And what percentage of our XP is it?I made a count of the chunin exam arc: It runs from 157 chapters all the way to chapter 252. This is defined very broadly. In other words, 95 chapters involved the chunin exam, the interim period, and the tournament proper, from September 10 2017 to March 13, 2019, or 546 days, involving 36% of story content .
To put this into perspective, the story began on December 10, 2015 to the latest chapter on May 17, 2019, which is 1254 days. The chunin exam took 43% of quest time to play out.
An exceptional insight into Shikamaru's nightmares.SHIKAMARU: All right, everyone here has stuff to do so let's get this over with. Goketsu, will you marry me?
HAZOU: Okay.
SHIKAMARU: Great, step forwa--. What? Why are you here, Hazou? You can't get married on your sister's behalf, that is not how this works. Where is Keiko?
KEIKO: I am right here and I have been for the last ten minutes. Staring at you.
SHIKAMARU: Oh, that's... nice. So, uh, marry me? We really can't afford to waste this much ti--
NOBURI: *barges in* I accept. And sorry I'm late, I couldn't find my good tuxedo.
SHIKAMARU: Cut it out, guys. This is serious business.
KEIKO: Are you implying we are not taking this seriously? All of us are here to marry you and you insult us? Not a good start, I'd say.
SHIKAMARU: ???
SHIKAMARU: The contract we made only involves you and me.
KEIKO: Yes.
SHIKAMARU: Good. Now step forward so we can finish the ceremony please.
*HAZOU, NOBURI and KEIKO all step forward*
SHIKAMARU: OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Take this seriously!
HAZOU: Excuse me? We are taking this seriously, it is you who keeps breaking decorum constantly and refusing to marry us already. I don't know how this works here in Leaf, but we have a rule where if your clan heads happen to die in foreign territory before the marriage goes through that you are required to marry everyone from the smaller clan - of the appropriate age range.
SHIKAMARU: ...this is a highly specific rule.
HAZOU: *shrugs* I don't make the rules, I just obey them because blind obedience to authority figures is how I was raised. So when you marry Keiko, you marry all of us.
AMI: *spontaneously appears behind SHIKAMARU* All of us. ^_^
Does that include all the intended and omake during the system redesign?I made a count of the chunin exam arc: It runs from 157 chapters all the way to chapter 252. This is defined very broadly. Given that XP are rewarded based on time and the hivemind's propensity to waste bonus XP, probably not as much as we hoped.
In fairness, that was four months of the quest being semi-on-hold with zero plot progression. If you took that out it would change the calculations quite a bit.I made no distinction between omake and canon in doing most of my calculation.

That's not quite the same though, because we've already paid for those words in the first plan. Overall it seems to lead to the same number of spoons as that plan being split over multiple votes. except the QMs get to pick exactly where the split is, so it seems like less spoons are used overall?Because that is just abusing the system. You could write a bunch of instructions in a Google doc and then make a plan that is "Follow the instructions in the linked Google doc". The plan in thread would have very little word count but the QMs wouldn't be happy with you.
Is Tenten a chunin? I thought promotions hadn't been officially given out yet, since we needed to ask Jiraiya for them. My understanding was that no one else had got their promotions before Nagi Island, so Tenten wouldn't have been eligible to take part.
The new chunins are the flower of youth and a new generation of leaders for Leaf. Sending them to the Battle of Nagi Island is like eating your seeds when you need it for the next planting season.
I don't think there are any chakra beasts in canon at all, intelligent or otherwise.
Tenten is not a chuunin. Those who fail to earn a promotion based on exam performance are not immediately promoted at home, since that would effectively be spitting in the face of the Chuunin Exam as a institution. Is Tenten a chunin? I forget what the reason was for introducing them, it being many RL centuries ago, but I suspect it was something to do with population numbers not making sense.Ah, I didn't realize that those were something invented for MfD. That's a big change.
It's been retconned. You don't know its condition since (though boy, do we).So what ended up the decision to correct Isan's population? Are we getting a retcon, did they get decimated via plague or chakra monsters, xor something else?
Sweet, so when we visited it had a population of...what, 500 or so?It's been retconned. You don't know its condition since (though boy, do we).
