@Twofold On action + training plans:
- Cut-off: There isn't one? Maybe end the update when Akane wakes up and we get to talk to her. Or, you know, when @eaglejarl writes that Akane died from her injuries, which is more likely.
- Hazou: If we're getting new Doton Jutsu as our reward I'd suggest getting MEW 10 with the other stuff. Cost is 34XP but we're going to be using it a LOT anyway + it gives us that 50% off all future Doton Jutsu under that level, so it's a strong investment if the jutsu we get are anything worthwhile (they should be). That would leave us with 42XP which should be more than enough for us to get a few levels in our reward.
- Keiko: We haven't gotten a reward for her. May I suggest getting her a weapons style trainer that compliments her affinity for Wind Jutsu *cough*Asuma*cough*chakra blades*cough*?
- Akane: Assuming she survives she won't be combat-capable for a while, and I doubt she'd be able to learn MechApt in the hospital. But what she can do is train her Capacity, which is a valuable resource that requires less in the way of physical strain as it does jutsu usage. Just have her make Bunshin until she runs out of chakra, if that's how you train it.
- Noburi: He can't do anything until we get him a barrel. We also know that Konoha took Noburi's barrel (see below). What, exactly is the issue with asking Konoha to give Noburi's barrel back ASAP, and having him fix it right afterwards? Jiraiya + Hyuuga have already seen it in full and by the time we get the barrel back Konoha's sealing community will have picked it apart. I sincerely doubt the damage done to the barrel would occlude its seals to any significant degree.

I think it would be a huge waste to spend Noburi's favour on medic training, when we can already get that from Hashimoto. He could really use some more water jutsu, or at least new medical-based abilities, like Poison Mist (which incidentally would totally fit Noburi's style).
That's not even to say that we couldn't train medicine here. We may be able to get permission for medic intern quest without burning a favour on it. But if we can't, we should wait patiently for Hashimoto, because having med levels right now, instead of when we can get to Iron, is not worth Noburi's favour.

I'm wondering if we can make storage seals with a shared storage.

I am fiercely against letting Konoha just take the "seal crafting innovation of the year" with "so many applications that could tip the balance of power". We cannot just let them have this without even saying anything, and that includes banking on being able to make another major innovation and getting rewarded for that.
So ask Jiraiya if our team is going to get any recompense for handing a major advantage of our own invention (preferably quoting his exact words on how significant it'll be) to Konoha on a silver platter while giving him a very minor stink eye. Because seriously, if not, this is highway robbery of the highest magnitude. It might be enough to swing safe passage within Fire. Probably not, but it should give us a bigger favor.
Like, GAH, we cannot just let this go without even gathering the balls to acknowledge it.
Alright, I don't see why we need to discuss this in story. For me, Noburi's role as a Diplomancer has been our designation, and it wasn't like he had this nameplate with his official team titles on them. He was our Diplomancer in that we sent him out when we needed to gather info from townsfolk, and he took over on convincing people in general when Inoue wasn't around. If we recommend halting his social studies in order to refocus on medical stuff and his Jutsu, it will be a lot less potentially disheartening than hearing Keiko take away his job.
I really really dont like the idea of playing games with our minders. There are simply no rewards at all for training Deception now in this way instead of training it literally anywhere else on our own. Leave it, please.
I do really want this, but asking this as a free favor would be a bit much. Maybe pay for a C rank retrieval mission, along with a payment and a signed letter from Jiraiya asking her to put the barrel in a box for the ninja to take back without finding out what jt is.

Ummmmm, aren't we already going out disguised, either through Henge or whatever else? Because Konoha deserves any war that comes from Mist finding out that they have hired traitors if they are so stupid as to let Jiraiya's deniable missing nin agents wander around with no disguise.
I fear that some of the things I wish to change will be rather important, so I hope you actually see this before voting closes.

@Twofold I would tentatively agree with @ChronOblivion that getting Noburi jutsu, especially Hiding in the Mist, is likely a higher ROI on his reward so long as we can go bribe Hashimoto for more training. Offering to pay for barrel retrieval is also a cool idea, and I support more directly asking for a reward (if not a full favor) for the 5SB platforms given his reaction.
"Our innovation" or "the innovation you were so excited about", perhaps?
I beliiiiieve we hid it with the pangolins, with instructions for Pandaa to bring it when summoned?

- Highly useful seals to study. Could possibly swing for previous holders of the title "sealing innovation of the year", given that we were forced to give one of those up.
- Earth ninjutsu.

- Earth Nintaijutsu (Rock Armour, Earth Release: Earth Spear, etc.).
- Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld.
- Ranged earth attacks (Earth Release: Earth Flow Spears, Earth Release: Rock Gun Technique, etc.).

It pains me to say it, but there are things that Noburi could use more than Hiding in Mist. HiM is something Noburi almost needs for his VD build, but there are complications here. Firstly, misterators already fill the same niche, so one could argue that getting HiM would be XP spent on redundancy. Secondly, Noburi can only drain through real water, and if the mist from HiM is a chakra construct then the jutsu is utterly useless to him. On another topic, it would be a total waste of a favour to ask for medical training, given that he can get it from Hashimoto when we next go to Iron (as I ranted about at length higher in the thread). With that in mind...
- Tobirama's "create real water" skill.
- Hiding in Mist Technique, but only if it does something like creating real water from the already present water vapour in the air. If the mist is a chakra construct then forget it. Judging by the wiki entry, I'm not too hopeful.
- Poison Mist.
- Water ninjutsu.
- Water or Non-Elemental ninjutsu that require large amounts of chakra to use effectively.
- MechApt Specialty Instruction/Books.
- Architecture/Civil Engineering/Fortress Design.
- Hydronautics isn't too far from Aeronautics, right?
- Fire Ninjutsu.
- Fire Nintaijutsu.
- Fire Release: Great Flame Flower.
- Fire Release: Hiding in Ash and Dust Technique.
- Exploding Flame Shot.
- Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique.
- Any of the other numerous "try to guess how many 'different' ways I can breathe fire at you" techniques there are.

