Voting is open for the next 1 day
So, I support @Jello_Raptor's idea to separate the Action Plan (where we are going and how) from Debrief Plan (what are we saying to our party and how). I broke up my original proto-plan to accommodate this.

[X] Proto-Plan: Pit Stop at the Islands

Lose our tracks in the islands southeast of Hot Springs and make sure the team is mentally and physically okay. Scope of the plan is short, few days max, after which we decide what we are going to do for the whole recuperation period.

Use the winning Debrief Plan for how Hazou deals with the team socially.

Goals
  1. Lose any trackers
  2. Debrief the team
  3. Prepare for and plan our next move
Method
  1. Head to the islands and find a temporary hideout
    • Emphasize water walking and don't make landfall before finding a suitable hideout location
    • Do not use MEW for fortifications
  2. Use the winning Debrief Plan for how Hazou deals with the team socially
  3. Miscellaneous
    • Have Keiko check whether J got back on us through the pangolins
    • Have Kagome try decrypt the cipher piece we acquired

Here's how I would tackle our team socially. I think we should focus on the essentials and not get sidetracked by trying to micromanage everyone on the team. The idea is to prod Keiko to share her worries with us (or someone else) and see if Kagome could also work as a counter isolation tool.

[X] Debrief Plan: Pit Crew Management
  1. Have a team meeting about what went right and what went wrong during the mission
    • Wrong
      • Shady employers are bad
      • DMZ are a very serious thing
      • Don't enter closed spaces without a proper exit strategy or three
      • Next time, we really need to prioritize not causing collateral damage
    • Right
      • Infiltration went well
      • Scouting went well (gj Noburi!)
      • Break-in went well (gj Akane!)
      • All things said, combat against two CQC jounin went extremely well (gj Keiko!)
    • What does the party want to do next?
    • How is the general mood of the party?
    • What does the party think about changing our stance on VHitM in order to appease J if he is super pissed at us?
  2. Talk to Keiko about her confession and make sure she is okay
    • Hazou doesn't really have any advice or wise words, but he STRONGLY RECOMMENDS, or maybe even URGES Keiko to talk about what happened with a team member
    • Tell Kagome that we are a bit worried about Keiko, if he can stick close to her for company that might be good

[X] Debrief Plan: Pit Crew Management

@Twofold, if we do end up going through frost or north far enough in general, we should pick up some ice along the way. It'd make a great commodity once we make it back south.

Otherwise, I'd prefer more explicit scouting and ways to muck up our trail. If we're going over ocean that mostly means making sure we're out of sight of boats/land for some non-trivial portion of time.

Also, a stated preference for someplace hard for non-ninja to get to or see would be nice.

We should also get moving today, honestly. The sooner we're out, the better. I'm sure they have bloodhounds even if they don't have sensory ninja that would perform the same task, although while henged we won't be leaking blood all over the place, we'll need to clean our non-henged gear very well.

e:
Oh, an aside: Does anyone know of a way to sync a google doc with a .txt on dropbox?

EDIT: ...or maybe I really am the only one who is bothered by this? That's also useful information to know.
You're really, really not.

I don't really care that Mari didn't follow our plan. My issue is that QMs had us vote in the first place and when there was no real way for Hazou to impact the situation. Why are we voting for things and making plans if they don't get followed?
My issue is.. Heh.. Twofold. The cancelled vote was a nasty surprise. At least in hidden mountain cutscene break was clearly indicated, here we got a big fat fake-out for our trouble.

And Mari.. Oh, Mari..
Despite her taking over and doing something different than your plan, I incorporated as many elements of the plan and the thread's discussion as possible. The characters were positioned where the diagram (someone?) drew showed them. Mari used a genjutsu. Keiko stayed in the corner and threw things. Akane tanked and shouted about Youth in order to cause SAN damage. Hazou used a MEW to squash Joutarou into the ceiling. [The plan actually said "hit him in the knees" but at that point Hazou was actively looking to bring the house down as a means of escape.]
Why didn't you incorporate the part where thread universally agreed that dimplomancing our way out was a bad idea?
And the rest? That's minor details. Akane shouting about youth is a cherry on top of cake. Genjutsu was the main dish, and it was supposed to be served before Joutaro calls for help. Which he got to do, because Mari, our people person, forgot about the jounin here at the resort she herself 'befriended' what, two days earlier?

