We need to stop at the Conclave and tell Enma there's an emergency that requires Asuma's immediate attention. When one of Leaf's CE summoners appears, Enma will tell them and they will immediately unsummon and inform Asuma. Hazō can check the conclave every twenty minutes to see if Asuma has arrived.

I mean, assuming he's not going on the mission he won't be getting updates after they leave save via Seventh Path.
Hazou would be very useful on this mission. Dog trackers would be very helpful in tracking down Akane

Also, another idea. When we inform acting!Hokage Naruto, we should tell him about the Hag clerk delaying the report. Preventing anyone from knowing an ally needs help for several days can be lethal, and it needs to be investigated if this was deliberate malice or extreme incompetence. Ask him to take her into custody for a few hours while we wait to contact Asuma, who we will ask for permission for Ino to perform a mind scan.

Use the Inuzuka. They specialize in this exact sort of mission. There's no need to take the massive risk that is sending out Hazō personally, especially since signs point to this being a trap for him.

Signs don't really point to that. It points more to Asuma and Hagoromo personally. It'd be a better trap if it were further outside the Leaf.

Swamp of Death is pretty far outside of Leaf proper.FYI, we are considering this map to be canon. Your swamp is in the northwest corner of Fire, roughly where that upside-down-Y-shaped river splits.
On Discord @Velorien said it was 4 hrs of travel time to get to where Akane was sent, that's inconsistent with it being out past the Swamp of Death.
It would really be helpful if the QMs would resolve this discrepancy before planning ends

The Swamp is like ~150ish miles from Leaf much further than 4 hours of running. It's been stated in an update that Otafuki Gai is about 50 miles from Leaf, and that fork in the river is about 3x that distance on the map.
It's unfortunate because we are discussing summoning the Toad Sages in Leaf to send with the rescue team. And Having Noburi buy the chakra to sustain them while they search. That's sustainable for 4 hours but not 10 so it really matters.

PSA: Clarification on Akane's mission location
After Loremaster intervention and extensive discussion, we have determined that there was a misunderstanding about the Wakare Woods' location relative to the Swamp of Death. The Woods are located roughly above the RE in "FIRE COUNTRY" on the MfD map, 4 hours' travel from Leaf. The Swamp of Death is roughly on the border with Rock, over 30 miles away. The update will be edited accordingly.

This is really good. A couple suggestions, can we bring up the idea here that this might have been done to bait Hazou into a trap? That's why we want to bring the Sages for extreme firepower.
Secondly, I think we should send Mari as team leader not Yuno. I think both of them should go ofc, but I want to send Mari. She's retired but I think she'd be happy to help here. The whole clan can just leave Leaf for a day.

On another note, I do agree with Sir Stompy's proposal above to send Mari as team leader: she's in the know about EM Nukes (so she knows how important figuring out what Akane is doing), is a competent fighter so we don't have to worry about her getting bit, and is very very skilled at detecting bullshit so on the off-chance it was Asuma she has the best chance of looking at the murder scene and realizing that it was him and not his convenient patsy.
Do we need to rally the entire clan? I mean, as opposed to the major forces (Mari, Noburi, Yuno et al)?
Query: Should we be focused more on figuring out what happened?
Maybe change to "Bring a Summoner for Seventh Path communications"? Also, I think this bullet point should be tabbed so it's part of the "Assemble the team" section.
I would clarify that it's via Seventh Path, and not us sending a runner over.
I would question whether these recalcitrant resources are worth tapping into, unless we are out of other options. Might be worth adding that tidbit.

I strongly agree with the proposal for Mari to lead the search party. I trust her much more than Yuno to do a good job and not start a war. I'm a little worried Yuno would start a war. And Mari has much more of a track record for leadership.

Fuck that. A Hagoromo abused their position within the Tower to prevent aid from being sent to Leaf nin - specifically one senior Goketsu and three promising KEI genin - as needed. This goes to the Clan Council, because the Hagoromo just escalated to the point of sabotaging Leaf missions to murder political rivals. We tell the other clans to handle this shit - which they will, because this is crossing a red line for everyone - and we grab as many tracking specialists as we can to find Akane with a parting remark about consulting on possible retributions with Orochimaru if she is harmed.

No matter your preferred punishment, this is definitely Clan Council Business, which ironically helps, because we can throw it to them, make vague allusions about 'what if the Hagoromo decide you stray from their orthodoxy and leave your children to die on missions without support' then fuck off to find Akane and superturbomurderkill whatever has prevented her from making it back.
Nah, we aren't waiting to gather the Clan Council before we go after Akane, it can wait until we get back.

I expect them to arrive more slowly and I don't want to out-and-out optimize/sanity check with them more than is inherent in their assistance in the planning process.

Akane is missing. I'm not worried about having too many cooks in the kitchen because people will shut the fuck up if that's becoming a problem.
If you had to pick between knowing what happened and either retrieving Akane or finding out where she is, which would you prefer? Finding her is the focus. Figuring out what happened is a necessary component of that.
