Yeah, I bet these old-fashioned Leaf sealmasters love to pat themselves on the back about how much they respect Jiraya, but if we were to belt out a ribald paean to his sexual prowess, they would look down upon it as uncouth. For shame!

Hazō revealing a lot about how his mind on SSA works in this interview. He's about to be recommended for a promotion to very special Jōnin.
 
So, currently we're waiting to hear back about a few different things (e.g. Hidan possibly helping us with the investigation into Akane's probable death, other news regarding that investigation, Orochimaru's possible kidnapping of Ren). Do we have anything in particular people want to do until then? In the main timeline, that is. There's also the conclave, which hopefully we can get wrapped up and resynchronized relatively soon. If EJ and Velorien would be willing to write conclave chapters until we're caught up to the main timeline I think that would be good.

We made it! Really really nice to see Hazou finally reach special Jounin. And at an age this young, the accomplishment is no doubt going to be remembered in stories about him, whether that be the bingo books or ninja-wikipedia after we're done revolutionizing the world.

Come to think of it, Hazou's been pretty low-key about his sealing talents as far as Leaf is concerned. Sure, he's credited for Skywalkers alongside Kagome, but I don't think he's drawn all that much attention to himself as a research sealmaster in his own right. This promotion might blindside quite a lot of people around Leaf.

Well, yeah, he's gotta get good enough at sealing that he can provide Leaf seals without disadvantaging his own clan.
 
The guest list probably needs trimming, but I trust the QMs not to pull in more folks than they want, and some carousing feels in order.

    • Get a few folks together.
      • Run the guest list by Mari to make sure we aren't snubbing anyone, ruffling feathers, making enemies, or pissing off allies.
        • This is informal: we're going around to clan compounds/sending messengers asking if people want to celebrate with you, not sending out save-the-dates or organizing an event.
      • Definitely invite: Noburi, Kei, Snowflake, Yuno, Ino, Shino, Shikamaru, Tenten.
      • Have Kei invite Ami, if she's in Leaf.
      • With approval from other people: Sasuke, Hinata, Choji, Naruto, Lee, Neji, Ruri, Aika.
    • Carouse on the order of magnitude of getting your Bachelor's: don't go crazy, but take an evening to eat, drink, dance, play games, that sort of stuff.
    • Tone: we're excited we did something cool and we want to share that.
    • Don't gloat: don't want to ruffle any feathers.
    • Goal: genuinely celebrate, but try to build and solidify relationships, too.
  • Have a separate celebration with Harumitsu and Kagome later.
    • If Mari approves, invite Manjiro, too.
  • Seal research:
    • The next Minato seals. Let HazoPilot determine the appropriate degree of caution.

I recommend adding Ami to the invite list. It's Vel's update, and if we don't invite her, she'll bend probability to show up anyway.

Is she back in Leaf yet? Last I heard she was on her way and would talk more about Akane and A-Day on arrival.

...maybe we shouldn't invite her. If she'll bend probability to show up anyways, that potentially shaves some time off her schedule and gets her back quicker!

    • Sell ES-Sourced iron to the Tower to help with the shortage.

      • Show him ES-Sourced iron. We humbly request that he assess the quality of this ore. Properly processed, would it be suitable for use by Leaf's smiths? Would he be interested in partnering with us to ensure it is processed correctly? We lack his years of knowledge and close relationships with the metalworking community.
        • If he asks, deflect by moving on to the next point.
      • Commission two new spears from him, for Yuuma.
        • One made of high quality ES-iron (if it gains his approval), and other such very good/expensive materials (Meta-Goal: A spear so good that it has invokable Aspects related to its craftsmanship)
        • One made using corundum/corundum blends (Meta-Goal: an even better spear with invokable aspects related to both craftsmanship and material makeup).
  • Atomu
    • You're an experienced ninja. Draft up a list of top five items every ninja should have in the field, get it approved by Mari, and then work with Mio about incorporating survival kits containing those items into the Akane Seal Bank, to be available upon request.
    • Idle Suggestion, feel free to dismiss: meet with Kei to negotiate a joint KEI/Goketsu project on supplying these?
      • For example: Goketsu provide Arachnid Silk Rope in these kits (more durable than hemp, quieter if brushed against something).
      • Emphasize: Ultimately, you've been a ninja for longer than we have. We trust your judgement.