And why did Mari forget her?

I forgot about Komori being there until someone in the thread mentioned her. Because I had forgotten that Komori could potentially be backup I decided that Mari had as well.
Mari, our professional infiltrator, she just forgot who' s present at the resort. When the number of notable individuals can be counted on one hand. When this notable individual she herself chatted up and questioned and assessed.
Like that's not breaking character. Like the the reason is not ridiculous, considering I woke up to:
Um. Yes. Yes, that is totally a thing he can do which I absolutely did not forget about. I was, um, testing to see if you were paying attention!

Which reminds me, we never did hear why Keiko rolled that Weapons check with only 18 dice. Did the mass combat/chakra dice suffer the same fate Hazou's Roki bonus did, originally?

I have a feeling that there are some ruffled feathers in the player base (not just yours, @Twofold)
"Ruffled feathers". After we lost all we achieved here due to Cutscene incompetence. Sure, let's go with that.

Puppies and kittens. Akane playing with puppies and kittens. No, better, Akane playing with and helping train young pangolin in the ways of YOUTH.

Hazou doesn't really have any advice or wise words, but he insists that Keiko talks about what happened with a team member
Or maybe we should give her space instead? Hazou insisting Keiko does something particular implies he knows better, but when it comes to romance I suspect even Kagome is more canny. Maybe just offer our company, understand if she needs to be alone, and otherwise not tell her what to do, one way or another?

Don't talk to me like that.

Are you trying to calm me down? I am already as calm as it gets when it comes to this issue.

Are you telling me not to be upset? You don't get to do that.

I apologize if I came across demeaning or anything like that, I was trying to be humorous in an attempt to improve your mood. I was worried for your state of mind.

Accepted. The humor fell flat but I appreciate the sentiment. Don't worry about my state of mind tho?

Shady Employer
  • Might be able to get 45,000 Ryo (that's a lot of sealing paper)
  • Likely at least marginally happy with us (we were marginally successful, but may have been... louder and more violent than they hoped)
I suspect we were exactly as loud and violent as they hoped for. Remember spy guy complaining Mari made him center of attention that one time? Bet he doesn't have that problem now, the bastard.

This works if Honami doesn't tell anyone about us, but I'm rather confident she will.
I bet she will. I bet they will show her our bingo book page so she can read about us betraying our home herself. Might even show her Mari 's so she knows she was deceived and used by a pro. Honami is one unhappy camper right now.

Which is maybe the key point. I think in the future, votes should be far more focused on what Hazou does. I mean, look at what's happening right now. People are voting on where to go next like Hazou should be the one to decide.

Here is how I think it would be better to frame that kind of vote. Have all the NPC state their opinion (or refuse to state if they don't have one) and then Hazou can agree with one of them or come up with his own plan and try to convince the others to follow it, That's how I would like to see these "what does the group decide to do next" decisions handled.
When we have the kind of updates you're talking about, we get complaints from writers who produce them about "yet another talking heads update where nothing happens" and little to no reward of any kind.

We usually do it the other way instead: Hazou forms his own opinion, then voices it and group gets to vote. And sure, our plan tends to win, but that's player agency and semi-decent plans (most of the time) for you.
Now - Hug Kei and tell her not to worry.
Keiko doesn't like hugs. Hugging someone who doesn't like hugs is not comforting for them. And telling her not to worry is useless - you know she will. That's how she is.
The winning plan represents what is going through Hazou's head at the moment. If something he didn't account for happens, then that plan should not survive contact with reality.
And that's different from every other plan we produced how?

They haven't had a summoner in centuries. What makes anyone think that their medics know anything about healing humans?
In addition to what others said, we don't know how long magical pangolins live. There may well be some alive who got to treat humans back when. It's not like anatomy changed that much since then.

