them as military forces.

Edit: Yes, they might not be super-useful now but later...

Not the Boss Summon, though. I imagine he'd be pretty desperate, could probably be talked into offering us any aid. Imagine it, we could play both sides of the Pangolins - Condors conflict, reaping immense benefits in the process!

Nothing could possibly go wrong.

If we get all three members of Team Uplift a summon, we could become the next Sannin and Akane can become the next White Wolf!

Fair enough. I think we should try to find super compatible summons for all three of us though. Keiko and Pangolins are already working great. Noburi could use some Water based summons that give synergy to his VD, and I think we'd need a flying summon or maybe a stealth based type.

Condors most likely then. Capybaras are...possible, but I'm worried about the situation in Tea.

Do you guys really want a summon for Hazou? Keiko nearly died during her first visit to the summon realm, simply by saying the wrong thing to Pantsa. Imagine if it was Hazou in her place, with his Aspects.

I mean, if the Summoning Clan has been subsumed by the Pangolins we shouldn't have an issue, since they'll have a ton of pressure put on them to accept us no matter what.

*cough*Condors*cough*

Someone found the Condor scroll and it may not be Mist. Even if it were the case, pressuring Mist to give up their condor summon won't be good for our alliance. Mist desperately needs the firepower.

Also, fighting ninja of that caliber is inherently risky. And I prefer not to take high-risk missions unless it's necessary.

It's most likely not Mist, right? Summoners are usually S rank, and Mist doesn't have any S ranker left.

It would depend on the summon. Further, our situation is quite a bit different from before - now we're part of Leaf rather than missing-nin, and we're family with the Toad and Pangolin summoners. Killing us would have actual consequences beyond "not getting a summoner". As long as we don't go for someone that's an explicit enemy of our current allied summoning clans, we stand a good chance.

I'll note though that the Condor boss summon is still at large, and still in a state of war against the Pangolins. And the boss summon of any summon clan can forcibly cancel a reverse summon. Until the boss summon of the Condors has submitted to the Pangolins or been killed and replaced, becoming the Condor Summoner would likely have problems.

Capybara would probably be easier, provided we could get the scroll.

It should be possible, we just have to be clever. First, we determine the animal we are about to summon. Then we have Keiko and Jiraya travel there on the seventh path to gather intel, introduce Hazou ahead of time, and eventually stand with him when he negotiates his first contract.

Do you guys really want to do field missions to acquire a scroll when we could all stay in Konoha where it's safe?

"You know how the Capybara Summoner disappeared a few weeks ago? Well, it turns out the humans who have the scroll now are on the other side of that big conflict you've got going on, and the Condor Summoner is going to negotiate for it so she can give it to her allies. Obviously, that would be a disaster. If the Capybara Clan and its elite infiltrators throw in with the condors… I don't even want to think about it. The trouble with being the most honourable of the clans is, well… our counter-intelligence isn't everything it could be, and this is coming from an expert. That's where you come in."
"At the same time that they brought us the skywalker seal they also brought us intelligence that on September 6 there will be a meeting at the Hinago Medical Center in northern Rice. At this meeting the summoning scroll for the Capybara Clan will change hands. We don't know who will be involved in the exchange but if there's a summoning contract involved we assume the people involved will be powerful. Nara can give you the exact details after my report, but he estimated that there was a thirty percent chance the buyer will be from Mist."
Yes, I recognize that Mist would not want to give up its Summoning scroll. I was making a joke that when the inevitable Invasion Arc comes around the Condor Summoner could be killed and we could take their scroll.