We can get one level for each earth jutsu we get and train them for later. Just like we did with MEW and Eart Clones. Getting MEW 10 saves us like 1 XP, so don't have to do it.
Chakra system is probably tied to healing and general health somehow. I don't really care if Akane can get the level for MechApt now, as long as her reading qualifies her to get levels later.
I don't know which part of the process is secret. Taking a risk and releasing a huge clan secret because of it sounds like a bad idea to me.
We can't get the training for free from Hashimoto either, and we have no idea when we will have free time to get it.
Medical ninjutsu and medicine is super important if we get actually injured. We've been coasting around with minor injuries but anything actually dangerous (see Akane) will get us killed. We need medical skills before our next mission and I'm not going to budge on that.
Also, we are at the cradle of medical ninjutsu. Getting their experts to train us is definitely a thing we should do no matter what the mechanics currently say.
I'd rather have sealcraft than technique hacking. It is better use of our experience, research time, and favor.

We have never voted to talk about in action plans, but we have been consistently voting for Diplomacy training plans for Nobby. As is, Nobby is slated as the diplomat because he has the most relevant dice in it and we are now planning to replace him with Keiko. Not talking about to him about sounds shady and the opposite of clear communication.
Hazou is just changing his personality and not doing anything actually shady.
We will get a team of ninjas to watch over us. Playing this sort of games should be as normal to them as taijutsu sparring, more so if they have heavy social specs as I think they will.
Besides, we need to have some fun in the plans. We don't want Hazou to turn into a miserable person with no sense of humor. (Not to mention how ninja power seems to scale with wackiness, as true munchkins we need to harness that.)
I don't think we have money for a C-rank retrieval mission. Besides, the barrel was damage incurred during a mission, and as a reasonable employer Jiraya should cover that kind of stuff.
I don't usually make plans if I'm not reasonably confident that I can show up close to the deadline.
The thing is, we can get both.
I'll reference to the excitement and he should know what is up.
How about we just focus on Keiko now, and only correct Mari if it keeps happening?

I added Nobby to New Team Talky's excursions in case he doesn't get med training.
I have tinkered with the rewards.
I have moved Mist jutsu above sealcraft, and then stated in the sealcraft reward that we want to get as many seals as we can with our favor.
Just to be safe I specified that we need something that creates actual water in the mist. This will out VD mist draining capabilities to J, but what can you do. We have a separate vote running for jutsu requests on the side so it probably doesn't matter that much.
Also, I don't really care if we get any new jutsu for anyone besides the mist one. Our favor is better spent on seals for the moment. Keiko especially doesn't have a burning need for Wind Jutsu, her chakra requirements is mostly slotted for summoning, and what is left after that will go to boosting and kawarimi. We want something for her at some point, but even one more seal for the party is worth more than a new jutsu for her.
Same goes for Hazou too, except that the doton training should be free since we agreed to it before.

"Not for free" is still tons better than "Costs a favour from Jiraiya". And provided that they don't have another mission for us immediately after Akane recovers (and I can't see them demmanding that of us at this stage), we can go to Iron as soon as she's better.
Right. But we don't have to take a mission before going to Iron to get training from Hashimoto.
Going to a poetry club near Shakespeare's house will not make me a legendary bard. Hashimoto is a perfectly competent medical expert, and I don't see any benefit at all to burning a favour on getting a second teacher.

Let alone that there's no mechanical reason to care about who our teacher is in a skill with these mechanics. Literally the only requirement is finding someone with skill 10+ to get us to 10.
It's like asking Jiraiya for Sealing lessons. Whyyy when we have Kagome, and besides we are 10 anyways. Ask him for Seals sure, it's a waste of time to ask for other stuff.

We are Jiraya's (and Konoha's) bitches now. We have very little control of what we get to do or when the next mission is going to show up.
If Nobby gets med training in Leaf, he will also get to drink from the well of institutional knowledge that the best medical facility in the world has accumulated. This is especially relevant if we want Nobby to design future medical endeavors (like hospitals) among civilian population.
But if people don't want to get medical training, that doesn't mean we should get only ninjutsu. Jiraya is very good at sealing and has Konoha's resources behind him. If we don't get med training for Nobby, we should use that favor for more seals.

We already have money to pay her. We weren't exactly destitute before, and (ninja'd) Jiraiya is paying us.
This is a massive exaggeration. We can't act directly against Leaf, or indirectly in a fashion they would notice. If they told us to do a mission then we could still turn it down (unless it was another "you screwed up, fix your mistake" situation), it would just burn goodwill. We are by no means "their bitches".
This is a very flowery way of saying that he would get an oppurtunity to spend XP on medical skill levels. Something he already has from Hashimoto.
Unless we can guarantee that training under Leaf mednins would involve some separate tangible benefit, such as learning Poison Mist Technique, and we have no such guarantee, it is mechanically identical to learning from Hashimoto and thus a total waste of a favour.

Regarding this whole debate about medicine, can I ask for clarification of a couple of things.
A) is our current teacher nearby?
If no then
B) do we intend to spend Xp on medicine now or in the immediate future?