*looks around*
Aaand back to my own plan, thx for feedback y'all. Will produce an update soon*

Mari, our professional infiltrator, she just forgot who' s present at the resort. When the number of notable individuals can be counted on one hand. When this notable individual she herself chatted up and questioned and assessed.
Like that's not breaking character.

While that is true, the alternative explanation would be that Mari didn't consider the possibility that random ninjas could be recruited for lethal combat under the banner of DMZ, no questions asked. It certainly came to me as a full surprise after the update. My initial impression was that Joutaro was also from Earth or that the Dragonslayer was hired as a backup or something. Maybe they knew each other from before or there's some established protocol when two jounin meet at neutral ground?

Or maybe we should give her space instead? Hazou insisting Keiko does something particular implies he knows better, but when it comes to romance I suspect even Kagome is more canny. Maybe just offer our company, understand if she needs to be alone, and otherwise not tell her what to do, one way or another?

If we don't push at all, Keiko is just going to close up and isolate herself. I mean, insisting that she talks to someone doesn't sound like a too big of an imposition on Hazou's part. Part of being a friend is giving someone the space they need, but the other part is definitely kicking the friend in the shins when they are getting too broody.

Or wait, does Keiko even consider us as her friends? Or are we just a necessary complication to facilitate her survival and access to Mari? Maybe Hazou is the one who should be feeling broody. (Not to mention poor Nobby.)

I guess I could soften the "insists" to "recommends", "asks", or even "pleads", but those don't really feel quite right either.

Mari not picking up that Komori is the kind of gal who'd offer (limited) assistance to a fellow ninja being assaulted in DMZ is kind of dubious too, you know? And her not knowing about universal Jounin protocols (if they exist) even more so.

But more importantly, that is explicitly not what happened.
She forgot. We have WoG on that. And the reason why... Yeah.

Re: Keiko: fair nuff. I see your point.

As far as spending time with Nobby goes, maybe we could help him experiment with water whip in aims of creating his own fighting style for it?

That... Will probably have to wait until he feels better. Right now only thing Noburi can probably improve is Control. Our kind of research heavily depends on the ability to quickly vacate the research site, after all.

How dead are they? Are they like "neck snapped" dead or like "pulverized into dust" dead?

I ask this because I want to know if the information we were sent to recover has been destroyed, which fulfills one of our contingency goals for the mission.

They were crushed under a falling wall so, yes, the "scroll" was destroyed.

To an extent we already do this with the Lore Update votes. I've not pushed for finer granularity delays because I figured the regular schedule makes updating much easier for both you and @eaglejarl. Is this not the case? Would you be okay with delaying a vote by a few hours or a day, or till after some response to an important question is written and we have time to think it over?

I'd prefer to keep the schedule. Having the consistency feels good to me, and it also makes it easier to plan my outside life.

[...things...]
Which reminds me, we never did hear why Keiko rolled that Weapons check with only 18 dice.

Thanks for letting me know the specifics of what bothered you. I'll keep it in mind for future updates.

I'd rather not debate every choice in the update, but I will clarify the 18 dice issue: as it said in the text, Keiko wasn't trying to hit Komori with the dresser, she was trying to disrupt her movement, and the only reason it had a shot of working at all was because Keiko made the throw before Komori entered the room. I could have simply declared it to work by fiat, but I chose to roll instead in order to see if she had the timing right. Chakra boost in combat relates to power and precision of the throw, which wasn't appropriate here -- this was simply timing.

And now that the drunk guy has stopped shouting outside my window at ~2am, I'm going to get back to sleep. Catch you all in the morning. (EDIT: Just to be clear, there's a literal drunk guy who was shouting outside my window. It just occurred to me that this could have seemed like I was being snotty to Muer'ci and so I had to come clarify it. I don't know if it did or not, and I'm too tired to assess whether it's counterproductive to mention it, but it was worrying me. Okay, now I'm really going back to sleep.)

Adding this to my sig :D

She is an incredibly driven little girl
This made me pause to think about whether a 15yo is all that 'little'. After all, I was 15 not too terribly long ago.

