[X] Interlude: Team Akane's First Mission
I don't think we need permission to do this. We can just throw seals out the window.
The bottleneck isn't money: it's time on the part of everyone who can teach sealing.
I suspect this would get a flat-out refusal because working with another village is too novel a concept.
What element is it? Buying a hacker's time is probably going to be the best idea. If we can make it into something a genin can learn cheaply and then add a bonus to till 'n fills for knowing it, that solves the problem.
IMO an issue is that this really powers up Goketsu. We should talk to Naruto about it - we know he cares and we can pitch it as an investment opportunity for him. 'you and your clones help out and you get half the profits in perpetuity'
This is a bioseal, Hazou doesn't have the stunt for biosealing.Paperclipped said in the discord that HDK if it would be possible to make a seal that would keep a chakra beast or person unconscious and that we could spend a prep day to find out if it would be possible/difficulty
Me: "Could we make a non bioseal "stay down" seal?"This is a bioseal, Hazou doesn't have the stunt for biosealing.
Your link is broken; I'm presuming you want this one?
Can't do 6. That one came up before and bad things happenedIf you guys are willing, could you please let me know what you think of my uplift proposal:
LeafUpliftProposal-V0
More Food, Less Dying Leaf fundamental resources: Ninja Chakra (since Noburi allows transfer) Food Threats: Chakra beast attrition Enemy nations S-Rank ninja Dragons With the advent of AMITY, war seems unlikely in the short term. While S-Rank ninja are always a threat, the best counter is to ...docs.google.com
It's made as a proposal for Asuma.
Associated action item list:
- Allow the Gōketsu to donate seals to genin for immediate needs.
- Support/finance the creation of a safety first focused sealing school/ninja track and (small) production centers so we can properly equip our genin. "Explosive seals like kunai"
- Help find trade goods/setup trade deals with 7th path clans, especially those that can provide cheap food at reasonable prices. If a suitable chakra source can be found, expand that into military contracts that are regularly used for infrastructure and chakra beast suppression.
- Try to get more of the Wakahisa clan working with Leaf and helping establish more/expand Koi ponds.
- Try to improve the Motoyoshi fertility jutsu for large scale use.
- Try to find more ways to transfer chakra to eliminate our single failure point.
- Put a strong effort into finding/domestication of chakra beasts (perhaps wild Koi) that can be used to fuel Leaf's economy/military
- If sufficient chakra can be sourced, deploy summons, MARI and Motoyoshi fertility jutsu to exterminate chakra beasts, connect towns and boost Leaf agricultural production over wide areas.
- Use the economic advantage and 7th path trade to gain soft power over other nation-states. (for players: while developing and using uplift tools in a very public way that is going to make it impossible for them to stay secret long term)
They'd be captured by the Pangolins and killed probablyShouldn't we be trying to get the condors who actually fought the dragons that come in the speak to
Remind me why are we working with these genocidal Assholes lizard looking lizard looking bastards
Because they border nearly all the clans in the eastern half of the continent and were willing to get all of them in one place at Kei's say-so. We got the Rats here, the Turtles, the Frogs and the Mara and we're even close enough to Snake and Monkey. Even if Pantsaa wasn't an Essie in his own right who I'd be happy to throw at a Dragon for multiple reasons, hosting the Conclave in Pangolin is by far our best shot at amassing as much force as possible.Remind me why are we working with these genocidal Assholes lizard looking lizard looking bastards
This does not make sense. You cannot have a seal that directly interfaces with someone's nervous system, wave your hands, and say "this is not a bioseal". It's a bioseal.Me: "Could we make a non bioseal "stay down" seal?"
Paper: "HDK"
Me: "Kk"
Paper: "Prep day if you want the difficulty"
I am very unconvinced that saying this publicly, as part of a grand speech, is a good idea. The Pangolins aren't going to like it, they might punish their Condor slaves just for positively acknowledging Conjura.Introduce a Condor to the Arachnid mites: their Empress is excited to meet the legendary Conjura, who will be instrumental in defeating the Dragons. Can they discuss her prowess in battle with the mites, to relay to Kumokogo?
Also, Kei's kinda bound to them long term.Because they border nearly all the clans in the eastern half of the continent and were willing to get all of them in one place at Kei's say-so. We got the Rats here, the Turtles, the Frogs and the Mara and we're even close enough to Snake and Monkey. Plus, we're planning to use the Crusade as a way to pull the rug out from under them and end the Condor subjugation. Just because it's an ugly situation doesn't mean we can't make the best of it.
Actually, re: restraining seals, I had an idea a while ago: Air Dome, but it solidifies all the air inside it. To break it would be a Physique roll, and probably one harder than it would be to break normally, given it'd surround your whole body (and potentially lungs, depending on ruling), with increasing penalties from lack of air. This does not make sense. You cannot have a seal that directly interfaces with someone's nervous system, wave your hands, and say "this is not a bioseal". It's a bioseal.
You could make a seal to restrain people. I suggested a seal that drops a cone of hardened air on someone, but anything that interacts with a nervous system directly is a bioseal.

In private, where we have the reasonable expectation of not being overheard, fine. But this will most likely be taken as public disrespect by the Pangs.
You sure about that, boss? I predict the result of bringing it up will be a thousand word Kei doom-rant and nothing else. IMO better to leave it alone until we can start taking concrete action. Also, Kei's kinda bound to them long term.
We need to work on getting her a better boss, but that's a long term project. Probably one we should talk to her about, though.
I mean. She appears to be working at it herself. It might be something worth asking Mari and potentially Shikamaru about -- the idea being that if she operates without knowledge of the coup attempt against him, she might get out of it without problems... hm.You sure about that, boss? I support not triggering Kei doom-rants. They are depressing to read and inaccurate in terms of predictions. I read so many doom-rants about how she would never see Ami again. Yet look at where we are now.I mean. She appears to be working at it herself. I don't think Snow's memories are very intelligible to Kei at this point. They keep diverging more.Actually, we should ask Snowrflake if she knows of any way to make sure that a memory doesn't transfer back to Kei
A save-or-die Physique roll, I like it. Were you thinking 50 for the TN? Or something higher? Regular TN for breaking an Air Dome is 40.Actually, re: restraining seals, I had an idea a while ago: Air Dome, but it solidifies all the air inside it. I was thinking probably between 44 and 50. Even if the dome is the same "toughness" it's much harder to shatter something by pushing outward than by striking it.I support not triggering Kei doom-rants. They are depressing to read and inaccurate in terms of predictions. I read so many doom-rants about how she would never see Ami again. Yet look at where we are now.
Seems pretty low priority to me tbh, maybe Pantsaa will get himself killed in the Dragonwar. That would be convenient.

TLitF also works.

Before asking Mari to TLITF someone, recall that what you are actually asking is effectively "hey, would you please give yourself a little bit of brain damage for me? Cool, thanks."I support not triggering Kei doom-rants. They are depressing to read and inaccurate in terms of predictions. I read so many doom-rants about how she would never see Ami again. I do have answers to that, you will be pleased to know:As to literally any save-or-die seal: before you ask about it, it's a good idea to have a plausible answer for "why does this not exist yet?" Any easy instant win button is going to have been found by someone in the last thousand years.
