Presumably, but why would you want to make clones outside the house? They don't have seals and their combat/distraction ability is shit without them.
damn. Alright, outlining my plan

[X] Action Plan: This Is Not A Drill
Objectives:
  1. Survive.
  2. Reunite with the other team.
  3. Take Minami's body
  4. Erase our traces...explosively.
Actions:
    1. Dispel.
    2. Jump up on skywalkers so that you aren't touching the ground anymore. Should only be an inch or so of clearance between you and the ground.
    3. Take down the Air Dome if Minami isn't within the boundaries.
    4. Have Noburi mednin himself clear of the poison's effect first, then us.
    5. Use Usumatsu's Glorious Life Preserver to breathe outside air.
    6. Have Noburi drain Minami empty of chakra as fast as he can.
    7. Once Minami is confirmed drained of chakra, seal her as fast as you can.
      1. We may be able to save her from chakra exhaustion and the giant hole in her neck through Kabuto, but she cannot recover from brain damage.
      2. Take all her stuff too. Seals prioritized.
    8. Have Noburi spend about half his chakra in a Dispel.
    9. Disable our skywalkers and use Living Roots. Attempt to determine if the jonin is in the area.
      1. If possible, use Noburi's clone to flush out the jonin by way of forcing her to move. Only make one.
    10. Activate a Silence Mine.
    11. Prepare multiple exit points. Use clones to set up the exits if at all possible.
      1. Be aware that the creation of said exit points will compromise the structural integrity of the house.
      2. Chip out a divot and place explosive seals in said divot. Use Force Wall to protect ourselves. Possibly create multiple exits this way.
      3. Set up Force Walls to cut a door and be able to seal it at once. Use MEW if necessary. Preferably, set up the "door" with a macerator seal.
      4. Against the actual door, set explosive seals and Force Wall the frame to protect ourselves.
    12. Reactivate the Air Dome with us and whatever clones we made inside.
    13. If there haven't been any clones, make some now. The goal is to have these clones throw kunai down a preplanned route.
    14. Attach implosion seals, Dust Bomb seals, and Banshee seals to several kunai. Distribute them to the clones.
    15. Attach misterator seals to kunai. Do not hand them to the clones yet.
    16. Apply Banshee Slayer seals to ourselves.
    17. Leave one Dust Bomb seal on the ground.
    18. Blow open the exit points, take down the Air Dome after the detonation and have the clones throw the tagged kunai.
      1. Note that due to the mechanics of implosion seals, Dust Bombs and implosion seals have nonlinear effects when used together. Account for this when throwing.
    19. As that set detonates, give the misterator kunai to the clones.
    20. Have the clones throw the misterator kunai out the exits.
    21. Exit the building with skywalkers heading straight into the air within the misterator fog.
    22. Detonate the Dust Bomb on the ground.
    23. Run up as fast as possible and head for the clouds.
      1. If we locate the jonin early, set the exits such that one is directly opposite her, one is angled towards her but without her having a direct line of attack at us, one towards the roof and one at Hazou/Noburi's discretion.
      2. to be filled
    1. Head towards the other contact location.
    2. Stay above the clouds.
    3. If we don't find them at the other contact location, head towards the agreed meeting position. Stay above the clouds.
    4. Upon reuniting with them, debrief immediately.
    1. Give whatever code we need to in order to signal emergency, possible mission abort.
    2. Muzzle Kagome before we begin.
      1. Silence Mine or Banshee Slayer may work.
    3. State that Minami was KIA by enemy jonin, who turned our contact.
    4. Report the incident in full detail.
      1. Including the Yakuza message.
    5. Once Akane has confirmed her position as team leader, remove Kagome's muzzle.
    6. Have Keiko include the report with her daily report, or make it priority if she can.
      1. Reasoning being an enemy managed to replace someone in Jiraiya's network, and obtained intelligence. We were unable to verify destruction of said intelligence.
  1. Obey the return orders from Jiraiya.

I was honestly expecting this to be longer.

I'm confused to hear this criticism from you of all people, given that you designed Minami's abilities. You gave her exactly three ninjutsu: a reactive technique (the jōnin didn't attack her), an AoE technique (which would have hit her team) and an anti-MC technique (she was fighting a single opponent). She therefore did the most sensible thing she could as a swordswoman against a ninjutsu user - move in and try to take them out before further ninjutsu could be used. If you can tell me what means of coordination she could have employed with her team - bearing in mind that combat time was ticking and there was a jōnin about to attack - feel free.
@eaglejarl @OliWhail since you're also GMs: Is the AoE technique the electroshock jutsu? Because I'd like to point out that that requires the enemy to be touching the ground, and Noburi/Hazou both have Skywalkers which would allow them to avoid the attack.