Then I actually thought about it, and 15 is entering freshman year of high school here in the US. Like, holy shit, when I see freshman I always worry I'm gonna step on them, they should be at home complaining about doing chores, not murdering people and running for their lives. Then I realized that since he other genin are 13 iirc, they're seventh graders.

And THEN, I realized that in the Narutoverse, the 11-12yo girls I was teaching in the flute section at band camp earlier this month would be most of the way through being manufactured into child soldiers to be thrown into the merciless meat-grinder of shinobi combat.

And now, I'm properly fucking pissed. I'm glad the party already resolved to break this shitstain world and rebuild it better, because if we hadn't I'd have to start pushing for that. Hard.

One wonder where the weird creativity of our group comes from from the perspective of the elemental nations, assuming we survive long enough to make our crazy ideas come true.

Note to self: recruit a watchmaker.

Speaking of watchmakers, we need to get Hazou in contact with one of those and a compassmaker (do those exist right now?) to introduce him to the concept of springs and magnets. Once we figure out how to make a seal-based magnetic railgun, things are gonna heat up. Literally.

If you want a chakrapunk society, you need an engineer. A watchmaker is the closet person to an engineer I can think of. Then again, I am not sure about the technology level of MfD.

Though, I do wonder if they have anything resembling a natural philosopher or scientist in MfD!Naruto. Or even simply the concept of science.

E: We're actually under the last S of Hotsprings, where river hits the sea.

[X] Action Plan: Distract, Defuse, Deescalate

Goals:
  • Survive
  • Heal up
  • Hold onto sanity

Methods:
  • Remind everyone to keep the priorities straight/"Can we save this till later"?
    • Clear communiation? Why I never!
  • Let things calm down a bit.
    • Settle in for the night, pick watch shifts, get dinner, check perimeter, something normal team can cling to while we adjust to what happened.
    • Quietly fill in Kagome on basics of what happened: ran into a jounin, had to kill him, had to run. Complicated stuff save for later.
  • Leave in the morning
    • Stabilize injuries as best as possible with henged travel in mind
    • Noburi gets his chakra up via any streams we come across
    • Keep drama on down low, we can have a nice big breakdown once we arrive at the new place
      • No really, autopilot is good here. Do the necessary things first. Compartmentalize, etc.
  • Go to Iron. Why?
    • Because that's one place where they won't expect missing nin to go
      • Enough time passed since Big Stuff happened that it shouldn't be crawling with hunters anymore.
    • Because we have a fort there, and it was hidden well enough that it might just be empty. (might not matter, we're probably making a new one anyway, somplace else)
    • Because we have an expert on survival in Iron forest right here with us.
    • Because we know a healer in Yuni who might be amenable to patch us up and resume Noburi's lessons
      • for a price, but we have something like 5k and we can get more.
    • Because there are casinos there which can serve as a source of money, info and perhaps even more seals.
  • Go to Iron. How?
    • Waterwalk.
    • Run West into Fire, past Rice, get into Iron via Fire/Iron border.
    • Or something?
  • On the way to Iron:
    • Visit several border towns, catch any rumors on hunter-nin activity and general state of the world.
  • Once in Iron?
    • Check our fort, settle down there if it's as we left it. If it's not, and changes are suspicious:
    • Settle down somewhere else in the forest, defer to Kagome here.
      • Save Sealing shenanigans till we have a proper lab.
      • Also save shenanigans till we're at least 1 die better
      • Once we are fit to do research, see research plans
    • Visit the clinic in Yuni for that sweet healing, arrange for Nobby to resume his lessons once he's fit for it.
      • Hashimoto-san, Noburi missed you so. Please take him back under your wing for a bit longer.
    • Make money by small-time gambling
    • Buy sealing supplies (we know a good paper shop, Nobby can have that rematch)
    • Get Kagome to work on salvaged code <- for all y'all telling me to add it, it was there all along!
    • Keiko has a month to hang out with Pangolins. Make friends, get relashionship advice. Can't be worse than ours.
    • I guess [almost] all of the above will go into next plan, assuming we end up in Iron after all.
    • Something else?
  • Once we resettle, Full debrief:
    • Winning debrief plan goes here.

