You have no idea how much I sympathize with you right now.

Speaking of which: That's two people that have stated a general feeling of wrongness about the shoulder clap; if anyone else objects I'm removing that section.
I object to a shoulder clap. If this is not the messenger from Leaf, we're in serious trouble which dispelling a henge will not particularly help. Attempting to do so does demonstrate a certain lack of trust though, and most likely will just result in a bruised genin, possibly an amused Mari, and at worst, an uncovered secret Leaf agent.

If we don't have a 10 foot pole we need to buy one and keep it in a storage scroll. A long pole is very useful when you need to poke something suspicious with a stick.

S.O.P. in a ninja interaction should be for everyone to immediately Kai and then poke their fingertips with senbon, with anyone failing to follow this protocol being treated as a hostile agent.

Talk to the team about it. In the meantime, we need to tie Minami further to us so that she doesn't squeak.
Talk to the team about talking to Mari? Um...

Not trying to be smart, I honestly think talking to Mari before we get back to the rest of the team is necessary for us to get a good plan for talking with Jiraiya. Mari's on our side, and she knows how politics work.
Done. Should I remove Noburi's dispel too?
Yes.

I don't know. I really think we should talk to the entire team about it before talking to Mari.

God, I hate touching this issue even with a ten foot pole.

Except we can't talk to the team because 2 of them (Keiko, Kagome) aren't even here.

I guess we could ask Noburi and Akane? I mean...

Too late for that. Can't really talk to them about super duper secret stuff.

For now, I suggest tabling it until we get back. Our best bet at this point is to tie Minami further to us and work out how "Kagome's personal loyalty" works.

How about this, then?

We can take a bit of time to ask Noburi and Akane right now (before we go to Leaf) if we should talk with Mari about talking to Jiraiya. If they say no then we don't act. If they say yes then we tell Mari-sensei (in a secure area) and get her opinion on what we should do. Then talk to the team.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Well what choice do we have?

We're not politically competent. If we weren't able to figure out what to do before now, it's relatively clear that we need help.

Mari-sensei is the only person in existence that a) we can contact, b) we can trust, and c) we can get a good answer from.

I don't know, man. I think Keiko and Kagome has radically different perspectives that could prove useful, but we just don't have access to. I prefer not to take any action WRT the Kagome situation and I basically trust Minami not to screw us over.

I feel like y'all are unnecessarily freaking about talking to Jiraiya about this. Not to say that we shouldn't be freaking out about it, but I feel that you're doing so unproductively. What do you think Keiko or any other would have to add to what we'd say besides telling us "good luck, chump" and "I'll give your ashes to your mama"? :p
I'd be hella up for that, or variations of it (Hazō-sensei quest when?)
Kagome-sensei quest more like

On another note, I'm kind of looking forward to getting back to Minami. You were right to include the scene where we talked to the team, and I feel that increases our likelihood of a conversation checking in on Minami's mental state working out in our favor.

@eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail Did we ever decide whether or not to put on physical veils, or did Jiraiya state as such in the message, or...?
I don't recall anything being stated about this subject.

@eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail When did we receive the message to wait on the Kurosawa Hana situation? What was Hazou's opinion on the "something" (was it the courier mission or the Goda mission)?
You received it when messaging Jiraiya about Goda. Hazō thinks it refers to the Goda mission.

Probabilities updated to 70% likelihood that it was rerferring to the courier mission. Hazou has plenty of reason to be biased here.

Okay, in context it reads like our team agrees that Jiraiya should know but disagrees on how much we should tell him.
@eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail What was the minimum amount that our entire team agreed on telling Jiraiya about the Minami Kagome situation?

In short:

Keiko, Akane and Noburi feel you should tell Jiraiya everything.

Minami thinks her report should acknowledge the incident in as minimal a form as possible ("intra-team tensions resulting in a physical altercation which has been fully dealt with", or something along those lines).

Kagome thinks you should tell Jiraiya nothing whatsoever.

Hazō is undecided.
