I doubt we won't talk about it with Mari -- but I'm pretty sure it's a good idea to mention that we talk about what happened with Mari. Given Jiraiya's permission, anyway.

We should also consider seeing if we can get Panjandrum some food for thanks from the Akimichi.

I don't agree with telling Jiraiya about the Minami situation: Jiraiya already debriefed Keiko in the summoning (i.e., face-to-face). If Keiko believed it was a bad idea to tell Jiraiya then I don't want to disagree with her, because Keiko is smarter than us. If Jiraiya asks to talk about this then we do so, but otherwise...meh. Same thing with Mari-sensei, although that's because I don't know how we'd get a secure location.

I'm still writing the Keiko section so I haven't added the "get Panjandrum some food" part yet, but I might. Though given what Panjandrum thinks is good cooking, I'm not so sure he'd appreciate Akimichi-style food.

  • General:
    • Follow Akane's lead while she's our sub-team leader. Follow Minami's lead after we regroup.
    • Be polite at all times. Especially to people who could make life difficult for us (e.g., Hyuuga, Uchiha).
    • Try to avoid triggering Minami's insecurities.
      • She's team leader, but she inherited a team who treats her as an outsider. Avoid reminding her of this.
    • When moving, minimize chatter in favor of alertness.
  • Main Questline:
    • Report to the Lord Hokage.
        • If we have a OPSEC standard, use that. Otherwise:
          • Physical disguises (veils).
          • Henge into (unique) disguising forms.
        • Be polite and honest. He's the Hokage.
        • Do what the Hokage says. He tells us to report on Goda, we do so. He tells to report on something else, we do so.
        • Let Akane report, since she's the current team leader.
        • Politely inform the Hokage beforehand that clan secrets were involved with the Goda mission, and possibly make sure we're secure.
        • Report on the circumstances that let us know of Goda.
          • Bouncer in Ise delivered information on Goda's presence.
        • Report on our plan to capture Goda.
          • 3 Pangolins, Keiko, Noburi to hide in water.
          • Pangolins to provide main threat against possible ninja forces.
          • Noburi to drain all hostiles to unconsciousness.
          • Minami, Hazou, Akane, Keiko, Kagome to provide support alongside Pangolins.
        • Report on the execution of our plan.
          • Pangolins were able to begin the ambush from stealth, but took a casualty against Goda's bodyguards.
          • Combat suggests the two pangolins engaging the ninja would fail given more time.
          • Noburi was able to defeat the ninjas within seconds, as well as the civilians (including Goda).
          • Minami, Hazou, Akane, Kagome did not influence the battle (they arrived after the ninjas were drained).
        • Report on the aftermath.
          • Executing civilians.

      • Get food & weapons as ordered.
        • See if we can get a spyglass or telescope. Ask Mari-sensei if we get the chance to talk with her.

    • Keep in mind Minami still considers us to be the Cold Stone Killers/outsiders.
      • Disguising the use of secret abilities (Pangolins, Mist Drain) so we might not need to kill witnesses.
        • Disguise Pangolins using physical coverings or Henge. Ask Pangolins in future?
        • Apply Misterators first, then Pangolins attack while LOS is blocked with Mist.
      • Timing between the air-team landing and the boat team was off.
        • Not a problem this time, but could have been one if the enemy was stronger.
        • Leave Sodai's Prism with Keiko's team; visual for ambush beginning.
        • Learn Whispers on the Wind, useful for signaling for ambush.
        • Maybe have Panda be part of the air-team and be unsummoned beforehand as a signal?
      • Better knowledge of the Pangolin's personal combat ability for better diagnosis of enemy ninja capabilities.

    • Talk with him as time permits.
    • Ask him if there has been research into this in the past. If not, continue.

      • Standardize the "chakra point".

  • First ask if Jiraiya's been informed (via his debrief with Keiko) about the Mist Drain Incident. If not, explain.

    • We (Hazou) broke OPSEC regarding clan secrets to Minami.
    • Kagome panicked and tried to kill Minami.
    • We stopped that from happening, and convinced Minami to not report either the clan secret or the murder attempt.
      • Kagome has agreed to share everything he knows to Minami.
      • Kagome has also threatened to kill everyone Minami loves if she betrays us.

We don't have opsec concerns with Jiraiya. Choosing to actively withhold salient information from him would probably be considered treason. That said, you're talking about Keiko here. No matter how smart she is, she does have agency issues -- unless we specifically told her to, or he asked, she likely wouldn't talk to Jiraiya about that. Also, it was stated that we were waiting for the opportunity to talk to Jiraiya in person about it. Well, here's our chance: And on top of that we're giving him the chance to prepare the ground for Minami's return, if we don't make nice with her between now and then.

