we need more cheat codes
too bad a lot of that is going to be locked behind things like Technique Hacking and high-tier Sealing. Not too much to be doing in the short-term, especially while Hazou heals

Kagome could do research for weapons? But maybe Kagome should be devoting all his time to dragonwar research.

Hazou can cast this at Effect 1 for 26 cp, which means he can cross 20 zones underground per cast. He can cast the jutsu 10 times at full capacity. Zones specifically aren't regularly sized which makes it difficult to guess how much tunneling Hazou could do in a given cast. But as an approximation, I will take ninja sprinting speed (20 mph) and apply it for 1 round (3 seconds) to get an average zone size. This gives 26.8 m, which seems a little high, so let's round down a bit to 25 m. 55 miles is 88500 meters, or 3540 avg zones. This implies that it would take 177 casts of Hazou's tunneling jutsu to form the tunnel for a total of 4602 cp. That's a little less than 4 of Noburi's barrels, easily doable in a single day if he lots of refills, otherwise we could do it in a week.

@eaglejarl @Velorien how do the numbers for avg zone size look?
@eaglejarl @Velorien
How does this look for an estimate of the effort to tunnel to the Great Seal? I am very iffy about the length of an "average zone" but it did seem plausible with the way the jutsu is written.

One of them is doing research into a kind of explosive as a baby step.
The fact that reactive armor is non-trivial enough that Kagome still hasn't finished it and has noted how challenging it is to decrease the timer means we should not be entrusting it to someone who just learned how to seal one of the easiest seals in the setting

Are we doing anything to hide the fact that every Gouketsu that has chakra to spare is spending it on shadow clones?

Right now, the one taijutsu-spec in a small clan doing the Piccolo self-sparring thing is perhaps not noteworthy, but once theres 9 copies of Kei, and 7 copies of Akane, and 4 of Hazou, and 16 of Mari, and 12 of Haru, and 10 of Atomu and so forth, people are going to catch on that something is weird.

There is FOOM OPSEC in place, yes, so there's minimal concerns about a billion clones being spotted. Also remember Shadow Clone is actually a rare jutsu and it's mechanics are not widely known even in Leaf.

That said, FOOM isn't completely invisible. Someone who's paying attention (so like...Ami, but she already knows) would notice the Goketsu get stronger in weird bursts rather than linearly. Plus, anything that is inadvertently revealed through dialogue.

Since the skyslider team is approaching the manned prototype stage it seems prudent to begin considering names. I personally suggest having Keiko and the Nara vet the final design so we can put one of her plushies on the bow and call it the Kitty Hawk.

One of the main strategies we are considering to use for hiding FOOM is to have the first detour be for everyone to max out deceit. That way can just hide all of our skill development.

Another pretty good strategy to hide all the shadow clones is just do training on 7th path

Could somebody point me to the place where this is defined?
I'd campaigned for something like what's under "OPSEC issues" here several times (dig an underground facility for training, Summoners train on the Seventh Path...), but I don't believe anything like this ever made it into a winning plan. Honestly, I'd expect Mari, Kei, or Ami to have realized how unreservedly bad of an idea it is to do mass training in broad daylight, and to have figured out a way to fix the issue at least somewhat, especially since Kei had pointed it out IC ages ago. But if they didn't... Oh well.

It's more of a bad idea the more obvious it becomes. Right now, it's Kei at the Nara compound and Hazō and Akane at the Gōketsu compound--and Hazō hasn't done much actual SC training. Beyond that, if you are happy leaving something that could make or break the clan's future to unspecified offscreen NPC agency, more power to you.

Just get Akane a scroll and we can train on the 7th path

Do we know what exactly happens to SCs in the Seventh Path if the original isn't there? IIRC, we know that active SCs will forcefully disappear if the original is unconscious or asleep so there seems to some ping signal going back and forth, presumably.

We also know that in canon Naruto kept some of his SCs in the Seventh Path while fighting Pein without issue but canon doesn't necessarily mean it works that way in MfD.

I'm pretty sure I at one point gave a pseudo-official statement to Velorien about our FOOM OPSEC, but right now I'm sleepy and busy and can't afford to go find it.

The impression i had was that the original would also go to the 7th path for training. We'll see if they can really afford to be gone that long though.

Also, afaik the 7th path does not exist in canon. Mt. Myoboku is just far away rather than another dimension

This is my best understanding of it, if anyone else has something to add/contest, feel free to share your own understanding.

Starting from a new day with full chakra:
  • No real need to wait for a specific training time, just do it whenever's most convenient.
  • Go to a place deemed moderately safe from observation, as safe as can be attained without itself drawing attention.
    • Personal quarters might be suitable, or an underground training room, or a space outside of Konoha. Avoid training in public, if nothing else.
  • Cast Shadow Clone with as many clones as you need and leave.
    • If you need a chakra refill to get all the clones you need (note: which shouldn't be necessary for Akane or Keiko yet), cast at full capacity and then head out and get a refill and come back.
  • Leave and go about normal daily activities (including normal training separate from the shadow clones) while the clones train in seclusion.
    • The nature of training may have an effect on which quarters are suitable. Resolve training, as I understand it, is mostly meditation, which could be done in any room, while Ranged Weapons training would require space, tools, and targets to work with, and may instead be most suitable to an excursion to the Forest of Death.
  • At the end of the clone training session, all the clones pop themselves without Prime returning to their training room.
    • To coordinate, one clone can pop first, which should be an easy success given that only a small fraction of the total clone-hours are in play, and that happening can coordinate Prime to be ready for the rest to pop.
  • After all the clones are popped, Prime continues on as if nothing had had happened.

Maybe it's this?
