Clarification: Is this in reference to the Ghost Scales thing?

If so, who ever said anything about tags? Their unbounded speculation immediately associates any heard-but-not-seen explosions with explosive tags? Tsk tsk. Come now, children!

At the moment, the universe is in a state of quantum uncertainty. The waveform will only collapse when observed by an observer external to the system, and unfortunately both of those are currently away.

I'm reasonably sure she meant using tags during the smack talk in order to disrupt Kitty Kat.

You know, I would have agreed with this a few weeks ago. However, with Keiko's angry internal rant specifically including "And fuck Ami as well!", I'm not so sure anymore that she'd be thrilled with Ami going "Just a prank, sis! It was totally for your own good, and I didn't consider asking your opinion to be worthwhile.". If anything, it might make her even angrier and more belligerent.

She might be a bit more forgiving in a few years.

So uh, how do we catch the Keiko folks?

Is it time to tell her about the toy cats?

Keiko has little chakra remaining. Enough for a Substiution/PH/4 Point Chakra Boost... or Summoning Panda.

We could try to talk her down ("I am so sorry look Jiraiya is reallllly mad please come back before he has to do something drastic also it hurt Noburi's feelings please don't abandon us again!") and if she doesn't come then we ??? (Noburi and Hazou just knock her out?)
 
I don't see the issue, all we need is to murder one of Noburi's sisters and then all the competitors to our ascension to Clan Head will be out of service for Hazō-related reasons. Yes, that includes Naruto, whose capture wouldn't have happened without Skywalkers.

Also wow Noburi is so cool I wish the story could explore his character a bit more sometimes but we all know he's going to be relegated to the background again when the drama subsides. :p
 
Curse memes aside, I very much like how this update turned out. The Noburi sections were both great (we successfully apologized and shared our perspective with Noburi without just conceding ground and begging forgiveness, and then we got to watch Noburi handling his own social situation with aplomb and see fun new characters in the mix) and we got everything important covered to pave the path for the next couple of updates.

And our specific task right now is making Keiko not as sad anymore, which is the last major thing we saw in the original rendition of this chapter. Here's hoping we're successful this time around, too!
 
It was very satisfying.

NB: hawkczar's Jiraiya let us explore all the implications of Ami letters, while Vel's one threw every speculation in the plan right back to us. So, ej's Jiraiya alliws us to think for ourselves and only steps in to give guidance. Vel's Jiraiya is more strict and prefers to outrule us all mentory and wise. I wonder whether we can exploit this hurr hurr hurr
 
Would just telling Keiko that Jiraiya ordered her to remain on the human path for the time being work? She still cares about her duty a little bit, otherwise she either wouldn't be at the match or would have actually maimed Shino.
 
Hmmmm if she tries to exit stage right we can threaten (read: lie out our teeth) to Pandaa that we've been given unilateral authority to cancel the Pangolin deal if they facilitate Keiko's ability to neglect her responsibilities. Jiraiya did say "By any means necessary." , so this is technically allowed...
 
Tell her she needs to stay on the path, Jiraiya's expecting her. If we think she's still a flight risk, well, Noburi can drain her so she can't summon any Pangolins to flee with.

Clearly we're setting up to resolve this problem by antagonising Keiko. We don't need opponents to punch if our allies/family are punching us!
 
Yeah, just telling her Jiraiya wants her here should be sufficient without invoking any horrible knock on consequences.