We can ask Jiraiya if it's alright if we talk to Mari about what happened on the mission (specifically referring to the boat, not to nearly blowing up Minami).

      1. Extracurricular mission began on a tip from operative in Ise.
        1. Said operative is requesting a home in Leaf, mostly for his daughter. He's asking for a month's leniency.
      2. Said tip was the Sunset Racer rolled into town with a whole bunch of Yakuza, to which the Yakuza in Ise rolled out the red carpet for.
      3. We commenced the attack on Sunset Racer sometime in midmorning the next day after receiving the tip.
        1. Both Pangolins and Mist Drain were utilized.
      4. We encountered two enemy ninja, likely genin to chunin class, leaning towards the chunin class.
        1. Noburi can explain in greater detail.
      5. All enemy combatants were drained unconscious or dead in about ten to fifteen seconds after we began engagement.
        1. Mostly unconscious.
      6. All documents were taken, along with anything of value on that ship aside from our new prisoners.
      7. Set your face in Iron Nerve.
        1. Everyone that wasn't the prisoner was executed via explosions that also sunk the Sunset Racer.
    3. Relax Iron Nerve and admit how we don't feel good about it.
      1. It was the first time Hazou, Akane, Noburi, and Keiko got blooded with civilian lives directly.
    4. If Jiraiya doesn't already know the story, tell him about Kagome trying to kill Minami.

    1. Sleep about sixteen hours in. Doing two all nighters in three days is going to destroy us, endurance training or no.
    2. Finish the run next morning.
  8. Complete the After Action Report, barring unusual circumstances.
    1. Avoid reminding Minami of her outsider status, and try to defend her if our teammates are snippy.
    2. Things that need improvement:
      1. Disguising trump cards.
        1. We played Mist Drain and Pangolins in an incredibly obvious fashion.
        2. Can we have Pangolins henge in future?
        3. Can we henge into statues of other summons to confuse reports?
        4. Activate the Misterators as the opening move, rather than letting the Pangolins roam about first.
      2. Timing between the two teams.
        1. Air team landed on the deck whole seconds after Boat Team secured all the hostiles.
          1. Luckily, Noburi managed to make this a nonissue.
        2. Perhaps in ambushes Minami can counter this with Soudai's Prism?
          1. Leave the Soudai's prism with the other team - on their signal, Minami's team moves.
        3. Maybe learning Whispers on the Wind might be a good idea? Depends on if we can find a teacher/Mari's notes work for that purpose.
        4. Lastly, maybe Keiko could leave a summon with the other team and unsummon them as the sign to attack.

You know, when I wrote that up one of the reasons was because I was under the impression that we didn't know if the Hokage's office was secured against Hyuga and the like. Then you told me that it was true and I remembered when Jiraiya told Hiruzen he got married that he had activated security seals, so lol to that.

The other reason, of course, is that Jiraiya may or may not be obligated to disappear Kagome. Not "trial + execution", but "quietly murder him and say it was a sealing accident". He did say to our face that he'll protect us from anything except for the law.

@huhYeahGoodPoint While they may be feeling guilty, I will note that none of the other genin are directly responsible here -- I wouldn't consider this their being blooded.
 
Jiraiya is only "obligated" to do anything if someone [not sufficiently loyal to him] knows. Letting him know now will allow him to, for instance, have a favorable contract written up loaning out Kagome, in exchange for "confidential services rendered" or something equally vague, when Nikkou returns.

If he goes too far in the other direction it's Minami who gets quietly shiv'd. Jiraiya is not the kind of person who takes risk with regards to his family, if we're suddenly serious about him pissing on people's ashes if they fuck with us.

Added in a request to have Jiraiya make absolutely sure that no one not loyal to him alone was listening when talking about Minami-Kagome Incident. Asked Jiraiya not to take preemptive measures against the Minami for Kagome's sake. He agreed to his penance, he gets to live with it.

@huhYeahGoodPoint I am disliking your plan further now.

WoG said that Hazō talked to everyone but nobody came to a consensus about talking to Jiraiya about this. So please remove it and don't unilaterally talk to him about without discussing it with the team.

Also, we do not need to be touching the kid, even if it's Mari.

If I haven't already, I object.

I also object to checking the ninja for Henge, since any competent enemy would be using her as a disposable pawn. And given her status as a baseline messenger that's so friggin' easy.

Talk to the team about it. In the meantime, we need to tie Minami further to us so that she doesn't squeak.
