The Aburame have increased their capacity slightly but don't know how to get from 5 pairs per month to 50 pairs per month and beyond.
We should ask whether they are using civilians to make the eyeglasses. If not, training civilians to do any part that doesn't require chakra would allow them to hire a lot of people, train them, and greatly increase production once they're fully trained.

There's now an actually decent argument in favour of Stonecarving 30 instead of 29, in that even though we'll roll a lower number overall we'll be able to shape 16 cubic meters instead of 8. We'll have to be making a scale model anyways, but less scaled is probably better if we can afford it.
I'm now imagining the reaction of Hidden Rock to finding out that Leaf has all of its sealmasters working on some massive three-dimensional sealing array that Rock's best sealmasters can't make heads or tails of.

@Insert made an observation on discord: This stone-shaping jutsu molds stone into a clay-like consistency. Deidara notably uses a pretty similar (but likely unrelated) explosive clay molding jutsu.

Still, it leads to some interesting thoughts. Hazou is the first person since the Sage (that we know of) to have seen a Solid Seal. Not only that, he downloaded the blueprints of one of the most powerful kinds into his brain. So:

1: Hazou can download solid seals and remember them instantly and perfectly with Iron Nerve
2: Hazou can theoretically shape solid seals with this new stoneshaping jutsu

The jutsu is noted to be pretty slow at the moment, but if we level it up there's no telling how it improves. Hazou could possibly shape seals mid-combat at a sufficient level, since he can pull them all from IN memory! This is a viable way for him to make Sealing his main offensive stat, with the Stoneshaping jutsu serving as an equivalent to Calligraphy.

WE MUST INVEST EVERYTHING IN THE DUMP STAT

Can't he already do it with paper seals? I'm all for investing everything in the mystery dump stat, but I'm not seeing the unique benefits in this specifically.

It is only better if upgrading this jutsu makes it faster than drawing out a seal. Even with IN drawing's too slow to do in a round. Otherwise it's mostly just a novelty or a cool trick. And no as far as I know none of our seals use Sealing as the attack stat. There's goo bombs but I don't think Hazou knows it

Since this is a timeskip, maybe consider adding a line for Hazo having a message sent to Tsunade that we've got a lead on a medical jutsu exchange, please meet with us at her convenience? I feel like this is a good opportunity to score points with her and she'd probably be upset if we took our sweet ass time informing her.

added, but I'm not super stoked by the fact that the offscreen segment has become larger than the actual scenes. This isn't even a matter of delegation, like even if we were to pass this off to Noburi for instance it takes up space to tell him about it. Might just wrap a bunch of it up in "Hazou reports relevant things from last update, clanmates act on information" tbh. It means the QMs can largely just ignore it unless we choose to ask about it later and we don't get punched in the face down the line for "neglecting a plotline".

What do yall think?

Word Count: 291
  • Timeskip to Condor Scout report being confirmed.
    • Offscreened minutia during this time:
      • Have clanmates visit Hazou's office more regularly. Delegate where possible, show that you learn from mistakes.
        • Update them on 7th Path situation, disseminate to relevant parties. Follow relevant OPSEC.
        • Akane: Monitor Haru. Involve Sakura/Haru's family where appropriate.
        • Provide bison to the Tower. Ensure the food reaches civilians.
          • Mari: Should we ask for debt reduction in exchange?
        • Covertly search for jutsu that temporarily increase mental fortitude (Resolve).
          • Query Cannai, and the Toad/Pangolin Bosses by proxy.
          • Ask Kei to search Leaf Library. Ask Yuno about (non-secret) Isan jutsu.
      • Learn stonecarving jutsu, refine the Great Seal's model. Concurrently, teach Harumitsu.
      • Decipher Karasu letters.
      • Teach Arachnids to use Seals, if willing. Implosion Seals may be capable of damaging Dragon lungs when detonated near their chests.
        • Negotiate trade to obtain silk. Offer raw goods, medicine, books, etc.
  • Invite Ami to play ninja Jenga. Show off your cool hair.
    • It's been a while. How was The Ami's date with Naruto?
    • Thank her for the Karasu letters. Fun puzzle.
    • Update her on the DRAGONWAR. Provide the Bosses' feedback to her idea. Ask for improvements and additional advice.
      • Additional concern: Mobilizing Summons through uncooperative territory (example: Cat).
  • Bosses:
    • Follow Enma's lead, let Bosses call for a Conclave. Don't attend without Cannai to protect you.
    • Rehearse the Crusader idea with the Leaf Summoners in advance. Bosses should know what to expect.
    • Kumokogo believes it'll take 2-3 Bosses to defeat one Dragon. With 6 Dragons, we should aim to gather 12+ Bosses, or a force of equivalent strength. Getting hesitant clans' cooperation is crucial to the survival of 7th/all paths.
      • Ideally, we'd engage Dragons one-by-one, but we should prepare for the worst.
This works for me, let me know what you think.