We don't make people into Pez dispensers. That's outside our skill set.
If our enemy is dumb enough to lie in wait nearby us, they will die.
a distraction known as "~500,000 cubic meters of fire, 1,000,000 cubic meters of smoke, and 800,000 cubic meters of mist, with clones running out in a bunch of directions."
Pfffahahahaha these are great. Can I use the Pez one in my signature?

Oh yeah, something I had buried in my plan:

Implosion Seals and Dust Bombs, if detonated simultaneously, will likely result in higher explosive power.

If we have Minami's body, it should be obvious we didn't do it ourselves. We don't make people into Pez dispensers. That's outside our skill set.
We are more the expanding vapor types.... If of course you can find any trace of our victim. Side note, holy shit I was paranoid for the right reason about the wrong contact.

Since the implosion seal takes in air in a twenty meter radius and compresses it into an eighteen meter radius, when detonated simultaneously the environment that the Dust Bomb explodes in will initially be vacuum followed basically instantaneously by an oxygen rich environment due to the compressed air. The air will also rapidly expand, adding further outward momentum to the exploding dust particles.

At least, that's my intuition.

Also, @eaglejarl I just thought of something: It's entirely possible that Kagome would have noticed something being up, and/or won initiative if he were here -- either case would work out very differently: Without having won initiative she wouldn't have gotten Hozuki's Mantle up, and would have had to attempt to Tac Move out of the way of a Kagome blast with full multicombat bonuses in his favor.

Perhaps. I could see it going a couple ways, not going to think too hard about it tonight (and I'm busy rest of the voting period). It's likely a matter of timing. if both were released simultaneously, I'd imagine the implosion seal would make it worse, since then there'd be a bit of a gap between when the burning coal was released, and the rushing in air would confine the fuel into a smaller area, where less of it would ignite. Fuel Air Explosives already explode pretty quickly, though not at shockwave levels (I think). My intuition is that they'd mostly be more chaotic if both released at once: possible the implosion seal makes it so the FAE never ignites, possible that the FAE messes with the implosion seal's storage (since there's less air in the volume now) making it so neither does much of anything, possible that the perfect mixture happens and the FAE ignites slightly faster.

It kind of works. It aids with distribution of particles but. That kind of pressure is likely to extinguish the initial flame though. I prefer explosive seals personally they seem to put out a good bit of flame and would likely serve as secondary ignition if it went out. I proposed mostly the same model for my charcoal bombs.

Also sorry about the funny. Phone posting is hard with sausage fingers.

huh. Either way though, I'm leaving in the warning; the consequences of being wrong about higher explosive power include third degree burns.

In this case the power is about 80% likely to be nullified but have a 20% chance to hit detonation instead of deflagration. That means more shockwave but less air deprivation due to the fuel being consumed or snuffed out over a smaller distance.

@eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail Don't wanna be that guy but uh bumping for visibility:

@eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail There is a thing I'm confused about. The Jonin moved to the kitchen before turning around to face us. Then she activated Hozuki's Mantle to protect herself from Minami's attack, before killing her.

The reason I'm confused is because Hozuki's Mantle is a technique that works at a 270 degree angle, with the open 90 degrees in front of the user. This means that the Jonin's defense would only provide cover from behind and the sides: in this case it would make no sense for Hozuki's Mantle to protect her from Minami because there is no water in front of her.

Even with the obvious answer (the Jonin decided to turn ≥45 degrees to the side) there are still issues:
  • From the description of combat Minami would have needed to be 2m away from the enemy Jonin to have "met" the defense, instead of it forming around her and blasting her back, or trapping her (disclaimer: I don't know what would happen if Hozuki's Mantle activated while someone was within its radius). Why, then, would she have swung downwards from such a distance?
  • Hozuki's Mantle has a 2m radius; given the tight confines of a dining room/kitchen corridor I don't know if this is even possible to form without obstruction (walls, furniture...).
  • Hozuki's Mantle is described as being slow to move, and while a high TacMove does counter this it still raises the problem of how the ninja managed to turn to the side (to block Minami's attack), then cross the 2m distance to kill Minami without the Mantle catching on something.
Edit: Also, MC bonuses ought to apply.

