There's two methods available for us: ninja or merchant caravan. The latter is really slow, something like a week or two. Shikamaru wanted to do the wedding ASAP. I am unsure if ninja courier service is available outside of diplomatic inquiry.

Swift resolution of key logistical and financial issues"; a marriage without the ceremony works just as well, given Jiraiya never formally got married to Mari yet we're still a clan.

Before leaving Mist the team made arrangements for several Mist merchants to travel to Leaf under ninja escort, presumably with Jiraiya and Ren's blessing. The ninja sent to escort them could carry the message, and Ami could officially be part of the Mist contingent of the escort. Perhaps as a preliminary scout. That gets her into Leaf under pre-established diplomatic cover and highlights Jiraiya's successful trade negotiations.

Call her a vanguard or scout. The merchants have never been to Leaf before. They're going to need somebody to certify accommodations and local prices before they arrive.
My major concern is that the current plan comes across as:
"Hey, Shikamaru! You need to tell Ami about the wedding for your own safety, so we'll do that for you and even get her into the city in exchange for twelve days worth of effort from you. By the way, you're going to need to figure all that out because we've got nothing beyond 'write a letter and hope for the best'".

Might the Pangolin blood gold allow us to also pay out the clan who are indebted ti the Hyuga, particularly if we focus on seal production?
Also a thought on IN accelerated sealing:
1. Make multiple accelerated attempts at scribing seals at the penalty normally.
2. Manually check the results. (Even 1 success out of 100 is fine.)
3. Use IN to duplicate the few or even one result(s) that produce success as the basis for rapid seal scribing.
