... this isn't the same thing as agreeing to do so...Mari acknowledges Hazō's preference with regard to acting on her own.
Ahh, just how I like it.Mari thinks that asking Ami to optimise her own persuasion was sheer lunacy and can't believe it wasn't an unmitigated disaster that would have made the whole situation so much worse.
Sheer lunacy?
Sheer lunacy that leaves everyone baffled how it didn't turn into an unmitigated disaster.
Well, that's about as clear cut as it gets.• Kagome believes that Ami must be killed immediately, before she can take any hostile action against Mari.
[X] Armageddon InitiativeWell, that's about as clear cut as it gets.
When are we blowing her up?![]()
Actually, entertaining as the image of Hazō holding off hordes of hyena raiders by waving his cane at them menacingly is, the patrols only start once the Consequences have healed.Hmm, I wanted to do some 7th path exploring/diplomacy this update but I guess the hyena patrol punishment kinda puts a damper on that
we could still do that, nothing better than a wounded prey to bait them..Actually, entertaining as the image of Hazō holding off hordes of hyena raiders by waving his cane at them menacingly is, the patrols only start once the Consequences have healed.
Kei has made her will known, she doesn't want Mari killed. Of course Ami could trick her still, but I don't think she'd deliberately go against Kei like thatHey, you know how we have a homicidal jounin who hates Mari in the clan (besides Mari herself, I mean), and whom we made sure to tell Ami about? And you know how Ami might still be planning to kill Mari without implicating herself?
We have until the rest of the clan finally teaches Yuno to ignore our orders.
Fair point. Unless Yuno also decides that she knows better than Kei what's best for Kei. She didn't have her turn yet, did she?Kei has made her will known, she doesn't want Mari killed. Of course Ami could trick her still, but I don't think she'd deliberately go against Kei like that
I did wonder why you excluded her from the meeting.Hey, you know how we have a homicidal jounin who hates Mari in the clan (besides Mari herself, I mean), and whom we made sure to tell Ami about? And you know how Ami might still be planning to kill Mari without implicating herself?

I can't speak for anyone else who considered it but didn't speak up, but personally I wasn't sure having her and Mari in one place discussing something that polarizing was wise
"Annoyed", predominantly, almost as if she did not take well to being threatened for reasons that were unreasonable and made no sense. Conspicuously not sharing all her thoughts. I think her distinct emotional responses were covered in the update.@Velorien, what was Mari's demeanour during the discussion? Was she calm? Annoyed? Resigned? Thoughtful? Thoughtful and conspicuously not sharing her thoughts? Something else? Any particular emotions in response to any particular topics?
Right, OK we need to order Mari to not take any action that could conceivably be taken as an attack on Ami, at least until Kei and Ami have their little chat."Annoyed", predominantly, almost as if she did not take well to being threatened for reasons that were unreasonable and made no sense. Maybe Hazō is just that hot 🤷♀️Sheer lunacy that leaves everyone baffled how it didn't turn into an unmitigated disaster.
Or, we could direct her to make preparations for such an attack, that themselves do not constitute an attack even under the most broad definition. This should, at once, find an outlet for her anger, and position us well if Kei's discussion with Ami goes poorly.Right, OK we need to order Mari to not take any action that could conceivably be taken as an attack on Ami, at least until Kei and Ami have their little chat.
Strap Ami to a skyslider and send her out towards the ocean... I mean, if no-one ever finds the body...We never got to see the skyslider presentation to Asuma, did we? Maybe we can squeeze a cool and lighthearted scene into this update.
Harumitsu a good kid who deserves better masculine role models than the Hagoromo.
Without discussing your actual point (which I largely agree with), I'd like to remind you that there are plenty of "good" Hagoromo out there. You've been seeing only the ultra-orthodox and you're painting the whole community with that brush, to the point where you're using their name as a quasi-slur.Younger Hagoromo are divided between the orthodox faithful, those enjoying the moral superiority while only paying lip service to the actual ideals, and those earnestly (and quietly) struggling to reconcile teachings from centuries ago with a reality that no longer quite fits, though it's hard for an outsider to tell which is which.
On the whole, Mari considers them to be somewhere between the Hyūga and the Akimichi. They are judgemental and bigoted, but they are not blood purists, and the average clansman considers a sincere effort to follow the Will of Fire in all things to be a tolerable second best to living according to the letter of the scripture.