Edit2: On second thought, maybe not MC bonus, it would be a tight fit.

Note that you'd need to dispel the bigger dome before activating the new one, since solid objects in the way block Air Domes from forming iirc

Well, technically...

Any matter that is too dense (limbs, tree branches, large amounts of water, sufficient numbers of bugs) in the area where the dome would form prevents seal activation

As currently written, domes care about density, not state. Air domes solidify air, but its density remains unchanged. This makes sense: a section of air being solid shouldn't prevent it from being solid.

My pretty sure guess: The jounin is long gone and there will be no opsec problem. That said, I am not willing to risk Hazō and skywalkers falling into enemy hand.

I like this. Have a vote and a list of things we can do for the speed option.

[X] Action Plan: Blow this popsicle stand (Speed)

Non Binding Suggestion List for Blow this popsicle stand

  • While in the house:
    • Dispel
    • Henge into ourselves without poison - should delay any poison damage
    • Misterators in the building - make sure there are no henged ninja nearby
    • Living Roots Technique to check for enemies lying in wait for ambush outside the house
    • Put Minami in storage scroll
      • Take her seals off her person first - no need for seal-pocalypse yet
    • Use MEW and directional explosives to sculpt a charged blast for escape purposes
      • If there may be enemies outside, arm at least 2 - one pointed towards the enemies, one away, ideally more if we have enough explosives.
    • Reset an Air dome barrier for extra defense when we blow holes in the walls
    • Prepare purifiers and tunneler's friends to be able to breath through smoke
    • Prepare banshee slayers for use if we need to drop ear busters
    • Blow a holes in the walls and initiate leaving sequence.
  • While exiting the house:
    • Send clones through each opening we made in the house armed with misterators and fire-log macerators
    • Have the clones attach misterators to the outside of the building to provide mist cover
    • Have the clones lay down a trail of mist via misterators, followed by exploding themselves with the fire-log macerators
    • Have Noburi check through the mist for chakra signatures: draining everything he senses dry
    • Run through the opening farthest away from any suspected enemy combatants and immediately run through the smoke upwards, throwing additional AOE fire-log macerators to the ground
    • Have clones run out of the smoke into the forest (laying a false trail, buying time to flee into the sky)
  • While running through the sky:
    • Get above clouds if possible
    • Don't stop
    • Go towards the meeting place for Akane's group
  • When reporting with Akane's group:
    • Explain everything we did, including our escape methods and Minami's death
    • Suggest immediately sending a report to Jiraiya
    • Accept Akane's leadership (she was Minami's chosen second in command)
  • "Misterators in the building - make sure there are no henged ninja nearby" Why Henged ninja specifically? Why not non-Team Uplift ninja?
  • "Living Roots Technique to check for enemies lying in wait for ambush outside the house" There could be ninja inside the house, out of sight.
  • "Prepare purifiers and tunneler's friends to be able to breath through smoke" Add need to breathe through poison, which the house is still full of.
  • "Blow a holes in the walls and initiate leaving sequence" Leaving sequence ≠ When exiting the house. A minor technicality, yes; but...

@eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail So we were considering walled roads and the creation of reusable Simple Earth Wall seals -- and came to the question of whether seals in general need recharged on chakra -- for instance, does a storage seal ever run out of charge?

More specifically, we're interested in knowing whether infusing a seal which manages to replicate a MEW would spend chakra roughly equivalent to using MEW on our own.

Tally to see where we stand:
*tallies*

Oh dear. And here I almost put "jk" or something in my example plans. Here's hoping we don't all die if Blow this popsicle stand (Speed) wins.

@faflec/QMs/Others: if BtPS (OPSEC) really is meant to be the same except for the singular difference of putting a high priority on not using skywalkers, could we just do that? Maybe change the base plan to say "Do what BtPS (Speed) <link> says, except manage as best as possible without using skywalkers within anything resembling sight of the enemy"? The iffy thing is that the how of it is a bit in-depth in the plan itself right now, more appropriate to a NBS than a plan body. I'm not sure if we're ready for cascading sets of NBS, though... :o

Myself I'm a bit leery of modular plans, but this seems it might be a convenient exception given that it's just the single difference.