Contingencies:
  • If someone comes after us, running is preferred to fighting.
  • Opsec, yeah? Disguises, fake names when we're visiting places, the usual.
  • Minimize trail while on the road. We've done so much running, we should have a routine by now.

  • you know it

_________

Honami is something like 6 weeks due, last we heared? In about a month or so it would be good to check out the place (from afar) and anonimously deliver some ice. Like, we're still awful, but marginaly less so. Best not to wait till birth. Or maybe arrive early and wait till birth so we can leave a gift while everyone is busy.
Maybe get someting other than ice too. Maybe stick around for a bit to make sure HS ninja really don't go after her.
Eh, we can hash out details next time.

______________For reference: old debrief plan ___________
    • Once we have a secure place, talk about the mission
      • Full debrief, then discuss
      • Hugs for hugs-inclined people
      • Mad props Kei, for saving the day
      • Where did it all go wrong
      • On that note, we gotta learn when to fold it IC (I will say that OOC we got it covered)
      • Optional personal talks later, if we can manage it without being heavy-handed, as we have always been up to now. Personal preference:
        • hang out with Noburi for a breath of normality
        • hang out with Akane, just because
        • hang out in Keiko's general vicinity, drawing blanks or whatever. Silent support might be best we can do at this point, and she'll know we're there to talk to if she wants to.
          • If we get to talk about her worth to the team, point out how she just saved Mari (and everyone) not through pangolins, but her own power and Mori savvy. She, Keiko did that.
          • Summons are pretty rad tho.
      • Something else?

Might work on my own debrief plan, might not. Old stuff at the bottom, if anyone feels like grabbing anything.

We know that it's in the realm of possibility for Hazou to research MEW seals since he already knows the jutsu, but we have no idea how that would work with a jutsu described by someone who doesn't know any Sealing.

EM seems to me to be the best technique for us to experiment on, in regards to making a seal-based version of another teammates' technique. At its most basic level EM barely raises or lowers the temperature of a very small sphere; we aren't creating matter, the seal only outputs on thing: heat, and it does not require precision control to utilize, like Zephyr's Reach. Akane seems like the most willing person to share with Hazou a technique to be turned into a seal. Yes, it will be dangerous since all sealing experiments are dangerous, but I believe this is the safest technique a teammate has that we could possibly experiment on.

You don't need the seal for the prototyping phase, since you don't know if the hot balloon idea is going to even work in the first place.

It was mostly meant as a way to keep Hazou busy with an actual project for the three months of rest and recuperation the team needs. In addition, it could give us valuable feedback about the difficulty of translating a technique from another team member into a seal, as stated above.

There are other, more immediately useful and less dangerous seals we could spend our time on. (For example, we should research the casino seals to finally get access to chakra detection, voice and light output. If we want more work we could do tweak the sound seal to work on vibrations for silent alarms or pursue flashbangs.)

I agree that the casino seals could also have some uses, but how are light and sound emitting seals less dangerous than a heat emitting seal? For all we know, the casino seals could act as an alarm system that, when triggered, create blaring sirens or obnoxiously flashing lights. Furthermore, an EM seal is critical to any long term floating platform plans we have; the sooner we get started on it, the sooner we can traverse borders with ease by floating so high above them that we appear to be a bird.

In addition, we are probably looking for an extended break due to our injuries. Meaning there's a chance that we can do both Training and Research in the same update and we should attempt to do that.

I have nothing against an extended break, so long as we do not miss something important by deliberately time-skipping. I would rather like the results from all of the various Hot Air Balloon experiments ASAP, though just to see what we need to gather, improve, repair, re-evaluate, etc.

I think we need to make an actual decision where to go. The bordering countries are Rice (Oro-tan!), Frost, Fire and a bunch of islands to the east. This is kinda important since we have kicked a hornets nest and there'll be people after us. A small town might be nice, but it will also make it easier to track us down.

