Why is that an issue though? With the existence of Shadow Clones and them not having any drawbacks in canon whatsoever except requiring chakra, I never understood why the Hokage kept complaining about having to do paperwork all day except because it's funny.

That can even explain away the fact that the Hokage himself was handing out D-Rank missions at the mission desk because it shows he cares about the new genin while he doesn't even have to present for real.

Well, requiring a clone of the hokage is still a real cost, right? that clone could be doing important things elsewhere, or not be formed so the Hokage has more chakra in case of an emergency. (Maybe there are dumb canon facts about shadow clone that make this not true.)

He died a mystery death.

Rumor has it he got jealous of Madara and hid in a cave to wait for one of his descendents to find him like Madara did with Tobi.

Except no one came for him because all the Senju either died or didn't care for him (Tobirama/Tsunade) so he died of loneliness.

The real question is: what was his wife Uzumaki Mito doing all the time?

Good call. Bear in mind that according to the best fan reconstruction of the canon timeline, Hiruzen was the Three's jōnin-sensei at the same time as running the village as Hokage.
Also, Kakashi did not become a genin until after he had done a bunch of missions. And also, didn't he become ANBU captain at age 10?

Could be that's actually someone else using an S-rank shapeshifting jutsu.

The canon rules for Shadow Clones are somewhat of a mess but one chapter heavily implies that unspent chakra from a Shadow Clone returns to the user (along with the memories) so having them do things that barely require energy like paper work or handing out missions is no big loss when you can recall them remotely and regain nearly all of the chakra.

(The chapter in question is the one where Naruto leaves up his Shadow Clones to gather nature chakra for him. If they could not transfer whatever chakra they have inside them this wouldn't have worked.)

How was that not clear?

Bear is where the cooking tournament is and it attracts all kinds of S-rank ninjas. It is customary to feast together at the end of each tournament day, and Kakashi got lost (as he does) trying to get to the team meeting spot academy and ended up in Bear.

They invited him to eat with them because he looked pretty pitiful (what with being ten years old), he accepted and he gained immense power from it.

This is also the real reason we don't go to Bear. It would break the power balance of the quest and make it too boring to play.

I vs think lbh this ner is ernqvat a guvf great vg idea. vf @eaglejarl nyernql and gbb I yngr would jr definitely ner enjoy fbeel writing cyrnfr something hfr so... lbhe complex erznvavat for gvzr a jryy change.
It is well known that the best way to get a playerbase with a significant number of rationalists and rationalist adjacent folks to do a particular thing, is to heavily imply that there is Knowledge That Cannot Be Known (on pain of insanity, death, "sudden cheese based reincarnation" or another suitably vague and terrible fate) somewhere along the way.

FTFY. Ask any GM.

I read a fic that explained it nicely.

Your clones are clones.

If so your the type of person that would make a clone instead of doing some work when you have a choice, then the work won't get done because the clone is the same type of person who will put off doing the work.

So presumably, if he really had to do two things at once, yes a clone will work, but using a clone to do "Chores" doesn't really work.

Sleep, motherfucker, do you speak it? :p

0. Have a mess that needs to be cleaned.
1. Decide to clean it.
2. Make as many clones as you think you need to finish the task while avoiding "too many cooks", minus one.
3. Clean with your clones.

If you need to split up tasks, don't give only one thing to clones, do a bit of everything in your real body occasionally.

Aren't TYS points supposed to become exponentially harder to get the higher they are due to the fact that you have seen so much shit and are now used to all but the most traumatizing stuff?

Also, 100 Alertness, 100 effective Intimidation and 90 Melee Weapons. Yikes. Wouldn't want to fight that.

You'd be surprised at how much of a pain in the ass some players can be.

You wouldn't actually, I suspect you three know exactly what I'm talking about.

I find some humor in implementing Shikaku Nara solutions to some dungeons from time to time, much to the annoyance of my GM.

Haunted mansion you say? Lots of clever puzzles? Burn it down and loot the remains.

Necronomicon expy with knowledge that cannot be known? Potentially more complicated depending on the specifics, but nothing that a pile of mid level adventurers with access to broken RAW magic can't solve after running MadEyeMoody.sim for a few minutes.

You don't fight it, you blow it up from orbit.

e: Actually, it looks like Kei could kill her just fine, with sufficient time to prepare. Skywalkers OP.

Yeah, I am aware. My Hero Academia had a nice example of this as well.

But for the Hokage or anyone remotely smart this isn't a problem.

She's a Medic-Nin. With a bloodline that gives her super-empathy and prevents her from being able to desensitize herself.

Yeah, there's a reason why she has Resolve 80 and the Aspect "I Will Not Bow." The Shattered Heart doesn't let you compartmentalize.

She's had to fully internalize that she and everyone she cares about is going to die a really, really horrible death. I don't think she's quite at Kagome levels, but she's getting there.

While that may be true, my impression of TYS is that it needs to clear the bar for "One of the top 10 most pants-shittingly disturbing/horrifying things you've ever seen in your life." depending on the context.

I'm pessimistic that, even with Super Empathy and a natural weakness to traumatic experiences and a career that naturally involves these, that this would be higher than N +- 20 (or so) where N is the character's age. After seeing your teammates explode into chunky salsa and having to fix the aftermath of a particularly weird sealing failure that turned someones arms into giant ramen noodles, the bar has to be raised a little bit, yknow?

Hey all: here's a hypothetical Jounin build for a significant member/clan head of the Kakero. It's hard to do a full build given the lack of system information on what things actually do, and our lack of experience at the Jounin level, but hopefully this is reasonable. I expect it to still be a significant underestimate.

Jounin are scary.
I think her CR looks too low; while Alertness 100 Athletics 70 Melee Weapons 90 covereth a multitude of sins, it does not cover having chakra reserves barely bigger than Noburi's, not with the number (and presumably level) of jutsu she's packing.