I would say it's important enough that I would swap it in for the debt reduction we ask from Asuma in return for the bison meat. I think we should leave it to his discretion.

Paper blanks take 5 min to draw, per element. Not possible mid combat. We can do mid combat infusions, but there's no reason to ever do that. Maybe for a seal that was so dangerous to have around we couldn't keep it infused for long periods of time.

I worry that too much delegation will mean that important things get accomplished purely through NPC agency, or at least without enough player agency, trivialising the achievement and making the quest less meaningful.
Ahh but since we will have freed up our time from boring administration work it allows us to go on adventures! I'm sure we could convince Ami to help us on some of them. Think of the banter that could happen while we play social dominance games while at the same time fighting for our lives

The mini-chuunin exams... didn't they already run their course (@faflec?), and in any case not really our concern beyond funding?
"As you know, Ebisu-sensei and the Hokage have had something of a wager for several months now...something about a 'mini Chūnin Exam'? It should have been done some time ago, but there were delays for various reasons. The 'Exams' will be happening shortly, although a precise date has not been chosen yet.
Really sorry for the late response, I was figuring stuff out. The above quote was from Chapter 403 (10/26) and it is currently 11/24. Chances are the Exams have finished by now, though the fact that they were delayed with no precise date chosen may have changed things somewhat.

Mari: Should we ask for debt reduction in exchange?
I know that we aren't actually doing it and are just checking to see if this is a good idea, but it...it kinda leaves a sour taste in my mouth at the idea of us
Akane: Monitor Haru. Involve Sakura/Haru's family where appropriate.
Why are we involving Sakura's family? She's not a Gouketsu, wasn't one of Noburi's top adoption candidates, and she barely even knows Haru (they met right before the Exams started, around a year ago, and I doubt they spent more than the ~1 month they were on a team together).
Follow Enma's lead, let Bosses call for a Conclave. Don't attend without Cannai to protect you.
Are Summoners supposed to attend, xor is this supposed to be Hazou attending in his position as one of the people who has actually seen the Great Seal/Dragons?

I mean, some compensation would be nice... but also we kinda caused it so in that regard... yeah, might just cut it.
Why are we involving Sakura's family?
Not sure how many friends Haru actually has, I was under the impression Sakura was one of them since they teamed together. It's how Akane became his friend after all. I think it's fine personally. If Akane thinks it's unnecessary she doesn't need to do it

I was imagining the Summoners would also be there, but I mostly just included that so we don't vote in Hazou going to this thing and then immediately getting kidnapped by Conjura or whatever

Getting kidnapped by Conjura sounds like a cool idea, though. There are all kinds of interesting deals we would be able to negotiate given some time alone with her and the excuse of being under duress. Do you think you could perhaps maybe do the opposite of ensuring Cannai is there to protect Hazou?

Right, but if we're telling Akane to keep an eye on Haru (in the sense of it being an order) it feels a lot like we're telling her to involve Sakura without providing much of an explanation why. My initial read of your plan involved me thinking we were going to scout her for adoption into the clan. Maybe instead we could write something like "Involve Haru's family/anyone he's still friends with" or something like that?

Fair enough, but maybe we could have that part be "Don't attend unless our safety is guaranteed." or something like that? It's not quite "Cannai is there to protect us", but if Cannai expects shit to not go down chances are things will not go down anyway.

I might also point out that in high-level ninja battles like a theoretical Cannai vs. Conjura battle, much-weaker entities like Hazou would get wrecked just from being in the splash zone, so the best defense in such a scenario is to not be present.

I am disappointed that we're not going to work on the underground garden idea to grow high value crops, but I understand that we're already doing a bunch of things.

Works for me
"Don't attend unless our safety is guaranteed."
That's fine

Yeah but as the giga dog Cannai likely has ridiculous Alertness, it could make or break Hazou getting the chance to reverse summon in time

When Akane rips you a new one for not punishing someone's fuckup enough.

When Akane escapes any and all responsibility and punishment from allowing the subordinate person she's "working closely with" to fuckup.

I'm just saying, I find it super weird the way the whole Haru thing went down.