Originally when I first wrote up the plan I intended for it to only be a Proto-plan, but with my busy schedule recently I just said "fuck it" and voted for it anyway in case people thought it was good enough as is. If the hivemind can reach a consensus on where we want to go, I'd be happy to edit in said destination. Deferring to the resident medic seemed like the most prudent choice at the time; if Noburi (or anyone in the team, really) believes we should not risk going over open water in our state (for whatever reason), we should listen to them, not make them go on a forced march too far.

The tone of this thing seems awkward, what do you mean by her true self? Also, we have never had a conversation with a party member that has gone according to our plans, so I think it would be better to put something very general like: "Talk with Keiko about her and Mari." and see where the QMs take it.

By "true self" I mean that, whatever her preferences, quirks, embarrassing personality traits, what-have-you, Hazou will not criticize her for who she is or chooses/wants to be. The specifications were meant as a way to (hopefully) gain more XP, as more well-thought out plans generally give us more XP. Simply telling Hazou to talk to Keiko will most likely result in him putting both of his feet in his mouth due to his low Diplo skill level. I, personally, absolutely do not want to use Deception against one of our own teammates when she is having an overwhelming sense of embarrassment after blurting out about her crush on her teacher.

We also need to debrief the team, talk about the future, and take a stance on whether we are planning to go back to Tea to get our pay or not. (I vote for not going.)

Agreed, but having an update that only covers:
"Omg, we almost got creamed."
"Ikr, shit's cray-cray"

"Fuck Shady quest-givers"
"Agreed"

"Do you think Honami is pissed at us?"
"Definitely"

"Uh... Keiko, are you actually a lesbian... or..?"
"SHUT UP BARREL BOY"

Seems a bit redundant to me.

Might as well do something productive to take our team's mind off of almost dying horribly again and other stressed induced outbursts.
(Not saying we should ignore any such outbursts, but we should not force Keiko too much at this point in time. Having a difficult, interesting project will help alleviate the pressure she must be feeling right now.)

Current version of the Zeppelin plan, please critique:

[X] Action Plan: Rise from the Ashes of Defeat like a Phoenix... er... Zeppelin!

