[X] Action Plan: Talk the Talk [183 words]

Can you have Hazou do the following?

  1. Ask Akane what her expectations are in a hypothetical relationship between them?
    1. Best to get on the same page, so that neither one of them become upset due to someone not meeting an unspoken expectation down the road. Just in case, since they're both still teenagers.
  2. Ask Akane what sort of relationship dynamic she'd be comfortable with.
  3. Hazou-pilot

Quick note: The dates in the chapter were a day off. They should have been July 27-31 but were originally posted as 26-30. Fixed.

[X] Action Plan: Talk the Talk [183 words]
  • Iron Mine
    • Make the relevant preparations for the expedition, departing as soon as Keiko and Noburi are available.
  • Koi
    • Set up meeting with Mari and Noburi
    • Tell them the situation and Hazou's reactions
    • Can we use this incident to ask for more concessions?
    • Do they think Wataru is trustworthy/competent? Would it be useful if Noburi supervised him?

This should go up to the hokage. We got a literal missing ninja from Mist and a potential diplomatic incident. Worst case scenario, a third party stole Wakahasia knowledge.

Seconding this, I would be more comfortable voting for this if Asuma is involved in the discussion, letting him know Mist might be trying to discredit Leaf or gain plausible deniability for asking for concessions or whatever. Gives him the opportunity to plot counter-propaganda maneuvers and so on, or boost Leaf's image by "helping in the search".

This is a strong symbiotic relationship we have with the QMs. There's no way it's a coincidence that as soon as we start talking about the Wakahisa and how we haven't seen them that they all the sudden show up.

Update takeaways:
-Iron Mine is going to be fun and important.
-Ideally we would spend next update tying up loose ends with the Wakahisa, Akane, and Mari about chocolate (and Amori grape update?) and then leave for the Iron Mine.
-We need to do something regarding the clanless ninja on our estate, and also figure out adoption slots. Atomu, Lee, Ami, and Noburi's B-list have all been floated as options various places. This sounds complicated, so maybe we leave it be for now since Hazo is thinking about it.

Ugh, I really want to adopt Sakura as my first choice, but now I'd feel bad after reading this chapter if we didn't do Reo and Atomu first ):

[X] It's An Emergency, Mr. Hokage.

Meet with the Hokage:
  • Sanity check with clan beforehand.
  • Bring Mari, Noburi.
  • Get a description of the lady and her escort.
  • Notifiy: A Wakahasia and her escort is missing. Already sent out a search party.
  • Speculation:
    • Worst case scenario: A third party kidnapping her for knowledge.
    • Chakra beast attack, getting lost, etc.
    • Lady is still alive. Wakahasia dragging their feet or command blunders.
  • Recommended actions: Inform Mist ambassadors and increase search parties ASAP

Summon path trade network:
  • Find out about the Condor and Porcupine summoner.
    • Talk to Mari about them or who we should talk to.
      • Personal history, missions, likes, hates, goals, ideologies, etc.

Misc:
  • Complete the chakdar seal(4-7 days)
  • Take out Candoru hunting in the forest of death.
    • Should be easy peasy test run.
  • Confer with Keiko on what time we'll be leaving for the mine.
  • Enable the koi pond.

Do we know what chakra beast Keiko's new pet is? Because if it's a feline and meets Kagome's pet... There might be chakra kittens.

    • Lady is still alive. Wakahasia dragging their feet or mistakes.
  • In any case, we should send out more search parties and immediately inform Mist ambassadors.

Summon path trade network:
  • Invite all other summoners. Make the same pitch to them.
  • Finalize details
    • Profit split
    • Introduction to merchants, etc.
    • Food safeties and other regulations.
      • Ex. Chocolate is a poison for doggos

Misc:
  • 4 days seal research.
  • Take out Candoru hunting in the forest of death.
    • Should be easy peasy test run.
  • Confer with Keiko on what time we'll be leaving for the mine.

Added summon path trade network and a misc section. For sealing, we will be doing at least 4 days of research.

We should probably optimize our social-battle plan with Mari first, rather than just dragging them into an impromptu meeting with the nation's parliamentary dictator... But other than that, looks good.

Also: Ami was just recently in Mist, right? Maybe she could shed some light onto their political atmosphere?

I'd say we as a hivemind start brainstorming what to do here (like just renting apartments on the estate and making our gimmick the "you're always welcome when you need a place to stay, if you help out" clan?), But waiting to address it until after the iron mine.

We could hire the civilians to help log the area around the mine to clear farmland, and do the same (plus digging up a trench) for the aqueduct? We could then post guard missions with the Tower.

As for the ninja, I don't think missing an arm, or being crippled would hurt your ability to become a sealmaster? I mean, some might have to relearn how to write with their offhand, and others might only be able to serve as consultants rather than do any practical work, themselves (nerve damage or other physical trauma that might make drawing seals impossible). But we could still train them as sealmasters in return for them becoming our own Goketsu Sealing Corps.

It might help them feel like they're "earning their keep," and that we're not going to kick them out on a whim.

Perhaps you have forgotten that there are three skills to being a sealmaster: Athletics, Sealing, and Calligraphy, in that order of priority.

Being able to draw and infuse seals is integral to a sealmaster. Otherwise, we could just train civilian theorists.
