I can't wait for
  • ✅ Akane to have another existential crisis
  • yet more civilizations to be reduced to rubble before us
  • our OPSEC to immediately fail and the team to be assassinated
  • ✅ Hazō to leak this to Asuma and result in the permanent loss of our autonomy
  • the nuke to turn sentient as our teacher warned
Two down, at least one more on the way.

My point is that the jutsu he's giving us aren't going to be the type Hazou can make superweapons into; they'll be the type that people have experimented on extensively and the effects beyond well-established.

Alternatively, he'll have someone minding Hazou throughout everything.
I think this is an overly pessimistic view. We can make this work to our advantage with regards to Uplift. My only concern is for Akane, really, who will probably hate herself again.

The Hagoromo are probably in for a surprise the next time they look at us funny, too.

My current action plan.

Something quick since voting closes tomorrow.

[X] Action Plan: Release the Gs
Wordcount: tbd
  • Send Akane, as ordered
  • Go to Gaku, tell him to start an accounting of what the clan would need to move estates.
  • Kagome: we're alive and unharmed, but did a thing, without meaning to. Prove our identity to his satisfaction, and then ask for a hug. We really put our foot in it, sensei.
  • Noburi: Hey, you said you wanted to focus on medical skills and your bloodline. Want an apprenticeship with Tsunade? We did a thing, so it's already been paid for.
  • Go to Ino, ask that she help Akane. We did a thing. Maintain censorship and opsec.
  • When Mari returns...
    • Explain to Mari what happened under maximum opsec environment. Begin with Asuma's disclaimer. If she thinks we're safe to read her in fully, then read her in fully. If not, then give her a censored version of events.
    • Ask Mari to help Akane out. We were the ones who did this to her. Akane won't want to see our face, let alone receive comfort from us.

I'm aware that you [to the group of 'managers'] believe in ~90+% of scenarios, we can navigate our way through it.

But I hope we're aware that the bottom 10-50% of outcomes, FMPOV, are now "Asuma/ANBU gets the nuke and goes on a rampage."

And I also hope we realize - we have no effective constraints to keep him from doing it anymore.

Yes we do.

We currently have the only EM nuke.

All we have to do is detonate it first.

And Asuma knows that.

Well, Hazou said he'd never order Akane to use it, and that he trusted her judgement when it comes to using it

This would uh be the first test of that. Cuz after this the control slips away forever

Also, there's another way we can stop Asuma from using EM nukes, without having to kill anyone.

We simply have to convince the QMs that EM nukes don't actually work, leading to a grue.

    • She's helped Akane before, and has given us good advice in the past.
    • She also understands agency intimately, and can empathize easily.
      • Snowflake, too, if she's willing?
    • Akane won't want to see our face right now, let alone receive comfort from us.

HAZŌ: It's OK, Akane. It's not really your fault those 600 civilians are dead.

AKANE: Yes, it is. I distinctly remember... butchering them with my bare hands?

HAZŌ: What are you talking about, you definitely... huh. [backs away slowly]

Akane's 40 is moved to Melee Weapons. She's been training under Satsuko.

Your tone is becoming increasingly antagonistic. I would like to politely request that you cease.
You disagreeing with my takes is not me being antagonistic. Me being sad about what happens in the story is not me being antagonistic.

I double-checked my posts in this thread, because I do care about my effect here, and people have been certainly ruder to me than I have to them. There is one case I stepped over the line in a conversation with Inferno, and I immediately apologized for that. Otherwise I have been perfectly civil, unlike (eg.) the "questionable mental calisthenics" that have been levied at me.

In don't know your thread history. But what I'm seeing now is something that I can only believe to be the actions of someone trying to be as passively antagonistic as possible for it's own sake. So I am once again asking you to cease your current operations.

[X] Armageddon Initiative

In the order:
  • Tell Akane to see Asuma, as per orders.
  • When Mari gets back, Hazou tells her to manipulate Akane into casting EM Nuke again, in Leaf.
  • Hazou hides in the Seventh Path until the nuke passes.
  • Hazou hunts down and kills the Aida Clan exiles, then kills all of Isan.
  • Hazou commits seppuku.

I demand Akane receive TYS points from this.
Wish granted. +2 TYS points to everyone's favourite idealist.

I literally cannot conceive of a plan that it is less appropriate to call Armageddon Initiative.