Goals:
  1. Survive
    1. Run away from Hot Springs as fast as possible
    2. Secondary goal of leaving behind as little tracks as possible, but speed comes first
    3. To escape any fights if necessary in an emergency, have Keiko throw PMYF kunai to allow for rapid substitutions
    4. If we think we are being pursued, Kagome can leave behind explosive traps as he sees fit so long as it does not slow us down.
    5. Using clones as a means to throw off potential trackers will be left up to the clone-users best judgment; if they feel the chakra expenditure is worth it and no one is telling them not to (for whatever reason) they can feel free to do so.
  2. Find a place to lay low for awhile, the following are in order of priority with Mari making the final decision (if she is too incapacitated, Hazou makes the decision after consulting with the rest of the mentally capable team)
    1. We want to go somewhere:
      1. Safe
      2. Not in Hot Springs or anywhere that has a large amount of ninja activity (this can be overruled at QM's discretion if we are not fit for a border crossing at this point in time)
      3. Has access to basic necessities like fresh water, forage-able food, etc.
      4. Has access to a small town with basic trade
  3. Make a new hidden Kagome fort at the chosen location with room for sealing experiments.
    1. Preferably with enough room to test various capabilities of a hot air balloon, but safety comes first as always.
  4. Noburi begins healing the team's injuries at his own discretion once we are in a safe location.
    1. If someone needs emergency treatment at any time, have Kagome and anyone else fighting fit stand guard until the patient is stabilized and then proceed to run, carrying whomever as necessary.
  5. Begin work on researching whatever we need to know for a basic prototype hot air balloon.
    1. Refer to this post by @OliWhail as needed for the basic first steps in planning a primitive hot air balloon
      1. All construction of parts will be done discretely in the fort; assembling the balloon for a test will be done outside once it is ready for a test flight (if we get that far).
    2. Keiko is in charge of organizing logistics; if someone needs something, be it a specific skill or resource, she notes it down for Hazou to later assemble into list form.
      1. If something goes wrong, we don't have something, or whatever, have her examine why she thinks it went wrong so the rest of the team can think of a solution later on.
        1. Failure is an option so long as we learn from our mistakes.
          1. However, catastrophic failure (something that would injure any of us) is not acceptable; Kagome is in charge of safety and if he feels that something can go unexpectedly wrong at some point, we encourage him to voice his concerns as often as he has them.
      2. For a canvas material, we can start by using paper as a proof of concept while looking into silk, linen, or other types of material that we could reasonably have access to sometime in the mid-term future.
    3. Akane tests out her Mechanical Aptitude abilities when it comes to inventing a new vehicle (essentially, she tries to do whatever she can to assist in the construction.
      1. Encourage her to try to make an airtight canvas first, a basic yet structurally sound basket to ride in second, and a heat resistant sealant third.
      2. Remind her that until we have another way to generate lift, she will be responsible for powering the balloon.
        1. Hazou promised her that he would find a way to exploit this technique and this is his first attempt at doing so.
    4. Hazou, with Kagome's and Akane's assistance, begins researching a possible Elemental Mastery seal to act as an alternative source of lift for the prototype balloon.
      1. If he can make an EM seal in time for the first test, great. If not, he can apply it to the second, third, etc. rounds of tests. Right now we want to see if whatever balloon we make can actually get off the ground.
      2. If Hazou can choose various attributes of EM he can tweak (like, say, he can change the shape of the air affected from being a sphere centered around the user, how hot he can make the air, how long he can make the seals output hot air, whether or not he can implement an on-off switch in each seal, etc.) have him report his initial findings for further hivemind consideration.
        1. If he still has time and it would not harm further experimentation/research, have Hazou make a few basic EM seals for testing purposes.
  6. Once Hazou and Keiko have enough downtime, have Hazou talk to Keiko using extremely clear communication (credit for the idea goes to @OliWhail 's linked omake) that we support her in whatever personal choices she makes and that she should not be afraid to be her true self in front of us.
    1. Hazou makes an active effort as best as he is able not to judge her, but to honestly try to accept her as she really is.
      1. Encourage her to stay calm and rational as politely as he can if needed.
      2. Suggest that she examine the situation from an outsider's perspective if that helps her, but to remember that emotions are a part of being human and they are nothing to be ashamed of.

Edits will come in time, but feel free to be inspired and/or copy from this as per usual.

[X] Research Hazou: Elemental Mastery Seal
[X] Research Akane: Hot Air Balloon Blueprints/Assembly
(if Mechanical Aptitude needs to have a research component; if not, disregard Akane's research plan)

@eaglejarl @Velorien @Crackerjacks if any of this does not meet QM approval, please let me know so I can fix it without parts of the plan being scrapped or at worst vetoed entirely. I honestly don't know how Mechanical Aptitude is supposed to work besides trap-setting and lock-picking (and if anyone can show me a link(s) detailing what its limitations are, I'd love to read it/them), but even if it can't do what I would like it to do, having in game confirmation would be helpful.

Get out of Hot Springs. Ask Mari, Kagome, and Kei where they think looks safest for us right now.
Just ask everyone. We don't know Akane and Noburi have nothing to contribute, and sidelining them is rather offensive.

Have a team(-sans Kei) meeting beforehand while we're letting her calm down to plan out how we want this discussion to go.
I don't see how we can have a meeting without Keiko when security demands team stick together. One option would be to do this whie she's chilling in summon's realm, but I was under impression we want this conversation before she leaves to negotiate.

Agreed, but having an update that only covers [stuff]
Good point. Gon go edit some things back into my own plan.

It was mostly meant as a way to keep Hazou busy with an actual project for the three months of rest and recuperation the team needs. In addition, it could give us valuable feedback about the difficulty of translating a technique from another team member into a seal, as stated above.
I'm pretty sure we will have 0 problem keeping Hazou busy for three months. I mean... just look at all of those juicy sealing ideas in our tech tree.

e: And it's been stated in the past that the difficulty in creating a seal that emulates a technique is the same difficulty in creating any seal. It's just that sealing can do anything, so replicating ninjutsu is an easy target for things to do with them.
